ReMind UK (formerly RICE) leads and collaborates on essential research and service delivery to improve the health and find effective treatment for those impacted by dementia and other related conditions.

ReMind UK is a cutting-edge research and treatment centre located in Bath, working in both clinical trial and academic research. We are an independent charity focused on essential research and provide support for people with dementia and other conditions of older age, their families and carers; dedicated to improving the quality of life of everyone involved. Our contracted NHS Memory Clinic service and post diagnosis activities also provide support to patients, families and carers.

ReMind UK has recently undergone a major rebrand and was formerly known as RICE – The Research Institute for the Care of Older people and you may see both names used in relation to this role and our wider activities during the phased transition.

THE ROLE

The role would suit an experienced bookkeeper/finance officer who is able to and enjoys working with colleagues across a multi-disciplinary team. You will run our day-to-day finance functions in Xero, and its associated apps (Dext, Approval Max, Apron), and the monthly payroll in Sage working closely with the Manager. You will need experience of working in a busy finance function and have an ability to work on your own and to deliver competing priorities to deadlines.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Ownership and management of the general ledger.
• Assist with the production of the management accounts preparation (prepayments, accruals, depreciation, monthly journals, deferred and accrued income)
• Obtaining authorisation from budget holders for expenditure using the Apps and managing the organisational purchase order system.
• Cash Management – Prepare and plan payments within timescales of Suppliers via BACS and monitor cash balances across accounts
• Accurate and timely processing of Invoices within accounting system Xero and associated Apps ensuring correct VAT categorisations.
• Process and pay staff and volunteer expenses in line with company policies.
• Managing Petty Cash transactions and reconciling within the accounting system.
• Issue sales invoices to customers based on services provided and track income from Clinical Trials, academic grants and charity grants and invoice accordingly.
• Reconciling all the bank statements within the accounting system.
• Prepare for banking and deposit cash and cheques received on a regular basis.
• Focal point of contact for any finance queries.
• Sales and purchase ledger credit control and maintaining suppliers’ information.
• Prepare, reconcile, and submit quarterly and annual VAT returns.
• Account and reconcile all fundraising income between Xero and Beacon.
• Prepare, reconcile, and submit quarterly Gift Aid returns using Beacon.
• Assist with preparation of monthly payroll using Sage, ensuring timely payments to staff, HMRC, and pension provider.
• Maintain the fixed asset registers including depreciation.
• Assist with the annual statutory account preparation ensuring invoices are correctly filed and ready for inspection.
• Provide ad hoc support to the finance manager when required.
• Support with the development of new systems and procedures

PROFESSIONAL & EDUCATIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES

•  Keep up to date with financial developments and best practice for companies, charities and not-for-profit organisations
•  Comply with all ReMind UK policies and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and mandatory training requirements.
•  Actively pursue training opportunities in Charity Finance, VAT Legislation and other relevant areas.

Engagement Officer

We are looking for an enthusiastic and motivated individual to join the South West and Channel Islands engagement team to support the charity’s exciting work in Guernsey. 

This is a part-time role offering remote working.

Position: S11234 Engagement Officer

Location: Home-based, Guernsey, as part of the South West & Channel Islands locality team. However, extensive national travel will be required as part of this role (may include team meetings or other work related meetings)

Hours: Part-time, 21 hours per week 

Salary: £20,938 per annum (FTE circa £34,800 per annum)

Contract: This is a fixed-term contract until 31 March 2027.

The Role

Reporting to the Engagement Lead for the South West and Channel Islands, the Engagement Officer will work with colleagues across the locality to deliver against engagement activity.

Key responsibilities will include:

• Leading the involvement of people affected by stroke to prioritise our work and improve the experience of people affected by stroke.

• Development of the Stroke Group Network in Guernsey.

• Working with health care professionals, including clinicians, managers and leads.

Main Responsibilities of the post

The Engagement Officer is responsible to the Charity Director for the management of engagement on behalf of SOFT UK, ensuring we are seen as professional, yet warm and welcoming to our service users.

In this role you will manage and maintain our social media strategy with support from our Communications Officer, seeking out new ways to communicate with our community.

This role is community-based and focuses on engaging kinship carers, bringing them together to form Peer Support Groups, and supporting them to achieve independence at which point they will receive ongoing support from our national Hub. You will be home-based with frequent travel across the London Boroughs and the South East of England, but initially predominantly working in and around Greater London.  Note - some work outside this area may be required.

You will do this by working with local authorities, schools, other charities and community groups. Arranging information events such as coffee mornings to engage kinship carers.

You’ll create a welcoming, inclusive, and supportive community for kinship carers, building belonging, resilience, and empowerment.

