About the volunteer role

The aim of our volunteer assistant role is to provide administrative assistance and support to the volunteer officer in volunteer projects and day-to-day management of volunteer processes covering complete volunteer lifecycle.

Key tasks

  • Administration of volunteer data. i.e. entering new volunteer information and updating any changes to their records in database.
  • Assist volunteer officer in the day-to-day management of the Retail Volunteering digital enquiries inbox.
  • Assist volunteer officer in appropriate placement of volunteers.
  •  Support with queries received from the shop and central services teams in relation to volunteers.
  • Support volunteer officer in ensuring compliance with volunteer processes.
  • Assist with volunteer audits, regular filing and archiving of the volunteer files.
  • Support with the completion of volunteer references, flagging any potential issues to the volunteer officer for prompt action.
  •  Send out volunteering related materials to shops & field teams in a timely manner.
  • Support with volunteer project administration.

About You

  • ·         Good communication skills
  • ·         IT literate & comfortable in using MS office applications – Outlook, Word, Excel
  • ·         Good organisational skills
  • ·         High attention to detail

Experience & skills you will gain

  • ·         Experience of working as part of a team
  • ·         Experience of working within a volunteer administrative role
  • ·         Experience of data administration
  • ·         Exposure to key stages of volunteer lifecycle and the relevant processes
  • ·         Exposure to project administration
