Job description

Age UK Bristol are looking for a dedicated Admin Support Volunteer to join our friendly, dynamic and vibrant office team.

Do you enjoy working within a close-knit team? Are you passionate about interacting with and  supporting members of the community? Does the idea of being involved in a Bristol-focused charity, working to make a positive and empowering change within the community, excite you? If so we would love to hear from you!

At Age UK Bristol, we want to change the way we age. We aim to keep people aged 55+ well and active, encouraging Bristol to be an Age Friendly city. We do this in 3 ways - through providing practical help and supporting people’s emotional and physical wellbeing in a range of ways depending on their needs.  In addition, we want to prevent people from needing our help wherever possible.  We do this in our strategic work, where we aim to create the conditions for older adults to remain healthy and independent.

The role involves

  • Supporting service delivery with varied administrative tasks and projects under the support and supervision of the Office and Resources Coordinator, for example;
  • Making outgoing calls to clients (for example to book/reschedule appointments or provide signposting information)
  • Sending printed materials by post  and supporting mailouts.
  • Carrying out research on activities for older people in the community
  • Helping to organise events and meetings

The qualities and skills required for this role are

  • Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail
  • Good listening and communications skills
  • Enjoys working in a team and supporting other AUKB staff and volunteers
  • Confident using Microsoft packages including Word and Excel, new applications and software, including data entry
  • Willingness to learn new IT software as needed
  • To have an understanding of the needs of older people
  • To have an understanding of the barriers older people may face
  • Punctuality and reliability
