The Role: Operations Manager
We are seeking an inspiring and dedicated Operations Manager to play a key role in our organisation, leading and supporting our passionate staff team of eight people and managing daily operations at M13 Youth Project, supported by and reporting to the Founder.
You will lead on the smooth running of operations, working closely with youth work staff to nurture a trusting, inclusive and dedicated working culture, which enables staff and young people to feel safe, valued and hopeful and to develop excellent work together.
You will be responsible for overseeing the ongoing development of our staff team, including scheduling staff and activities, managing working hours and absence, line managing staff, supporting recruitment, induction, disciplinary and grievance processes and being the first point of contact for the team.
This role requires experience and capability in managing processes and people, with good organisational skills, attention to detail, emotional intelligence and dedication to completing tasks. Empathy, good sense, creativity and ability to manage competing priorities are essential, along with the ability to co-design solutions to effectively manage any issues arising in the office environment, whilst ensuring high quality youth work and excellent external relationships with partners.
Whilst knowledge of and previous experience within a youth and play work context is not a requirement, you will have an appreciation of and commitment to seeing children and young people’s lives enriched, and to developing an understanding of our approach to youth and play work. If required, the Founder will continue as Designated Safeguarding Lead and professional practice supervisor of youth & play work staff.

Role Purpose
Southwark Cathedral has been a place of Christian worship for over 1400 years. Now it stands on the vibrant and exciting regenerated south bank of the Thames surrounded by cultural venues such as Tate Modern, Shakespeare’s Globe and Borough Market, the offices of major companies as well as schools and diverse residential communities. This is a key role at Southwark Cathedral supporting the Dean. This secretarial role will primarily feature management of a busy personal diary, correspondence and broader administrative support for the Dean in his capacity as Dean of Southwark, Chair of Chapter and CEO of the Cathedral.
The role holder will also support the Cathedral team as the Office Administrator – responsible for a range of office duties relating to staff wellbeing & socials, office equipment & spaces and the Cathedral’s general enquiries email address.
Main Duties and Responsibilities
For the Dean
- Manage the Dean’s diary: including making appointments, arranging meetings, scheduling preaching and other liturgical arrangements, programming annual schedules (such as Bishops Staff Meetings, chaplaincy and wider public commitments) - keeping Outlook diaries up to date with any changes and making travel arrangements;
- Prepare the Dean’s weekly diary file, including the preparation of any meeting papers or briefs for the week ahead;
- Provide administrative support for the Dean in relation to their attendance at meetings associated with the governance of the Cathedral, including Chapter, Finance Committee, Audit & Risk Committee, Nominations Committee, Fabric Advisory Committee and Board of Enterprises. This will include liaising with colleagues on the Dean’s availability for upcoming meetings, any research the Dean requires and preparation of paper packs for such meetings. Minute taking will not usually be required, but may be requested from time to time in liaison with members of staff usually responsible for the minutes;
- Draft, file and send outgoing correspondence on the Dean’s behalf and process incoming correspondence;
- Support the Dean in all their working relationships including building and maintaining excellent relationships with Chapter Members and Committee Members, the Bishop’s staff and with the wider Diocese, as well as with congregation members, neighbours, commercial partners, professional advisers and other third-party organisations relating to the Dean’s work;
- Set up meetings including room set up and refreshment provision as required;
- Assist the Dean with the processing of their expenses;
- Work with the Governance & Committees Manager on Gifts Registry declarations for the Dean;
- Provide administrative support to bodies the Dean chairs, e.g. Southwark Cathedral Development Trust, the Deans Fund and other Cathedral-associated bodies;
- Assist the Sub Dean and Precentor with administrative tasks as requested;
- Update the Cathedral database in support of the Dean’s work.
Office Administration
- Receiving, distributing and responding to emails sent to the Cathedral’s general information email address;
- Ordering stationery, office equipment and consumables in line with the Cathedral’s approach to sustainability and ethical buying;
- Ensuring the Cathedral’s printing and franking equipment is kept fully functional, and liaising with our contractors when issues arise;
- Ensuring that the offices, reception area, print room, stationery area, staff kitchen and facilities are kept clean, tidy and supplied;
- Co-ordinating Staff Meetings, including booking suitable space and organising refreshments for the meeting;
- Organising staff social events, outings and meals;
- Providing administrative support on Cathedral projects as and when they arise.

Terms and Conditions
Working Hours
The working hours shall be 35 hours per week (exclusive of meal breaks), over five days. Some out of hours working will be required to support meetings and events and this will be notified in advance. Time off in lieu will be awarded in line with Southwark Cathedral’s policy.
Annual Leave
25 days per annum as well as statutory bank holidays and an additional day at Christmas, with an additional 5 days annual leave after 10 years’ continuous employment.
Probation
The appointment is subject to the satisfactory completion of a six-month probationary period.
Season Ticket Loan
Once the probationary period has been completed satisfactorily, the person appointed will be eligible to take out a season ticket loan.
Pension
The person appointed will be eligible to join a defined contributions pension scheme managed by the Church Workers Pension Fund. The Cathedral will contribute half of the annual premium of 10% of salary.
Working Expenses
Reasonable out of pocket expenses will be reimbursed.

