The role

You’ll be key to delivering our corporate partnerships income strategy, identifying and driving vital new business as well retaining longer term support from priority sectors. As Corporate Partnerships Manager you will be responsible for driving income growth and leveraging Ovarian Cancer Action’s increasing levels of brand awareness and creating compelling, mutually beneficial partnerships. Global Fund for Children is looking for a Development Officer to join our global Strategic Partnerships Team in an exciting new UK-based role. Your main responsibility will be to help steward our active relationships with donors and supporters around the world, manage delivery of key grant outputs, and build relationships with philanthropic funders and foundations.

 This role will require engagement with our global staff team, alongside senior leadership and key stakeholders, and our expansive network of community partners around the world. You’ll help to develop strategies that build our relationships with key donors, ensuring all our reporting output is of a consistently high quality. This role will have a truly global reach with a primary focus on supporting programming and donor relationships for our work in the UK, Europe and Africa.

 You will be passionate about maintaining the quality and performance of all our outputs to donors and supporters, and have a track record of being highly organized, an ability to manage multiple priorities and an ability to work to a deadline, to ensure we achieve our ambitious goals and objectives. 

 You will be just one part of a growing and extremely ambitious and successful Development, Marketing and Communications (DMC) team based in the UK, US, and around the world. You will play an important part in the successful implementation of projects with our staff team based in more than 20 countries globally – including colleagues from Programs, Finance, Learning & Evaluation, and Safeguarding.

 What will you be doing?

• Manage the global calendar of donor deliverables for the Development team

• Consistently create and deliver compelling reports and other donor deliverables, according to our grant agreements, including collecting data, writing content, reviewing financial information, and ensuring compliance details.

• Work collaboratively across the Development team, engaging with key stakeholders, to deliver on strategic goals and KPIs.

• Liaise with Program and Finance colleagues to share grant requirements and reporting expectations, build reports and deliver high -quality stewardship items. 

• Work alongside the team to keep an accurate record of donor relationships in Salesforce, including stakeholder information, notes from meetings, reporting and submission deadlines, and correspondence with donor staff 

• Build and develop new relationships with prospective foundation donors and foundation fundraising strategy in collaboration with Senior Manager and Vice President for Strategic Partnerships 

• Represent the organisation, both internally and externally where opportunities arise, including donor visits, public events, and partner convenings 

• Keep abreast and keep the wider team updated of best practices and trends in the philanthropy sector, scoping out strategic opportunities to help us engage new prospective donors

• Contribute to the development of a strong values-based team culture across different countries, areas and streams of work

Salary – UK-based salary range for this role will be £40,000 - £45,000, depending on experience

Weekly hours – 35 hours per week.

This 12 month project will help load accurate new and historic data onto our new CRM, MS Dynamics. We are looking for a self-motivated individual to lead our Programmes Team whilst our current Director of Programmes is on maternity leave. The role will be fixed term from December 2024 until January 2026, although there may be further opportunities beyond the length of the contract depending on organisational growth.

The Director of Programmes will be a key member of CoachBright’s Senior Management Team, and will have input on both operational and strategic decision making. Whilst we will expect your input on matters relating to programme delivery and impact, all members of SMT are expected to contribute to decision making across the organisation. The primary responsibility for the Director of Programmes will be to recruit school partners for our EEF trial, with delivery beginning September 2025. This trial is to test the impact our Peer to Peer coaching programme (Y10s coaching Y7s) can have on the maths attainment of disadvantaged pupils. The trial will require us to recruit 100 participating schools, 50 of whom will receive the intervention, with another 50 allocated to a control group.

Working alongside the CEO and the Programmes Team Leader, you will create and execute a strategy to recruit new schools as participants to this trial. As a result, experience of managing sales or partnerships with schools, or existing connections with senior leaders at secondary schools and multi-academy trusts, would be beneficial.

Alongside this, you will line manage our current Programmes Team Leader, who directly line manages our team of Programme Managers. From Sept 2025, we are expecting our Programmes Team to grow, and you will play a key role in recruiting for that expanded team. At that point, we would expect you to begin line managing a small number of Programme Managers directly.

EEF Trial

• Write and execute the strategy to deliver our EEF trial. This will primarily involve recruiting and onboarding 100 schools to participate from January 2025 through to July 2025, for programmes to begin in September 2025.

Leadership

• Be a key member of the Senior Management Team, working alongside the trustees, CEO, Director of People and Operations, and Director of Finance to drive high quality leadership and decision making.

• Work alongside the CEO to develop and define strategic priorities and targets for programmes.

• Align programmes team around organisational strategy and ensure buy in.

People Management

• Line manage our Programmes Team Leader, who will directly line manage all of our Programme Managers. We expect the number of team members you directly manage to increase as our Programmes Team grows.

