THE ROLE 

NEA is looking to appoint new Warm and Safe Homes (WASH) Advice Line Co-ordinator posts on a full time (37 hours per week) basis; but we are happy to receive applications from candidates who may wish to work part time hours as we would be prepared to appoint posts as job share opportunities. Please state your preferred working pattern in your application and we will discuss this at interview.

WASH Advice Line Co-ordinators will be the first point of contact for vulnerable householders who are contacting the charity for a range of energy related advice matters. Co-ordinators will need to be empathetic, polite and have good listening skills but may also need you to be assertive and confident in order to provide support to clients, some of whom may be in difficult circumstances. 

Whilst call centre or customer service experience will be advantageous, empathy and an ability to understand client needs is paramount and our training will give successful candidates the knowledge to succeed in the role.   

The post holder’s main responsibilities will be to deal with customer and partner emails, calls, live chats and off- line tasks. These will include:    

• Provision of day-to-day support to our customers and partners (referral organisations) on any queries, or issues, through answering telephones calls and emails.   

• Process, resolve or escalate client queries within the WASH and wider team in line with the internal process.   

• As a WASH Advice Line Co-ordinator, you’ll be in the front line of the provision of solutions to client queries and issues as part of a wider team.  

• Maintenance of appropriate client records and necessary data using client management systems to ensure the progress of work towards project targets is monitored and that project outcomes are fully recorded.

The post holders will be responsible for the delivery of a range of projects which will demonstrate good practice in delivery of affordable warmth for low income and vulnerable householders.

The posts sit within the Communities Directorate and are part of a dynamic and caring team of professionals who go the extra mile to support their clients, some of whom may be in difficult circumstances.

WHAT YOU WILL NEED TO SUCCEED 

You should be able to demonstrate understanding or experience of energy efficiency, you will be empathetic and be a good listener – as well as demonstrable experience of responding to the needs of clients in direct contact settings.  You will have the ability to work with a wide range of people and demonstrable experience of working with vulnerable householders, low income and/or other disadvantaged groups.

You will need excellent interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to build trust and rapport with a range of communities and individuals.

An awareness of the environmental, social and economic problems of deprived areas and the roles of the public, private and voluntary sectors in tackling them, is desirable, although not essential.

NEA has several office locations throughout England, Wales and Northern Ireland, and welcomes applicants from all regions.  Home working and office-based locations are available depending on proximity to a NEA office. Preferences will be discussed with candidates at interview.  Post holders must be resident within the UK and be able to provide their Right to Work in the UK. • £25,992 – £30,558, Scale 4 - 5, Points 7-17. New appointments will usually begin at the starting point of the scale.

JOB PURPOSE 

UK for UNHCR is looking for a Digital Communications Officer to join its team, raising vital support for displaced people around the world through creative campaigns such as the Refugee Dictionary, Cuppa Hope as well as fundraising appeals and partnerships. 

Reporting to the Digital Communications Manager, the Digital Communications Officer will have particular focus delivering day to day social media communications, including community management, publishing, content management and development. This role will also support wider digital communications activities, such as with the Senior Digital Communications Officer who manages the website. 

This involves identifying opportunities to amplify appeals, campaigns and partnerships through social media to support UK for UNHCR’s fundraising and public advocacy objectives. Raising awareness of global refugee crises and UNHCR’s humanitarian operations forms a central part of this storytelling, as well as thematic campaigns and PR moments throughout the year.   

One of your first focuses will be helping grow and verify UK for UNHCR’s TikTok account and LinkedIn presence, in addition to transitioning the charity’s channels to a new social media management tool. You will also work closely with the wider Communications team in supporting online and offline fundraising appeals.  

The Digital Communications Officer will also work with the wider Communications team to identify and support storytellers (including refugees and supporters) to share their stories through the charity’s social media channels.

ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES

Planning, coordination and growth

• Deliver and schedule social media content on a daily and weekly basis, with flexibility to respond to news events and emergencies at short notice.  
• Produce or commission multimedia content, including videos, graphics and photography to support charity activity on social media.  
• Apply understanding of UNHCR’s humanitarian work to deliver strong storytelling and relevant content to the audience.  
• Adapt content from UNHCR’s head office and field communications to localise for UK audiences.  
• Develop social media editorial plans to amplify campaigns, milestones and events.  
• Deliver planning and scheduling in a timely manner and be quick to respond to news and emergencies.  
• Flag and navigate political sensitivities in line with UNHCR and charity policies. 
• Deliver on a paid media strategy to amplify social media content more broadly, with a focus on Meta ads manager. 
• Update and maintain community management guidelines on a regular basis.  
• Work closely with the Communications Coordinator to monitor and moderate all of the charity’s social media channels.  
• Other support for digital communications as required, such as helping cover website activities when colleagues are on leave. 

Analytics, reporting and best practice

• Deliver regular reports outlining the performance of our content and channels, ensuring we’re on track to reach 100k followers by the end of 2026. 
• Create and lead on a testing roadmap, leveraging new features across all social media channels. 
• Keep up to date with social media content trends, news and tools to inform best practice and strategy.  
• Provide subject matter expertise, proactive assistance and advice as required for planning and delivery of digital and supporter journey projects. 
• Observe all legal and legislative requirements, comply with policies and procedures, and demonstrate a high level of confidentiality and integrity.

• Experience using native social media tools, like Meta business manager and YouTube Creator studio, to manage online communities.

• Proficient in using social media tools to evaluate performance and identify improvements.  
• Proficient in creating content for online use, using software such as Adobe Suite, Canva or similar, to edit and produce basic assets.

The Postgraduate Diploma in Children and Young People’s (CYP) Psychological Trainings: Therapy is one of the national CYP Mental Health (CYPMH) workforce development programmes, funded by NHS England. The Living Wage Foundation has an exciting opportunity to join our dynamic team as a Research Manager. We are looking for an individual with quantitative research expertise and a desire to influence positive social change to join our Research Team. Previous experience in conducting research on the UK labour market is desirable but not essential. Reporting to the Senior Research Manager, the Research Manager will: 

• Contribute to the design and management of our research programme on labour market conditions, low pay, in-work poverty, and insecure work. 

• Conduct rigorous quantitative and qualitative research (mainly quantitative) to understand how existing working conditions such as low pay and insecure work - and potential improvements - affect workers, businesses, and society. 

• Provide thought-leadership on areas relevant to LWF’s work, including on areas like low pay, insecure work and cost-of-living, and relevant policy developments.

• Communicate research findings verbally and in writing to influence employers to pay the real Living Wage, and to grow recognition and understanding of the Living Wage Foundation and the social policy issues it works on.

• Provide input into in-house research standards and quality assurance.

• Have direct line management responsibility for a researcher. 

• Build relationships with external partners, including commissioning and managing research conducted by other organisations.

Main Responsibilities 

This role sits within the communications team. Working as a Research Manager for the Living Wage Foundation, your main responsibilities will include:  

Strategy Development 

• Contribute to the design and management of a research strategy for the Living Wage Foundation, effectively planning a timeline of future projects that combines to grow the Foundation’s influence, intelligence and impact. 

• Work across the Foundation’s communications, programme and business development teams to understand and support research and intelligence needs around Living Wage accreditation and the diversification of the Foundation’s work. 

• Support the Foundation’s communications team to embed data and research findings across traditional media, social media and website communications, including by identifying external hooks to showcase new or existing LWF Research. 

Build and manage projects and achieve work targets effectively 

• Design and deliver high-quality research projects within the Living Wage Foundation’s research programme, focusing on the labour market, low pay and in-work poverty.

• Conduct quantitative analysis of secondary datasets, including the Labour Force Survey, the Annual Survey of Hours and Earnings, the Family Resources Survey and Understanding Society. 

• Commission, design and analyse primary polling of individuals and businesses. 

