Job description
About the Scheme:
- The Several Seats Mentorship Scheme aims to empower women aspiring to become mental health professionals.
- The scheme offers personal and professional mentoring and supported learning through a 6 months programme. Mentors and mentees are matched according to goals, skillset and career objectives.
- Members of the programme will be required to meet at least once a month.The programme operates on an online cloud-based application (and mobile app) which allows relationships to be managed remotely, with opportunities to meet face to face in Luton.
What you'll be doing:
- Meet virtually or in-person with your mentee at least once a month
- Be able to communicate with your mentee via email
- Draw up a timetable in advance of regularly spaced meetings and establish a set of ground rules to which you will both abide.
- Maintain a session log, including session sheets and action plans, which will act as the basis for ongoing discussion.
- Work towards developing a trusting relationship and establishing a good rapport with your mentee.
- Undergo training on the principles and fundamentals of mentoring, coaching and relationship building to support your mentee with their career, confidence and improve your own skillset
What we need from you:
- Be part of the Programme from July to January
- Location: Remote (Zoom platform), in-person Luton events
- Cost of Programme: FREE
- We want to represent the communities that we serve, therefore we will favour applications from candidates belonging to diverse backgrounds and lived experiences
- Meet virtually or in-person with your mentee at least once a month

About you:
- Polite, clear and compelling verbal and written communication
- A friendly and positive attitude
- A passion for career development, the mental health sector and female empowerment
- Educated and experienced in the psychology/mental health sector and ready to share your knowledge with an aspiring woman