This is an exciting opportunity to help Cambridge City Foodbank (CCFb) realise it’s vision of ending the need for foodbanks by assisting the development and smooth running of our Fairbite Food Club network, in support of the Fairbite Development Manager. The Fairbite Food Clubs provide affordable food to those in need for a small membership fee, as well as a sense of community and wrap around support such as financial advice. Main Duties
● Liaise with Fairbite Food Club coordinators on a range of operational issues, such as stock needs.
● Order stock through a variety of routes, e.g. supermarket, fruit and vegetable suppliers, FareShare etc.
●Look into alternate supply chains, to ensure we are getting value for money.
●Assist with the day to day running of Fairbite Food Club Arbury, such as arranging the volunteer rota, training new volunteers, checking stock needs.
●Help with maintenance issues arising relating to the Fairbite Food Clubs, such as new equipment needs or arranging to get equipment fixed.
●Ensuring that Fairbite Food Clubs are compliant with food safety and health and safety regulations.

JOB SUMMARY
Taking overall responsibility for the office-based functions that enable Pathway Project to undertake client facing work, she will provide direct line management for the Pathway Project Data analyst, Fundraising, Office administration and Awareness teams. She will be responsible for the delivery of high-quality support to the volunteers who choose to support our Charity whilst ensuring staff and volunteers are well trained to deliver their roles to the best of their ability.

DUTIES OF POST
1. STRATEGY, PLANNING AND CONTROL
a. To contribute to the setting of long-term Objectives, along with the CEO & Board.
b. To contribute to and implement the volunteer strategy to ensure the Charity is offering quality volunteering experiences.
c. To contribute to and implement the outreach and fundraising strategic plan to ensure the Charity is optimising fundraising.
d. To support the Charity to operate to best practice standards, adhering to regulatory and financial controls. Highlighting to the CEO risk which could cause harm to the ongoing operation of the Charity.
e. Ensure Pathway Project reports to funders are accurate, timely and all reporting is aligned to funder requests.

2. FINANCIAL MANAGEMENT
a. To manage a budget for volunteers and fundraising ensuring return on investment can be quantified and resources are capitalised on.
b. To provide financial oversight on proposed fundraising activities or projects, including consideration on cost, ROI and income source where applicable.
c. To efficiently manage and procure goods that will create and generate income and report on the ROI for these goods.
d. To manage the recording of all donations of goods, services or products and ensure accurate reporting of donation usage.

3. GOVERNANCE & REPORTING

b. To support in the development of a suite of monthly reporting for the Charity to funders.
c. To ensure funder and grant maker reporting is submitted efficiently and accurately in a timely manner as per the funder’s requirements.
d. To maintain up to date policies and procedures in respect to your areas of business.

f. To ensure accurate record keeping and data security.
4. LEADERSHIP
a. To provide role model leadership to the Pathway Project, embodying the charity’s values and behaviours.

6. GENERAL MANAGEMENT AND ADMINISTRATION
a. To arrange enabling services team or wider staff meetings.
b. To ensure volunteers are recruited and inducted into their new roles effectively with formal role profiles.
c. To ensure there is a formal CPD route for volunteers and we offer the right training at the right time.
d. To ensure there is a formal training plan for staff who supervise volunteers so that every volunteer gets a fantastic experience at Pathway Project.
e. To ensure a record of staff training is maintained and training opportunities are explored regularly.
f. To ensure the volunteer policy and all procedures remain up to date and fit for purpose.
g. To participate in the on-call management rota for accommodation support when covering for staff absence or sickness.
h. To help support the continued use and development of OnTrack case management and database system throughout Pathway Project to ensure the system generates the data that we need to evidence performance.
i. To ensure the safe operation of general office services at the Hope Centre.
j. To deputise for the CEO where required, alongside other management.

Person Specification
Essential
Demonstrable experience of working in the domestic abuse charity sector and expert knowledge of the domestic abuse sector.
Experience in managing teams at a high level with strong team building and leadership skills.

We are seeking an experienced and dynamic individual to join the BFYC team to support young carers in West Oxfordshire.
Working closely with the youth work team, you will help to provide support and advice to young carers by devising, developing, implementing and managing a programme of social activities for young carers (this could include trips, training, emotional 121 support and other activities).
Job Description - Key Responsibilities
- Provide one-to-one support for Young Carers, liaising with other agencies to help ensure the best outcomes for Young Carers;
- Establish relationships with schools across West Oxfordshire offering them support in how they identify and respond to the needs of young carers in their classrooms.
- Assist schools in launching Young Carers Groups and introducing Young Carer Leads in their settings.

Core Responsibilities:
1. Supervising CareTrade Café throughout the school year (including half terms)
2. To work with the Café and Kitchen Manager to write and prepare training materials for the Trainee Café Assistants

Feeding Families is an award winning pioneering charity at the forefront of tackling food insecurity across the North East. We are not a traditional food bank, but instead offer a unique and compassionate solution to those who face barriers to accessing conventional food provision.
