Key Responsibilities:

• Lead the day-to-day operations of the Trust, implementing the strategic decisions of the Trust Council and ensuring organisational objectives are met.
• Represent the Trust in all public matters, fostering strong relationships with residents, external partners, and stakeholders, including professional bodies and local government.
• Ensure the Trust's financial sustainability, including effective budgeting, forecasting, and resource management.
• Oversee the Scheme of Management, ensuring alterations to properties adhere to the Trust’s guidelines and contribute to the preservation of the Suburb’s heritage.

Sounddelivery Media is a dynamic charity that seeks to amplify lived experience stories and expertise to address social inequalities. We work alongside people with direct experience of injustice and inequality to advocate for themselves and their communities.

Our Spokesperson Network constitutes a network of media savvy spokespeople, who have direct experience of social injustices. Developed collaboratively with a network of leaders with lived experience, it aims to diversify the voices we hear in the media and make it more representative of the society we live in. Through training, media mentoring, peer support and speaking opportunities, we tackle the barriers that prevent these experts from engaging with journalists who have the power to influence coverage and ultimately drive change.

Members of our network have spoken on all the major news outlets from BBC Newsnight, BBC Radio Four, ITV News, to the Times, the Guardian, places where they can reach audiences of millions and have influenced documentaries and a storyline for a high profile drama. Building trusted relationships with lived experience leaders is key, and you will ensure that all engagement is grounded in ethical, trauma-aware, and holistic support.

Sharing knowledge with other charities supporting Spokesperson Networks
You will help share what we learn through our work with other charities and learn from them too. Using peer-led sessions to share best practice, challenges and ideas for charities working to amplify the voices of people with direct experience of social injustice.

We are hiring a Grassroots Development Officer at BVSC on a 2 year contract. Responsible to the Funding and Development Manager, the role of Grassroots Development Officer will be to support the growth and sustainability of small voluntary, community, and social enterprise (VCSE) organisations in Bexley. This role is funded by the VCSE Capacity Building & Infrastructure Fund 2024/2025 through the South East London Integrated Care System (SEL ICS) and aims to enhance the effectiveness of smaller, often informal groups delivering services that are both ‘by and for’ their service users that are crucial in addressing local health and wellbeing needs for the ‘under-served’ but face significant challenges in visibility and support.

The Grassroots Development Officer will be responsible for providing a wide range of organisational development support services and activities to assist grassroots VCSE organisations to develop, thrive and remain sustainable. This role is particularly interested in working with groups who deliver services to young people, the elderly, minority ethnic (global majority) and migrant groups, those with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND), and residents in the north of the borough (areas with high deprivation and a higher proportion of small groups). 
You will be led by the VCSE sector within Bexley to ensure services are accessible, connected, consistent and to a high standard. Development work strives to build the capacity and capabilities of local groups, provide partnership/networking opportunities that enable them to carry out their own objectives effectively and offer high quality services. You will work flexibly and nimbly to provide consistent and seamless support to organisations. You will support across the whole spectrum of charity development, but focus on EDI (Equality, Diversity and Inclusion), governance, funding, safeguarding and developing a holistic training package in a variety of formats suitable for grassroots VCS organisations.

About this Role

We are looking for a part time Information & Advocacy Community Support Worker in Scotland.  You will be home based living in the North of Scotland.

You will ensure that service users (children and adults) and their families, receive high quality support, from the point of diagnosis and throughout their journey, and will assist them to access funding, equipment and care and support that they are entitled to. You will join a team that makes a real difference to the lives of the people living with muscle-wasting conditions, and their families, in Scotland. The role will be primarily home based, but there will also be a requirement to attend outpatient clinics within the region, attend home visits where appropriate and to support responding to queries through the helpline and information inbox. Some travel will be required to attend meetings and events outside of Scotland. This role is an integral part of Street League’s Commercial Team and will play a key role in maximising our income from corporates as you lead a highly successful team to manage, develop and grow our portfolio of corporate partnerships.

Role:

As an integral member of Street League’s Fundraising team, you will be responsible for maximising our income from corporates as you lead a highly successful team to manage, develop and grow our portfolio of corporate partnerships. This will include the development of new business, relationship management and stewardship of existing corporate funders as well as managing all corporate financial targets. Reporting into the Commercial Director you will also work closely with other members of the Senior Management Team across the charity.

About the NEL VCSE Collaborative

The North East London (NEL) Voluntary, Community and Social Enterprise (VCSE) Collaborative works closely with the ICB to work together strategically by shaping, improving and delivering services and contributes to the system design and organisational development of the ICB, ensuring Voluntary, Community, Faith and Social Enterprise (VCFSE) contribution.

