Flint House Police Rehabilitation is a registered Charity offering rehabilitation services to ill or injured serving and retired police officers suffering from a wide variety of physical and mental health conditions. Every year we treat over 3,000 police officers. Located just outside Goring on Thames in our beautiful Flint House and set in 20 acres of ancient woodland, this role will play a crucial role in  support our mission and ensure the financial sustainability of the Charity.

Supporting the CFO in the day to day financial management of the Charity and working alongside the Finance Assistant this role combines robust financial management along with payroll operations, ensuring the accuracy, timeliness, and compliance of the Charity’s payroll processes. This generalist role also includes overseeing the production of the monthly management accounts, statutory financial statements, forecast and budgets, quarterly VAT returns, and other statutory returns, including co-ordinating the annual external audit. This role is central to ensuring the Charity’s financial and payroll systems operate seamlessly, maintaining compliance while delivering excellent service to stakeholders.

Principal Accountabilities

Financial Management 

• Compile and analyse financial information to prepare financial statements, including monthly and annual accounts. 
• Ensure financial records comply with accepted policies and procedures, and all reporting deadlines are met. 
• Prepare financial management reports and ensure accurate and timely monthly, quarterly, and year-end closes. 
• Contribute to the planning and production of annual statutory accounts, working closely with external auditors. 

Compliance and Taxation 

• Oversee statutory returns for VAT, Partial Exemption, and other compliance schemes, ensuring adherence to tax regulations and meeting all deadlines. 
• Keep updated with changes in accounting and tax legislation affecting the charity sector, implementing necessary changes as required. 

Budgeting and Strategic Analysis

• Manage and support budget and forecast activities, analysing financial operations, including revenue, expenditure trends, and financial commitments. 
• Regularly report on key performance indicators and recommend strategies for efficient resource use and process improvement. 

Payroll Management

• Prepare and run the monthly payroll process, ensuring deadlines are met, and pay, pensions, and statutory deductions (e.g., tax, NI) are accurate and compliant with regulations. 
• Maintain and update SAGE Payroll systems, guaranteeing timely and correct payments to employees and external bodies such as HMRC. 
• Serve as the primary point of contact for all payroll-related queries, offering excellent support to employees and stakeholders. 
• Regularly review payroll processes to identify and implement improvements, ensuring efficiency and compliance. 

System and Process Development

• Support the development and maintenance of finance systems, improving accounting controls and reconciliation processes to ensure data integrity. 
• Proactively review and enhance processes related to payroll, accounting systems, and internal controls. 

Other Responsibilities

• Support the CFO in treasury functions and deputize for them as necessary. 
• Provide training and guidance to both finance and non-finance colleagues. 
• Deliver exceptional customer service to internal and external stakeholders. 

Essential Qualifications and Experience

• Qualified Accountant with a strong background in payroll management. 
• Advanced spreadsheet skills and ability to develop robust financial models. 
• Demonstrated experience in managing monthly payroll processes and handling confidential information appropriately. 
• Proficiency in preparing management accounts, financial statements, forecasts, and budgets. 
• Strong communication skills to present financial information and deliver training effectively.
• Demonstrated expertise in financial and payroll systems

Desirable Skills and Knowledge 

• Familiarity with SAGE Payroll and Sage Line 50 packages. 
• Understanding of regulatory requirements and governance within the charity sector. 
• Previous experience with Direct Debit Schemes, Large Donor Programs, and Gift Aid.

About the role 
 

We are seeking a PR and Communications Manager to join our ambitious team. We know that incredible work goes on behind the scenes at Smart Works, and that what we do meaningfully helps to change the lives of thousands of women every year. But we need you to help us shout from the rooftops about our service and impact, actively seeking media opportunities and press coverage, to increase our public profile. Your work will make a real difference – spreading the Smart Works message not only to the women we exist to support, but fundraisers, referral partners, volunteers and the public too.  

