Volunteer Opportunity: Receptionist 

Location: Dudley Town Centre office (DY1 1NP) and/or Wolverhampton City Centre Office (WV1 3NX)

Closing Date: 22nd July 2024

Are you passionate about helping others and making a difference in your community? Citizens Advice Dudley and Wolverhampton are looking for a number of dedicated volunteer receptionists. This role involves providing reception cover in our two offices and ensuring clients feel welcomed and directed when they come in to our offices needing support.

No experience necessary.  Full training given.

Purpose of the Role:

• Provide effective and efficient reception cover at our Dudley Town Centre and/or Wolverhampton City Centre office.

• Ensure clients feel welcomed and valued from the moment they step into our space, creating a warm and inviting atmosphere that promotes comfort and trust.

• Complete an initial assessment (triage) through actively listening, showing empathy and understanding  

• Refer clients to the appropriate services or advisors based on their needs.

Minimum Commitment Required: 1 day a week (you can volunteer if you want up to 5 days a week), volunteering between the hours of 9am – 4pm, can start 10am and finish at 3pm if needed) for minimum 6 months commitment.  

About You

You will be:

• Be friendly, empathetic, and have great listening skills

• Able to show attention to detail and ability to handle sensitive client information.

• Patient, calm, understanding, and have a positive attitude.

• Competence in using IT (ability to use the internet, email, word).

• Reliable, and punctual.

• Able to work unsupervised and as part of a team.
