We are looking for someone to join the Governance and Compliance team in the role of Head of Risk, Governance and Reporting. This key role will oversee processes which manage organisational risk, support the Board and Chief Executive in their governance responsibilities, and ensure all regulatory reporting is completed to a good quality and to timescale. In this role you will:

• Develop and oversee processes which manage organisational risk: the strategic risk register, the internal audit service and first line legal advice services.
• Support the Board and the Chief Executive in fulfilling their governance responsibilities for the charity ensuring compliance with relevant regulatory authorities and standards.
• Ensure regulatory returns and assessments are made on time and to a good quality, and support with regulatory inspections.
• Provide line management, support, and development to the Governance Officer.
• Work closely with the Director of Governance and Compliance and deputise as required.

You will be required to work flexibly for two days per week from our Central Office in Tower Hill, London. This allows for in person collaboration, team building, line management and other relationship building opportunities. We support a flexible approach to work with opportunities for agile working for the rest of your week; from home, or other St Mungo’s London or regional locations.

Partnership Manager - Wales

Location: The role will be based out of the BookTrust Offices in Cardiff.  BookTrust works in a hybrid and flexible way with an expectation of a minimum of 8 face to face collaboration days per month which could be at the Cardiff office, visiting partners across Wales and on occasions UK wide travel.  There will therefore be reasonable travel needed to fulfil the role, with occasional overnight stays.

As Project Support Officer you will support the Area Manager and Regional Manager with volunteer recruitment, documentation of training, giving our volunteers a fantastic experience, guest outreach and giving extra support to our West Midlands projects as and when required to aid development and growth within the region.​​​

Each of our Projects is run by Project Leaders (volunteer position) and supported by Regional Managers through recruitment and training of volunteers. We're looking for a keen and motivated Training Administrator to join our small, friendly team at our head office in Rugby.  You'll be working closely with our Training Manager and ISVA  (Independent Sexual Violence Advisor) Training Project Manager, facilitating the smooth delivery of workshops, events and meetings, advertising and promoting training workshops and preparing training delivery and feedback reports.  The Survivors Trust provides a range of workshops and training opportunities for professionals working with victims and survivors of sexual violence and sexual abuse.

You will provide high level administrative support for the Training Manager and ISVA Training Project Manager, overseeing training bookings and maintaining a database of trainees on our CRM (Beacon).  You will be responsible for collecting and collating feedback from training attendees and preparing reports to support training delivery.  Working in collaboration with the Training Team you will support the advertising and marketing of training opportunities including updating relevant website content. 

You will also maintain accurate records of training and project delivery, including budgets and impact measures data for both internal and external stakeholders.  Part of your role will include gathering statistics for monitoring and reporting processes.

You will ideally have previous experience of administration in a training setting and/or working in the voluntary sector but please don't be put off applying if you don't meet all requirements.  The right candidate will be an effective communcator in a friendly and professional manner, with excellent IT skills including CRM and LMS.

About The Survivors Trust

Crisis is the national charity for people experiencing homelessness. We know that homelessness is not inevitable. We know that together we can end it. 

We are now recruiting for a new role in the Resources Team, Crisis at Christmas to support with coordinating the material donations needed to set up and run Crisis at Christmas centres and services. Every year, Crisis at Christmas opens its doors to people who need our support, offering warmth, accommodation, healthcare, food, and specialist advice. Last Christmas we worked with over 6,600 people facing homelessness through our day centres and hotels in London, and Crisis Skylight centres across Britain.

About the role 

As a Project Coordinator – Resources your role will involve building relationships with current and new corporate donors to ensure we can resource all the required material donations we need to run the Crisis at Christmas centres in London.  Gift in kind donations we require range from food and beverages to clothing, hairdressing equipment and minibuses. This is a varied role that involves researching donors, communicating with large corporate companies, managing volunteers, and running community donations.

The ideal candidate will have a Life-Science degree or relevant experience in Life Sciences. High digital literacy is essential, encompassing digital design tools, content creation, website management, email platforms, and social media management. Experience in project management, creating accurate visual and written content for various platforms, and excellent organisational skills with a proactive problem-solving approach are required. We are looking for a senior campaigns, media and PR specialist to lead our recently expanded communications team to deliver a compelling and influential comms and campaigns strategy.

You will be responsible for the strategic development and operational delivery of all our campaigns and external communications, finding creative ways to build our brand, increase understanding of pregnancy loss and grow our income. You will manage relationships with the media and lead on securing coverage across online and offline channels, through, for example, press releases, human interest stories, case studies and position statements.

Acting as a key ambassador for the MA, you will also support the CEO to develop and maintain strong relationships with, and represent the charity to, a diverse range of stakeholders. You will also work alongside the CEO, Head of Operations and Service Delivery and other key personnel to contribute to the charity’s strategic vision and plans and help to translate these into communications activities and KPIs.

This is a unique opportunity to support the effective coordination and future development of the Coastal Communities Network, Scotland, on a 2-year fixed term basis, at 80% FTE (30hrs/ week).  The Coastal Communities Network Coordinator will work alongside Fauna & Flora’s team in Scotland to ensure dedicated support to the Coastal Communities Network and its constituent members, and undertake delivery of specific actions identified by the CCN Council.

Crisis is the national charity for people experiencing homelessness. We know that homelessness is not inevitable. We know that together we can end it. 

We are now recruiting the team that will deliver Crisis at Christmas 2024. This unique project mobilises a huge volunteering effort to provide warmth, companionship and vital services in temporary centres across London to people facing homelessness.

