Job Title: Prospect Research Executive (hybrid/flexible working)

Overview of the Role:
We are looking to recruit a Prospect Research Executive to join our supportive and friendly team. The Prospect Research Executive will report into the Development Engagement Manager in a dynamic Fundraising team and will play an important part in building philanthropy at the Royal Horticultural Society (RHS), providing research to support fundraisers to make informed decisions to engage, cultivate and solicit gifts from prospects and peer to peer networks.
The RHS already has an enviable network of contacts supporting our work, but we need to expand our network of trusts and major donors to help fund our ambitious targets. You will provide insights into new areas of prospecting to continually replenish the prospect pipeline with high-capacity prospects to meet current and future income targets.
In this role you will lead on researching both trusts and individuals, producing donor profiles, reports and biographies with great attention to detail, allowing fundraisers to make informed choices and maximise opportunities on a variety of fundraising activities. You will also be responsible for producing due diligence reports and have a working knowledge of GDPR best practice.
You will have a strong understanding of fundraising, together with experience of researching high net worth individuals, company directors, and or family trust and foundations boards, the ability to use a CRM database, along with a genuine desire to help us access some of the biggest funding sources available.

The Consultant role will support the Director and Mobilise team to coordinate and deliver a range of projects supporting our clients. Our Little Stars project for 0–12-year-olds has been established for over 5 years supporting younger members and their families with their diagnosis and beyond. We also have a growing Teen membership known as FIRE (Friendship, Independence, Resilience, Equality) Working alongside our multi skilled, established team, you will be supporting members across all age groups and building on the great foundations already in place.
We are looking for an Early Intervention Project Worker who can cover the South of England, primarily you will be home based, supporting members through phone calls and using online platforms. You will be required to attend clinics, events and meet members one to one where necessary within your allocated area and occasionally across wider areas and nationally.
Purpose of the role

To deliver Shine's Little Stars (funded by The National Lottery Community Fund) project for 0–12-year-olds, supporting early years and younger members with their families, their diagnosis and beyond across the Southern Region. To provide advice, support and guidance to enable people with Spina Bifida and/or Hydrocephalus to access the correct benefits to become financially stable, the right services to improve their health and well-being, and to better co-ordinate their support and independence through a variety of methods.

Summary of the role:
As the Business Development specialist, you will be taking on a leadership role in the organisations plans for seeking growth in new markets through institutional relationships. These include (but are not limited to): the Middle East (Qatar, UAE, Saudi Arabia and Kuwait), Canada, and Europe. This is a senior technical position that performs a variety of complex business development work across the organisation.
About the Role:
- Develop donor and new market engagement strategies and associated implementation plans
- Engage internal and external senior stakeholders, influencing as needed to ensure that your team can maximise all opportunities.
- Engage, build and manage relationships with targeted donors in new selected markets. Coordinate efforts with other team members responsible for income generation from Trusts and Foundations, corporate donors, and high-net worth donors.
- Lead a comprehensive donor scoping and mapping exercise for donors in targeted new market. Continuously, update this mapping document based on engagement with prospective donors.
- Identify and track relevant upcoming funding opportunities – through advance intelligence gathering, partner relationships, and other available resources
- Provide grant management oversight on portfolio of grants funded by new Market donors and serve as primarily focal point for donor communications.
About You:
To be successful in this role you will need:
- Postgraduate degree in international development, sustainable livelihoods, humanitarianism, programme management, or equivalent.
- Understanding of development programmes design, implementation and evaluation.
- Knowledge of overseas markets and/or experience of successfully fundraising in a different market to the UK. Experience with Middle Eastern Donors is highly desirable.
- Experience of successfully fundraising and dealing with institutional donors and international donors, with a focus on Trusts and Foundations.
- Excellent technical skills in writing, editing, formatting, research, negotiation, and verbal communications.
- Excellent networking and influencing skills, both internal and external. Specifically experience of supporting cultural change within an organisation, influencing sideways and upwards to gain buy in and active support from senior staff as needed.

Our small, ambitious team works in a collaborative and supportive way. A big focus of the role is prioritisation and planning, so you’ll support the Director of Programmes, Head of Impact & Effectiveness and wider team to prioritise, forward plan, manage diaries and prepare for meetings. You will have responsibility for supporting a Trustee level grant making committee. - Act as a strategic business partner and trusted advisor to senior leaders, developing excellent working relationships with the Senior Leadership Team, providing sound senior level HR advice, using data and insights to inform decision-making and drive performance.
