We’re looking for a dedicated Case Officer (12 months maternity cover) to manage casework and provide direct support, advice, and guidance to beneficiaries on a wide range of issues including health, social care, employment, benefits, statutory support, and housing.

In this role, you will assess the needs of beneficiaries and collaborate with regional specialist teams and external service providers to ensure that support is delivered in an integrated and effective way. You will also develop creative, tailored solutions, drawing on contributions from volunteers, our members, and branches to meet beneficiaries' unique needs.

Additionally, you will work closely with the Casework Services Manager and Head of Welfare to identify and address local beneficiary needs, helping shape the commissioning of specialist services. You will advise beneficiaries on available support and assist them in accessing the services they need, while maintaining an up-to-date knowledge of statutory benefits. Building strong connections with local organizations to reach beneficiaries in the community will also be a key part of your work.

The role is primarily homebased with will have regular travel around the Cheshire & Merseyside for internal meetings and visiting beneficiaries, therefore you will need to live in a location that allows reasonable travel around this area.

There will also be occasional travel nationally to attend training / meetings.

Driving licence is essential requirement for this role.

We are looking for a capable, proactive person to support the overall programme management approach for Connected Futures. The Senior Programme Support Officer will support the Head of Programmes to develop and deliver an approach to programme and project management across Connected Futures. This is primarily a project management role, enabling a cross-functional team to work effectively and efficiently together on a complex, fast-moving and high profile programme. This role is fixed term to January 2026 and can be based at any of our hubs located in London, Birmingham or Leeds.  We currently operate a hybrid model of two-days per week in the office and three-days from home.

The Legacy Administration Team plays a crucial role in generating income for the charity, working closely with marketing and local legacy fundraising partners. We promote personal development through ongoing training and collaboration across the Directorate and organisation.

Responsibilities

- Manage a caseload of specific, residuary, and reversionary legacies across the UK.
- Ensure Marie Curie receives its full entitlement in accordance with legal requirements, Wills, and settlements.
- Handle correspondence promptly, meeting internal service level agreements, and update case files accordingly.
- Liaise with other charities and act as lead charity when needed.

Role Overview

As a member of the Supporter Engagement Team no two days will be the same. You will be essential in helping us improve the lives of those living with Crohn's and Colitis by offering fantastic supporter service and ensuring our members and fundraisers feel valued and keen to continue to support!

The Supporter Engagement Officer plays a pivotal role in achieving this. By taking a lead in the day to day management of the income processing and membership arm of the team ensuring all income is processed quickly and accurately and supporters are thanked efficiently.

About You

You will have experience of working in a similar role, providing a high standard of customer care in a fast-paced environment, handling supporter queries and providing information in a concise and comprehensive manner.

You will be experienced in supervising staff or volunteers and be an effective and approachable networker with a proved track record of building excellent relations with all stakeholders, using high levels of tact and sensitivity when needed.

You'll need strong written and verbal skills and the ability to adapt your style depending on the audience. You'll also be effective at managing challenging situations and competing priorities.

You will have the ability to manage a busy workload and deadlines whilst taking ownership of problems to find a solution where possible, escalating to a manager where required. 

You will also have experience of working with databases to produce reports and insights, as well as the managing the handling of cash and finance processes.

Vocations and Placements (18-30) Development Officer

Hybrid Working: Connexional Team staff based at Methodist Church House or Cliff College have a hybrid work pattern which is currently 2-3 days in the office.

The Vacancy

The Methodist Church is at an exciting point in the development of its ministry with young adults (18-30). We are seeking to appoint someone with enthusiasm and passion for seeing young adults connect with God and explore their calling as a follower of Christ.

This role is integral to the delivery of the Young Adult Ministry Development Plan, and will focus on the following priorities:

• The management, development and advocacy of a new Young Adult Mission Placement Scheme, which aims to provide opportunities for young adults to be employed (or volunteer) in mission-focused placements in local churches and circuits where they can explore their vocation.

• Advocating for, supporting and enabling creative and relevant young adult ministry to be started and embedded in circuits and districts by journeying with local circuits/districts, providing advice and mentoring as appropriate to pilot creative projects for young adults to engage with and grow in discipleship and vocation.