• Maintain accurate records that are used to populate reports, identify learning and share key insights across Kinship that allow the organisation to continuously improve our services and products

You will be an inspirational and energetic team leader with experience in providing day-to-day line management and operational support for a small team.

Fight Bladder Cancer is a UK-based bladder cancer charity founded and run by bladder cancer patients and their families / carers.

We provide personal support anyone affected by bladder cancer in the U.K. We also help raise public awareness, support medical research, and campaign to influence policy at the highest levels to bring about improvements in bladder cancer treatments.

We may be a small organisation in relative terms, but we are one with big ambitions and for good reason.

The number of people in the UK living with bladder cancer currently exceeds 100,000 and with around 20,000 new cases each year, despite a 16% reduction in instances over the past decade, early diagnosis and treatment remain a key challenge.

About The Murray Parish Trust

Children with a serious illness are three times more likely to struggle with their mental health. Their childhoods are overshadowed by coming to terms with diagnosis, hospital stays, treatment, feeling different from friends or managing how their illness affects daily life. Many of them struggle with severe anxiety and depression, experiencing isolation and trauma during their journey. These children are at much higher risk of long-term mental health difficulties that are more complex and difficult to treat, on top of living with often complex medical needs.

Actors Jim Murray and Sarah Parish’s first daughter, Ella-Jayne, was born with Rubinstein-Taybi Syndrome in 2009 and spent half her short life in paediatric intensive care, Southampton Children’s Hospital. Ella-Jayne died, at home, just eight months old. After they recovered from the immediate horror, Jim and Sarah felt an overwhelming drive to help other children and families and founded The Murray Parish Trust in 2014. They were awarded MBE’s in the King’s New Years Honours 2025 for services to seriously ill children and their families.

Our charity delivers projects that support the mental health of seriously ill children and their families. We improve access to specialist, imaginative and empowering support, at the earliest possible moment, to prevent long-term mental health difficulties. We do this by delivering a vast range of projects in children’s hospitals, hospices and other health or community settings across the UK. The role - Head of Public Fundraising and Operations

This is an exciting new chapter for The Murray Parish Trust. Our new Head of Public Fundraising and Operations will work closely with the Board of Trustees and our Head of Philanthropy and Projects to scale our impact and expand reach nationwide. They will play a pivotal role in leading operations and shaping the charity’s future, as well as leading on growing income from community, corporate, individual fundraising, which have been identified as strategic fundraising priorities.

We anticipate time will be split roughly equally between leading public fundraising and operational management. There is some freelance support with marketing, corporate and community fundraising, and volunteer coordination, plus trustee support with events; there is scope to expand the team as income grows. This role will support their work as well as personally deliver public fundraising activity, taking sole responsibility for individual giving and legacies.

Key responsibilities

World Horse Welfare is an international charity that improves the lives of horses in the UK and around the world through education, campaigning and hands-on care. The International department is responsible for implementing the charity’s strategy in developing countries and aims to improve the welfare of as many working equids as possible.

We are seeking a project manager to join our International team to manage funds, budgets and accounts and become familiar with the working of local administration and legal requirements relating to partner organisations.  This is not a role that is hands-on with Equids, you will be working with people who rely on them for their livelihoods in the community-based projects that underpin the charity’s presence in lower middle-income countries.

If you are a qualified Veterinarian this would be advantageous but not essential, as the focus of this role is Veterinary and Equid Welfare; ensuring that all practices by anyone associated with the programme are of an acceptable quality in terms of welfare and accepted professional  veterinary standards.  Working with Veterinary specialists you will co-ordinate all veterinary perspective discussions on interventions to address equine welfare across the programme. You will stay informed on current practices, related to Welfare and Veterinary intervention in terms of other organisations and institutions (including other welfare NGOs, Governments, or institutions such as WOAH) and represent World Horse Welfare in meetings, conferences, seminars and consultations concerning equine welfare.

Although UK based you will be required to travel internationally at least four times per year. This role is suitable for remote working, however, there is an expectation for attendance at our head office in Norfolk throughout the year and this will be at your own expense for travel and accommodation.

Strategic Financial Management

• Develop and implement the charity’s financial strategy to align it to the charity’s main strategy and support long-term goals.

The Finance and Administrative Project Officer will play a crucial role in ensuring the financial integrity and administrative efficiency of our projects in the DRC. This position involves a wide range of responsibilities, including budget management, financial reporting, and compliance with donor requirements. Additionally, the role includes supporting partner NGOs in their organisational development, ensuring they meet donor requirements, and providing guidance on financial management.
