Overall Duties of the Commercial Bid Writer & Fundraiser  will include:

• Taking the lead in identifying, coordinating, and managing tendering opportunities, processes, and contracts for TACT.
• Overseeing the commissioning and contractual tender portfolio, which will involve ensuring high-quality submissions, and maintaining compliance with all relevant procedures.
• Contribute to fundraising efforts by developing and managing grant applications, securing corporate partnerships, and coordinating annual fundraising events.

The main requirements for this role include:

• GCSE grade C or above in Maths and English or equivalent qualification.
• Proven experience in bid and tender writing with a strong track record of successful submissions.
• Experience in fundraising, particularly in grant applications, corporate partnerships, and donor engagement.
• Knowledge of fundraising legislation, regulations and record-keeping.
• An understanding of the children’s social care system.
• Familiarity with trusts, foundations, corporate fundraising, and major donor funding mechanisms.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Strong research and analytical skills to identify tender and funding opportunities.
• Highly organised, with the ability to track and manage multiple contracts and funding streams.
• Exceptional writing skills with the ability to craft compelling and accurate documentation.
• Competent using MS Office Suite including Teams, Word, Excel, PowerPoint etc

Reporting to the Family Support Manager out of our London and South East team base and working in partnership with health, education and social care professionals, you will take responsibility for providing needs-led emotional, social and practical support to families where a child/young person has a life threatening or terminal illness.

As a Benefits Adviser, you’ll provide expert advice and representation to beneficiaries on a wide range of welfare benefit issues. Your role will involve supporting individuals through income maximisation, mandatory reconsiderations, and appeals, including representation at tribunal hearings.

What You’ll Do:

- Provide expert advice on welfare benefits, including entitlements, claims, and complex cases like Student Finance and Armed Forces Pensions.
- Support with overpayments, late claims, and backdating, ensuring beneficiaries understand their rights.
- Advocate for beneficiaries with DWP, SSS, Local Authorities, and HMRC, challenging decisions and securing evidence.
- Prepare and represent cases at First-Tier Tribunals, including overpayments and appeals.
- Assess case strengths, potential outcomes, and legal implications, adapting strategies as needed.
- Stay up to date with legislation, case law, and best practices, ensuring accurate advice and representation.
- Escalate cases when necessary, including Upper Tribunal appeals, judicial reviews, and Ombudsman referrals.

About The Role

This is a unique Dementia Adviser role working across Rotherham and Sheffield in the Rotherham Carers Resilience Service and our Sheffield Dementia Short-term Intervention Service and Hospital Discharge Pilot. These services offer specialist support for 4 to 6 weeks offering advice and support, preventing crisis or provide crisis intervention support if needed.

Referrals for these services come from Rotherham and Sheffield GPs and staff working in the Sheffield Teaching Hospitals. No two days are the same in this role and our work really can transform the lives of people affected by dementia. You will be supporting dementia carers in Rotherham and people with a dementia diagnosis (or on the dementia pathway) and/or their carers and wider families in Sheffield.

You will be supported by a small team of dementia advisers, along with our Sheffield & Rotherham local services manager and manager of the Carers Resilience Service in Rotherham.

About you

- Be An empathetic listener, able to assess and evaluate client need in a non- judgemental manner.
- Able to work under pressure and manage own caseload.
- Be emotional resilient and be able to support our service users to become emotionally resilience.
- Self-motivated and can work independently from home using your own initiative, but equally you are a team player keen to support your colleagues, working in community venues when required.
- You have some knowledge or personal experience of dementia, and the challenges people affected by it may face.

Safeguarding

Power2 is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment. All successful candidates will be required to have an enhanced DBS certificate (child workforce) in place and provide details of two referees. As part of our commitment to safeguarding, we may conduct an online search for shortlisted candidates to ensure suitability for working with children and young people.