Contract: Fixed Term Contact - starting either 10 or 17 September 2024 till January/ February 2025 (as required)  

Hours: 35 hours per week (some rota’d working to cover weekends and bank holidays over Christmas period)

About the role 

We are looking for three new Project Assistants to support the delivery of a range of services our guests need to have a safe and happy Christmas. From healthcare and catering to advice and wellbeing services such as arts and crafts and salon, our services can make a real difference. You will support with the recruitment and management of Crisis at Christmas volunteers and external partners to help deliver services, ensuring teams have all the information and equipment they need. This is a varied role including processing volunteer applications, creating comms materials, managing, and communicating schedules, organising training, organising and setting up kit, ensuring our teams of specialists have the equipment and materials they need and helping out in our centres. 

This is great role to kickstart your career in the housing, homelessness, or volunteer events sector.

About you 

To be successful in this role you will have…

• Experience of providing administrative support in a busy events or project based environment 

• Experience of customer service and ability to deal with high volumes of enquiries via phone and email in a professional and friendly manner 

• Excellent spoken and written skills to communicate effectively and confidently with a wide range of audiences  

• Strong organisational skills with an ability to manage multiple priorities and work to tight deadlines 

• Experience of providing administrative support including general office duties and maintaining accurate records   

• Strong IT skills and ability to utilise databases in order to process data effectively   

You may have experience running events or working on busy projects or have experience in a busy customer service or administration environment.  You should have an interest in the charity or homelessness sector and a commitment to Crisis’ purpose and values.

Fowler’s Syndrome UK (Registered Charity number 1196903) is a unique patient and clinician led charity that works to raise awareness, promote education and encourage research into the debilitating bladder condition Fowler’s Syndrome. The condition solely affects women and Fowler’s Syndrome UK (FSUK) is the only charity in the world to directly support women with this condition.

Fowler’s syndrome is a life changing and currently almost untreatable condition, affecting up to 20,000 women in the UK. It  causes full or partial urinary retention and solely affects women*, meaning they have problems passing urine due to a difficulty in relaxing the urinary sphincter. The peak age of onset is 26. It was first described by Professor Clare Fowler, Emeritus professor of Uro-Neurology at UCLh, and FSUK’s patron, in 1985.

We estimate that there are in excess of 20,000 women in the UK suffering from, but not necessarily diagnosed with, the condition, because of the lack of knowledge about Fowler’s Syndrome both from a patient and clinician perspective.

85% of women with Fowler’s Syndrome say the condition has had a severe or devastating impact on their life.

75% of those with FS have been told their urinary symptoms are due to anxiety or ‘all in their head’

There is low awareness of the condition among the medical community outside of specialist hospitals. Only an estimated 30% of GPs are aware of Fowler’s Syndrome. Once diagnosed, there are few resources available for patients and limited treatment options. Many women feel alone and unsupported.

Our mission is to provide resources, promote education and facilitate research into Fowler’s syndrome; so women with the condition have stigma free access to a timely diagnosis, suitable and effective treatment options, care and psychological support.

The Role: Administrator

The administrator’s role is to support the CEO in the daily management of the charity. This will include administration, delivering resources, comms including social media and website, outreach and events, fundraising and research. It will also include supporting the CEO and Patient Liaison with seminars and conferences, and support groups.

Administration: Support the CEO and the Finance and Governance lead with daily activities, including but not limited to grant applications, basic finance administration, project management, project delivery, database management, office management. Objective: Improve efficiency and quality of the charity’s management

Resources: Supporting the CEO and working to deliver first class resources.  Working with the CEO and Patient Liaison to efficiently and effectively run the roll out of our resources, following the CEO’s guidelines and the charity’s mission and vision. This will include Healthcare professional (HCP) leaflets, Patient leaflets, a catheter support series, mental health support series, Pain management support from pharmacists and Physiotherapist led sessions. This will also include management of zoom and in person groups,  dissemination of information on studies and surveys.

Comms:  Manage the patient database including GDPR, manage newsletters, PR, website. Manage FSUK’s social media, with direction from the CEO. Daily posts plus responding to queries and signposting. Social media partnerships. Monthly email to database. Basic updates to website

Outreach and events: Drive awareness of FSUK in the local community and beyond Work with CEO to manage merchandising, registration, setup, logistics of events. Find, plan and represent FSUK at events. Manage yearly even calendar. Working with the CEO and administrator to plan, organise and run events, including transformative one-day seminar for healthcare professionals and a two-day seminar for FSUK users and clinicians.

Fundraising: Help the CEO and Patient liaison with fundraising, both on an individual and trust basis.

Community led research: Assist the CEO in creating patient led community research.

Research: Assist the CEO and work with the Patient Liaison in creating and conducting research. Including Patient perspectives input into consensus guidelines for non-surgical management, Dr. Ingrid Hoeritzauer, Patient experiences with sacral neuromodulation, Dr. Caroline Selai, Awareness of FS among UK urology community, Prof Jalesh Panicker via University Cambridge, Physiotherapy treatment experiences with FS and CIUR, Dr. Ingrid Hoeritzauer. Our research will help enable women to receive the support they need and fulfil their potential, offering quicker diagnosis and better treatments and enabling our community to thrive.

There may be occasions where staff are required to work out of hours or support at events, including wish related activities such as our annual wish family Christmas party or wish community events, cheering runners at the London marathon or working at our annual fundraising gala. The above is not an exhaustive list of duties and you will be expected to perform different tasks as necessitated by your changing role within the organisation and the overall business objectives of the organisation.