• Support the Programmes Team Leader with development and delivery of programme KPIs and ensure that Programme Managers are delivering effectively and developing in their roles. 

• Identify skills gaps and development needs for the Programmes Team and work with the Director of People and Operations to develop a training plan for the team to support with programme delivery. 

• Deliver yearly performance appraisals for direct reports.

Programme Delivery

• Overseeing the management of programme delivery in schools to meet KPIs, predominantly those related to our EEF trial.

• Leading the implementation of our primary and secondary programme delivery processes. This will include but is not limited to:

  • Staff guides and handbooks: codifying our ways of working.

  • Simplifying and automating tasks via our Monday platform. 

  • Joining up all strands of programme delivery (school induction, launch, training, impact measurement, sessions, graduation and review).

• Ensure that programmes team adhere to CoachBright’s safeguarding, health and safety and GDPR policies and procedures.

• Ensure systems and processes are working for the Programmes Team to effectively deliver programmes.

• Ensure programmes are delivered to a consistently high standard, including ensuring that our quality assurance and impact evaluation frameworks are being used consistently.

• Oversee the budget for programme delivery including printing cost, room bookings and programme events.

Programme Design and Impact

• Project manage the development of programme resources including workshops, session plans and launch and graduation materials, particularly those related to the EEF trial.

• Work with our Data & Impact Manager to capture programme impact via feedback forms, Impact Reports and Annual Reports.

Safeguarding

• Act as CoachBright’s National Deputy Designated Safeguarding Lead (DSL).

• Support the National DSL in developing and establishing CoachBright’s organisation’s approach to safeguarding.

• Support the National DSL with the coordination of the distribution of policies, procedures and safeguarding resources throughout the organisation.

• Provide safeguarding advice and support to staff and volunteers.

Key Information:

This role is in the High Value Relationships Team, reporting to the head of the team and leading on developing and embedding Mencap’s prospect research strategy to ensure a steady flow of prospects into the High Value pipeline. As part of the role, you will undertake research to identify new major donors, trusts and influencers as well as managing your own small portfolio of prospects. Mencap will support your development and training to manage and solicit gifts and become a vital part of the philanthropy team and in development and cultivation of the major donor programme.

To be successful in the role of Prospect Research Officer, you will need:

• Strong written skills that would allow you to write compelling funding applications and proposals
• Proven experience of using data management, with strong IT skills

The Partnerships Coordinator will work closely with the Partnerships & Communications Lead and share some responsibilities. You duties will include: 

• Grant Writing: Write compelling grant applications, funding proposals, and update reports to secure funding from various sources, including trusts, liveries, and corporate foundations.

• Research: Identify and research a pipeline of realistic funding opportunities. 

• Donor Relations: Develop and maintain strong relationships with existing donors and prospects, ensuring their continued support and engagement with EFA's work.

• Fundraising Strategy: Contribute to the development and implementation of EFA's fundraising strategy. Support on diversifying our income streams, focusing on other areas of fundraising such as statutory, corporate giving, individual giving, membership, and events. 

• Collaboration: Liaise closely with the Partnerships and Communications Lead, Hub Leads and Project Managers to plan and develop strong funding proposals that align with EFA's strategic objectives. 

• Database Management: Maintain accurate records of donors, grants, and funding opportunities on Donorfy. Communicate effectively with the finance team.

• Monitoring and Evaluation: Help to monitor and evaluate the outputs and outcomes of our projects, and maintain accurate records of grant conditions.

About EFA

English for Action provides free, participatory, and empowering English for Speakers of Other Languages (ESOL)  classes for migrants in London. Our classes are spaces to build community and support students to organise collectively around issues like employment and housing rights. Our work currently supports around 400 adult migrants across London. We’ve become a national centre of good practice for a radical participatory approach to ESOL, informed by the work of Paulo Freire, and we share this approach through training, research and partnerships. 

Organisation: We are a staff team of 8 people supported by a larger team of volunteers and 9 trustees. EFA promotes shared leadership and collaboration and we aim for our organisational structure to reflect this. In the last 4 years we’ve transitioned away from having a CEO to an executive team to oversee operations and decision-making. As a charity, ultimate responsibility for, and control of, the organisation lies with the Board of Trustees. 

Fundraising at EFA: We have one permanent fundraiser at EFA, who works two days per week on this area of work. The majority of EFA’s funding comes from charitable trusts and foundations but we are also funded directly by some of our partner institutions to provide courses for their members. We receive some local authority/EU funding as well. We raise additional funds through individual giving, corporate relationships and earned income. We are keen to explore new areas of fundraising and/or develop some of our less well established income streams.
