Volunteer Role: Youth Development Manager

Location: London/Hybrid
We're setting up a new youth work charity in the London area, and we have some exciting opportunities available to launch in the new year. We need a proactive, highly organised, and passionate person to volunteer with us and take on the role of Youth Development Manager. This role involves creating one-off and short-term youth work activities and projects that will help us get started and allow us to create promotional materials and evidence for future services.
We're Urban Youth, a dynamic grassroots youth work organisation based in London. We are dedicated to transforming the lives of young people through engaging and empowering community initiatives. As we await our charity registration, we are driven by the passion and commitment of our volunteers who believe in the potential of every young person.
At Urban Youth, we aim to divert young people away from risky behaviours and crime by providing them with meaningful opportunities and experiences. We understand the significant challenges facing the youth of London today, but we also know that with the right support, they can thrive. Our mission is to create a safe and positive environment where young individuals can explore their interests, develop new skills, and build lasting friendships.
We have some amazing opportunities coming our way, and we need to take full advantage of these to create fantastic opportunities for young people in 2025 and beyond.
As our Youth Development Manager, you would have a range of responsibilities to ensure the effective creation and management of youth activities and projects. Here are some key duties:
-
Activity Planning: Designing and implementing one-off and short-term youth work activities and projects.
-
Promotion: Creating promotional materials and evidence to support future services.
-
Volunteer Coordination: Working with the Volunteer Coordinator to recruit and manage volunteers for youth activities.
-
Engagement: Ensuring young people are engaged and motivated to participate in activities, and also have a voice and assist in co-production of future activities and projects.
-
Relationship Building: Developing strong relationships with young people, volunteers, and community partners.
-
Monitoring and Evaluation: Tracking the success of activities and providing feedback for continuous improvement.
