About Yoga Stops Traffick
Yoga Stops Traffick (YST) is a global yoga campaign to raise awareness and funds to combat human trafficking. YST supports the work of Odanadi Seva Trust, an organisation in India dedicated to rescuing, rehabilitating, and empowering survivors of human trafficking.
Role Overview
We're looking for a Volunteer Web Designer experienced in WordPress to help enhance our online presence.
Responsibilities
- Website Updates: Maintain and update the Yoga Stops Traffick website (built on WordPress) to ensure content is current, visually appealing, and user-friendly.
- Design Enhancements: Propose and implement design improvements to align with our branding and campaign goals.
- Troubleshooting: Address any technical issues on the website, ensuring smooth functionality and navigation.
- Content Integration: Assist with uploading blogs, event details, images, and multimedia content.
- SEO Optimization: Ensure the website is optimized for search engines to increase visibility.
Skills & Experience Required
- Proven experience designing and managing WordPress websites.

Role Summary
We are seeking a creative and motivated UX Designer to collaborate closely with our UX Design Lead and Digital team in building and enhancing the Roots app, website, as well as the instructor, student, and partner portals. This role is crucial in ensuring our platforms are user-friendly, accessible, and aligned with the needs of our user base. The ideal candidate will also bring user research capabilities to the team, ensuring that our design decisions are informed by real-world insights and user feedback.
Key tasks

Support the UX Design Lead to create intuitive and user-centred designs for the Roots app and portals - Student and Instructor.

Develop wireframes, prototypes, and high-fidelity mockups that align with user needs and project goals.

Conduct user research/workshops to gather insights and identify user needs, pain points, and behaviours.

Create user personas, journey maps, and other research artefacts to guide design decisions.

Test and validate design concepts through user testing and feedback sessions.

Work closely with the Digital team and our developers to ensure seamless implementation of designs.

Ensure all design work meets brand guidelines and project objectives.

Web developers and designers wanted to support East London Waterworks Park in continuing to improve its website and digital infrastructure.
East London Waterworks Park is a volunteer-led charity that has won a 2024 New London Architecture award and raised £2m towards buying land from the Department for Education to transform the 14-acre Thames Water Depot on Lea Bridge Road on the border of Waltham Forest and Hackney, into a new biodiverse park with natural swimming ponds, forest schools and community spaces.
We are looking for web developers and designers to contribute to our community-led working group who are working on coordinating content and infrastructure for the East London Waterworks Park website.
There is opportunity to lead on projects across web development and UX and web design, and facilitate the direction of the working group.
The Comms Circle currently meets fortnightly on a Tuesday evening on Google Meet and spends voluntary time outside of the meeting completing agreed tasks remotely.
You should be experienced in HTML, PHP, CSS, Javascript and SQL, and or UX and web design. You should be comfortable with community-led processes. Our roles are quite flexible. We hope that people bring radical imagination, peace with nature, and courageous inclusiveness to the role.

Volunteer Role Description (remote, unpaid)
Key Responsibilities- Educational Strategy Development- Design and validate the overall educational framework for Seek and Sight. Ensure alignment with early literacy standards, such as Common Core, state guidelines, or other relevant frameworks. Provide strategic input on the pedagogical approach for teaching sight words and reading literacy.
Curriculum Guidance- Develop a recommended structure for educational content and games (e.g., sight word levels, activities, and progression paths). Ensure materials are age-appropriate, engaging, and tailored to diverse learning needs. Suggest methods for incorporating STEM elements into the literacy framework. Content Evaluation and Quality Assurance- Review and evaluate the educational content created by other team members or contributors. Offer suggestions for improving the effectiveness and engagement of the content. Ensure content is accessible to children with unique learning needs or challenges.
Support Game Development- Collaborate with the app developer and graphic designers to ensure the educational games and app features align with learning goals. Advise on incorporating multisensory elements (audio, visual, and tactile) for enhanced learning outcomes. Insights on Accessibility and Inclusion- Recommend strategies to make the app inclusive for children with diverse learning needs (e.g., neurodiversity, vision or hearing impairments). Identify tools or features that can accommodate different learning paces and styles.
Collaboration and Training- Work closely with graphic designers, content creators, and the development team to maintain consistency and educational quality. Provide insights for onboarding and training educators or parents on how to use the platform effectively.
Market and Stakeholder Alignment- Offer insights into what educators, parents, and schools value in educational technology. Help position Seek and Sight as a credible, impactful tool for literacy improvement.
Ongoing Evaluation and Feedback- Assess the effectiveness of the app’s educational features through user feedback and data. Suggest iterative improvements to enhance learning outcomes.

We are seeking a skilled Test Engineer to join our digital team at Roots Academy. This role is essential in ensuring the quality and reliability of our Firebase/Flutter-based technologies. The ideal candidate will have a solid background in software testing and a passion for delivering high-quality digital products. You will work closely with developers, designers and other stakeholders to design and implement testing strategies (unit, feature and end-to-end testing) that enhance the performance and user experience of our platforms.
Key Tasks
- Develop and execute comprehensive test plans and test cases for the Roots app, website, and portals (Instructor, Student, and Partner).
- Collaborate with developers to identify testing requirements and ensure that all features are thoroughly tested and validated before deployment.
- Automate testing processes using appropriate tools and frameworks to ensure efficiency and repeatability.
- Identify, document, and track defects, and work with the development team to resolve issues in a timely manner.
- Conduct performance and load testing to ensure our platforms can handle user demands effectively.
- Provide feedback on usability and functionality, and work with the UX team to enhance the user experience based on testing outcomes.
- Stay updated on industry trends and best practices in software testing and quality assurance.