• Commission and manage research conducted for the Foundation by external organisations. 

• Conduct qualitative research, including interviews and focus groups with low-paid workers and employers. 

Reputational and risk management 

• Identify potential reputational risks related to research and proactively develop appropriate protocol, messages and standards to mitigate risks, including through appropriate quality assurance processes 

• Design and conduct evaluations of the Foundation’s programmes and impact, and build the evidence base on the benefits of the Living Wage to workers, businesses and society. 

Materials development and dissemination 

• Managing individual reports and projects, with full ownership of the planning, methodology, report writing, dissemination and evaluation. 

• Disseminate research findings through written reports, articles, blogs and presentations. 

• Plan and react to regular data releases from the ONS relevant to low pay, labour markets and in-work poverty. 

External Relationships 

• Build and manage relationships with research organisations, academics, think tanks and employer networks. 

• Identify and develop strategic partnerships with a range of stakeholders – including project partners and funders to support the Foundation’s work.

• Represent the Foundation at meetings and events, including speaking on panels and in roundtables on research- and policy-related issues. 

Internal Relationships 

• Support wider research and intelligence needs and projects across Citizens UK. 

• Provide research support to colleagues where required, including by responding to data-requests and providing input on project-specific research activity where required. 

• Work with Citizens UK community organisers, members and leaders to promote civic engagement with and ownership of the Living Wage campaign. 

Learning and Expertise 

• Become in-house expert on issues relevant to LWF’s diversification work.

• Monitor developments in public policy and develop appropriate proposals for what these mean for LWF’s work.

• Demonstrate ability to support members of the team in designing and delivering research outputs, including providing input on in house research standards.

• Support the training and induction of team members, and work collaboratively with the wider team to ensure that we are meeting the expectations of our network and stakeholders. 

Generate income and resources 

• Manage budgets, and identify opportunities to attract funding for research projects.

Role & Responsibilities

The Event Sales Manager is the main contact for all hires enquiries about our fantastic 7 studio spaces, 2 theatres and café Bar.

The Event Sales Manager is responsible for driving sales, managing client relationships, supervising the event planning process.

No one day is the same at Brixton House. The versatility of the building enable us to host a wide range of events such as Meetings, Screenings, Conferences, Music Gigs and Book Launches.
 
Sales

- Achieve monthly sales targets
- Secure returning hire bookings
- Create and implement sales strategies
- Look at upselling opportunities across the venue including food and beverage packages
- Develop contacts with relevant cultural, commercial and social markets to increase sales opportunities – especially locally

Chapter One is a dynamic, growing charity with a vision of a world in which all children have the literacy skills needed to thrive. Our mission is to close the reading gap by providing children with one-to-one support at the time they need it most. We work in eleven areas/regions of the UK and will support 3250 children in 2024-25.

Our unique Online Reading Volunteer programme pairs struggling five to seven-year old (KS1) readers with reading support volunteers who are working professionals. The volunteer ask is very focused: readers commit 30 minutes a week to read with a child using a bespoke digital platform for an entire academic year. The results are transformative, boosting children's reading confidence and ability.

From a school perspective, online reading volunteers provide direct, meaningful literacy support for up to 10 pupils per class. The programme is particularly suitable for communities where it might be challenging to find parents and other volunteers who can commit to physically visiting schools to boost reading.

Job Summary

Chapter One is seeking a Manchester Programme Manager who is an excellent communicator and is able both to motivate and support schools and teachers to implement our online reading volunteers programme, and also to ensure that the programme’s impact and benefit to children facing disadvantage communities is maximised throughout the academic year.

The post is ideal for someone looking for part-time, flexible, term-time only work from a home base, but who is also able to travel frequently around the Greater Manchester area to visit schools.The postholder will be joining a team of established Programme Managers (also part-time) who work in different parts of the UK and will need to have some flexibility to work additional hours during busy autumn months, and conversely to work fewer hours during quieter periods of the year. The weekly hours for this role (currently 12-14 p/week) are likely to increase in future.

