Job description

As a Volunteer Assistant Roller Sports Coach, you will be instrumental in delivering engaging and effective roller sports training sessions. This role is pivotal in fostering the skills and development of participants from various backgrounds, ensuring a positive and inclusive environment.

 

Essential Criteria:

1. Experience and Skills:

· Prior experience in wheeled sports, specifically roller-skating or inline skating.

· Ability to assist in planning and executing sports sessions effectively.

· Competence in implementing safety protocols and ensuring the well-being of all participants.

· Capable of actively participating in and potentially leading diverse activities including lessons, community projects, and social events.

· Strong observational skills to continually monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of coaching sessions.

2. Personal Qualities and Attributes:

· A genuine enthusiasm for working with children and young people.

· Excellent communication skills, capable of maintaining clear and positive communication with participants and team members.

· Strong organizational skills with an ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently.

· A motivational presence within the team, fostering a supportive and inclusive training environment.

· High levels of self-motivation and independence, with the initiative to seek continuous personal and professional development.

3. Availability:

· Flexibility to work during evenings, weekends, and school holidays as required by the training schedule.

Desirable Criteria:

1. Educational Background:

· Formal training or qualifications in sports coaching, education, or a related field would be beneficial.

2. Additional Skills:

· Previous experience in a mentoring or leadership role within community projects or youth programs.

· Familiarity with administrative tasks related to sports coaching such as maintaining attendance records and session assessments.