About the role

A fantastic opportunity has arisen to join our bank of casual workers as a Welfare Officer, providing cover as required for the SSAFA RAF Service across the UK.

Our Bank Welfare Officers will provide direct and impactful welfare support to RAF personnel and their immediate family on an ad hoc basis when a full-time member of the team is unavailable to do so.

As a trusted and confidential source of support, you will assist our service users with challenges they are facing, from mental ill-health, difficult relationships, domestic abuse, financial and cost-of-living concerns, resettlement, housing, childcare, equality issues, bereavement, military discharge or deployment and many more - no day will be the same, as such this is a great opportunity to develop your knowledge and skills within the Welfare sector.

Our intervention is provided with consent on a non-statutory basis, and you will work with and engage our service users to develop appropriate interventions for individual outcomes.

Our service is transitioning to become more accessible and inclusive, digital technology plays a key role in this, as such you may be asked to use digital technologies to complement and enhance processes and service user experience.

You will work closely with RAF welfare teams, local authorities, health, education, civilian agencies, charities and other military organisations to ensure the best outcome for the service user.

About you

To thrive in this role you will have relevant experience of supporting adults, families and children/young people. You will be able to take a flexible and creative approach to problem solving. You will have excellent communication skills and be able to deliver presentations with confidence.

You will have used Microsoft Office 365 to a high standard. It is important that you have experience of planning and managing your own workload, with minimal supervision.

It would be advantageous if you have experience of carrying out assessments, preparing plans, monitoring and reviewing outcomes.

There will be some travel required and therefore you will need to be able to drive, have access to your own car and be flexible to spend nights away from home occasionally within the UK at short notice.

Job Purpose

This is a hands-on role, the purpose of which is to work with the staff to ensure that the Volunteer Action (VA) services are fully operational and delivering customer service excellence.

To co-ordinate and develop the volunteering programme to meet the demands of the services provided by VA to meet the Charity’s aims.

To support the development and management of all external communications, marketing and fundraising activities.

To work closely with the CE and deputise as and when required.

Operations

a) Day to day supervision of office volunteers, including rota production

b) Ensure the databases are used accurately, kept up to date and maintained within GDPR guidelines

c) Ensure that day to day activities are executed professionally and economically

d) Ensure all administrative functions are completed effectively and in a timely fashion

e) Ensure all mandatory documentation is completed and accurate records are maintained

f) Identify and introduce continuous improvements to working procedures

g) Identify, develop and deliver training for staff and office volunteers as required

h) Ensure the office is manned optimally to meet the changing demands of the service including providing cover for holidays etc as required

a) Support the production of content and assist in the distribution of the monthly communication to volunteers and the annual VA Newsletter arranging mail-outs to clients as required

Deputising for the Chief Executive and Charity Manager

About the role:

We are currently looking for a Volunteer Support Officer with proven administrative and IT skills to join our busy Volunteer Support Department at London Area Sea Cadets.

This role involves acting as the first point of contact via email and phone for our volunteers providing warm and friendly assistance. This role provides vital support to volunteers within our enrolment process as well as administrative tasks that aid and celebrate our volunteers. Our successful candidate will be organised, a strong team player and have excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Responsibilities:

• Support the adult volunteer applications to join the Sea Cadets, ensuring that personnel records are updated accordingly on our database
• Review and approve applications for the Cadet Forces Medal
• Respond to all volunteer enquiries received by MSSC by email, post and phone

Requirements:

• Computer literacy: strong knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, email, internet and experience of web-based information systems

• Experience of working in a customer focussed role, including handling a wide range of enquiries by phone and email, and handling challenging phone calls and emails

• Experience of database inputting and records maintenance and management

Financial & Governance

• Accountable to the MIH Board of Trustees for the overall financial health of the charity, you will ensure that the charity’s financial resources are managed effectively, risks identified proactively and mitigating actions taken appropriately.
• To support the Trustees in all areas of their governance and legal responsibilities in line with Charity Commission requirements and other relevant regulatory bodies.