Key Responsibilities:

• Effectively explain Chapter One’s online reading volunteer programme and its benefits to school leaders and teachers

• Install, setup and maintain Chapter One equipment in participating classrooms

The Programme Assistant will provide support to the School Partnerships team to help deliver the programme, and will report to the Head of School Partnerships.  The role will include organisation and support for events, drafting and distributing email newsletters, data collection and processing, and other logistical and administrative support across the programme.

This post will have specific responsibility to the School Partnerships team in the first instance. The School Partnerships Programme offers funding and support to groups of schools in England that are committed to enhancing physics teaching and learning. There are approximately 120 school partnerships.

The Ogden Trust is a charitable foundation, started by Sir Peter Ogden in 1999, which supports the teaching and learning of physics. The Trust supports a range of initiatives, programmes and projects supporting schools, teachers of physics and informal science education.

As part of this work, our People and Operations Team engages a wide range of people in the Trust’s vision for Gloucestershire, and our Executive Assistant is integral to this.

We are looking for an Executive Assistant to deliver high level professional administrative support to the Chief Executive Officer and Chief Operating Officer. The Executive Assistant will take responsibility and ownership of office organisation and project delivery, and to provide Trust-wide support for human resources processes and governance processes for the Board of Trustees.

Contract terms:

· This role is permanent, and we welcome applications from people looking for full time hours (37.5hrs per week).

· We offer a flexible start between 8am and 9.30am Monday to Friday. 

· Salary £38,066 p/a FTE 

· 36 days holiday inc. bank holidays 

· This position is based in our office in central Cheltenham with occasional opportunities for home working.

 

Summary of key duties:

Executive Assistance:

· Schedule, organise and minute meetings as required for Leadership Team members, ensuring all necessary arrangements are considered.

· Manage diaries and incoming communication for the CEO and COO as required.

· Manage and undertake projects, assignments and other administrative duties as required.

· Provide line management to the Operations Administrator, enacting the Trust’s management processes to ensure that all employees are motivated, supported and enabled to give of their best.

Governance Assistance:

· Support with the preparation of meeting papers ensuring they are issued in a timely manner and loaded on the Governance Portal.

· Accurate minute-taking and record-keeping for all governance meetings. To include maintaining the following registers: (i) Trustees; (ii) attendance at meetings, (iii) decisions taken out of meetings (iv) signed minutes.

· Support Trustee recruitment processes through the creation of application packs, scheduling recruitment process, managing applications and interviews, scheduling induction activities and creating digital and hard copy induction packs.

Human Resources Administration:

· Support the development and delivery of effective HR processes for the Trust, in conjunction with the COO.

· Support recruitment of both employees and Trustees through placement of adverts and issuing of relevant communications during the recruitment process in a timely manner, and liaising with the recruiting manager to ensure the process is planned and delivered in a supportive and accessible manner.

· Oversee and manage the administration of the IRIS HR system.

· Ensure reports relating to people management are available and issued to People Managers on a regular basis.

Use of Overton House:

· Establish, and keep under review, the policy and process for the booking of spaces at Overton House to external users.

· Oversee bookings by partner organisations, ensuring all appropriate agreements and guidance are in place for external users and that bookings and visitors are well managed.

· Liaise with the Marketing & Communications Team to ensure that appropriate communications about available space and booking processes are in place.

· Oversee the receiving of external visitors to Overton House, ensuring a welcoming and accessible environment for all.

Essential Knowledge and Experience:

· Proven experience of working as a Personal Assistant/Executive Assistant at a senior level

· Experience of providing administrative support and project coordination for a range of parallel projects

· Experience of accurate minute-taking for both formal and informal meetings

Desirable Knowledge and Experience:

· Line management experience to foster a productive and supportive team environment

· Knowledge of human resources policies and procedures

· Knowledge of governance processes

· Knowledge of meeting management, facilities hire or similar

· Experience of working in a charity or not-for-profit sector organisation