The leadership group of the seven borough representatives meets monthly and is currently working to develop a VCFSE strategy to raise the profile of the sector and support the VCFSE to work in partnership with the health system to address local health inequalities and improve the health outcomes of the communities in NEL. We are now keen to expand our work and recruit a Chair.

Purpose of the role

• Provide influential and inspirational leadership to ensure the Voluntary, Community, Faith & Social Enterprise (VCFSE) sector is an equal partner in the North East London (NEL) Integrated Care Partnerhsup (ICP). 
• Develop and maintain excellent relationships with health and social care stakeholders ensuring networks are kept informed of the Collaborative’s progress
• Advocate for the VCFSE sector and mobilise innovative approaches to support the health and wellbeing of NEL community
• To lead the NEL VCSE Collaborative, interfacing with the Partnership Development  Director to drive forward the interests of the NEL VCSE Collaborative and the wider VCFSE sector it represents
• To act on behalf and represent the opinions and interests of the NEL VCSE Collaborative on relevant ICS boards, in particular as the NEL VCSE Collaborative representative on the NEL ICP
• To chair the leadership group meetings of the NEL VCSE Collaborative
• Ensure NEL VCSE Collaborative meetings are planned effectively, conducted according to the principles and agreements in place, and facilitated in collaboration with the Partnership Development Director

Key functions & Tasks (Role Description)

• To lead with compassion and inspiration to ensure strategic influence of VCFSE at system level to better enable integrated working approaches between system leaders and sector partners
• Work with the NEL VCSE Collaborative members to ensure they are effectively represented and actively involved across the structures that form the ICS 
• Together with the Partnership Development Director, produce a quarterly budget report and  regular updates including  emerging opportunities and risks in a timely fashion
• Work with the Partnership Development Director on producing quarterly budget reports
• Lead and work with the NEL Collaborative to identify and communicate strategic and business development goals which are in line with community and ICS outcomes
• In collaboration with the Partnership Development Director, plan and Chair the NEL VCSE Collaborative meetings and ensure relevant business is discussed with clear actions
• Ensure that the NEL VCSE Collaborative leadership group adheres to the Terms of Reference (ToR) and Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) in place and membership is fair and reviewed regularly with actions and conflicts of interest appropriately managed

Person Specification

• Demonstrable understanding and experience of the current and emerging challenges and opportunities within the regional Health and Care system and the local VCFSE
• Experience of working with the VCFSE sector at a strategic and senior management level, including championing and advocating on behalf of the VCFSE sector  
• Demonstrate excellent knowledge of VCFSE and healthcare related policies with an understanding of the issues facing the VCFSE at local, regional and national level

Please note that this role requires flexibility to allow for changes to the weekly rota to meet the needs of our clients. The Family Centre is open on Saturdays and will require some Saturday working. The work pattern rotates from Tuesday – Saturday or Monday – Friday.

Your new role

• This role will be leading the month end balance sheet reconciliation for cash, credit cards and intercompany accounts. They will be managing external relationships with payment card providers (WorldPay, AMEX, Adyan, Sumup, Nayax, Shopify) Trusts and Individual Donors.
• Responsible for allocating receipts & payments against invoices on the AR and AP ledger and correct coding of grant/sundry income and expenditure.
• Responsible for uploading and coding of all bank transactions (multi-currency) on a daily basis for the charity and its commercial entity, including the correct VAT treatment of income and expenditure, recording of foreign exchange differences on 8 live bank accounts.
• Responsible for monthly bank reconciliations of all bank accounts
• Responsible for control account reconciliations and allocation of transactions on control accounts for cash, streamline, all credit card providers, debtors' suspense & CAF and Intercompany accounts.
• Leading the advice to Education, Fundraising, Marketing and IOZ around monies received and returned via bank transfers from Donors or via the DD's route
• Monitoring cheque and CAF payments for un-cleared items and follow up .
• Investigate and seeing through to a successful resolution, any reconciling differences as and when they occur, ensuring any issues are settled in a timely and efficient manner and brought to FAM's attention.
• Accountable for the preparation and posting of Cash and Cashbook journals from the bank accounts on a timely basis and hitting month end deadlines.
• Responsible for investigating unallocated receipts in suspense account and allocating these to the relevant income streams
• Ensuring effective quality control and continuous improvement in all aspects of the work and responsibilities attached to this role and provide enhancements/ recommendations to FAM to safeguard that there are no auditor points raised.

• Able to work autonomously, prioritise and work efficiently in a fast-paced but supportive environment.
• Ability to complete the role with minimal supervision, and know when to communicate issues to FAM.