Duties and responsibilities

1. You will amplify and lead existing integrated campaigns, including the Smart Works Unemployment Index, International Women’s Day and International Day of the Girl. With the support of the Digital Marketing Manager, Graphic Design Manager and Digital Communications Manager, you’ll ensure our campaigns are widely noticed and talked about, in the press, online and local community.
2. You will develop and manage media opportunities (proactive and reactive), including owning our press office, writing and distributing press releases, building relationships with journalists, tracking coverage, and briefing spokespeople. 
3. You will lead and develop our Client Champions programme and case studies, ensuring the client remains central to the charity’s external voice, proactively seeking opportunities to tell their stories to encourage support/donations from external communities, and managing any nationwide communication moments/events.
4. You will support our engagement with Patrons and Ambassadors, managing relationships where appropriate and seeking new advocates who can authentically help tell our story, to reach more people. 
5. You will lead the coordination of our internal communications calendar and reporting, working with internal stakeholders across Partnerships, Operations and our local centres to ensure that key moments are recognised, with support at a national level where appropriate.
6. You will support with other team tasks, such as social media scheduling and content creation.

The successful candidate will report to our Director of Communications and Marketing. The role has no line management responsibility but will work closely with colleagues – including our Digital Marketing Manager, Digital Communications Manager and Graphic Design Manager – so you should be used to collaborating with others, in a dynamic environment.

The successful candidate will work with the UistWind Management Committee, its members and associated parties, to manage the Community Benefit Society’s operational business needs, meeting compliance requirements while working to maximise generation and revenue from two 900kW wind turbines at Criongrabhal near Clachan-na-Luib in North Uist for the benefit of the local community.The successful candidate will also work with NUDC and the wider community, to develop and implement both a community development plan, and a community investment plan for the UistWind community benefit fund, which takes account of opportunities to enhance the socio-economic, cultural and environmental welfare of the North Uist and Berneray area.

What you’ll do

As a Research Manager, you will play a pivotal role in shaping our banking survey. Through your work, you will have the opportunity to influence the banking sector’s approach to sustainability by highlighting areas of improvement and leading practices among Europe’s largest banks. In close collaboration with colleagues in the Banking Standards and Financial Sector Research teams, you will:

• Lead survey development: Oversee all aspects of our banking survey, from designing methodology and collecting and analysing data to producing engaging written outputs and data visualisations that summarise key findings. You will coordinate the project from start to finish and liaise with multiple stakeholders, ensuring that surveys remain consistent with other ShareAction benchmarks and align with our campaign priorities.
• Conduct thematic research: Undertake research and engage with internal and external subject matter experts to inform positions on themes covered in banking surveys, ensuring that surveys are based on robust criteria and reflect the latest market developments.
• Engage with key stakeholders: Design engaging presentations and present survey findings and recommendations to banks, investors, and other stakeholders. You will act as an internal and external spokesperson for the banking survey, with the support of the Communications team and members of the Banking team. Additionally, you will contribute to external consultations and coordinate data-sharing initiatives with partners.
• Contribute to monitoring, evaluation and learning: Support the development and implementation of a monitoring, evaluation, and learning strategy for our banking surveys to continuously enhance their impact, relevance, and delivery process.
• Support funding and resource development: Assist with funding bids to secure resources for the survey’s continued growth and impact. You will also be responsible for hiring and managing additional researchers when necessary.

What you’ll bring to the team

ABOUT THE JOB

Job Purpose 

We are looking for a passionate and driven individual to join our tight knit team and make a real impact. A key member of the finance team, working closely with and supporting the Finance Manager, in a welcoming and supportive environment with opportunities to learn and grow on the job.

Key Responsibilities

Day-to-day finance processes

• Assume responsibility for managing the finance inbox; answering queries from colleagues; students, commercial customers, and suppliers.
• Ensure supporting information for transactions is correctly stored in electronic format on Teams such as bank statements, remittance advices, credit statements.
• Assist the operations and administration teams as and when required, including with the preparation of internal reports.
• Other ad hoc support to the finance team as may be required including administrative duties.

Accounts Receivable

Accounts Payable process

• Whilst the bookkeeper is responsible for making all payments, the Assistant Finance Manager has a key role in liaising with the bookkeeper and the Finance Manager, to jointly ensure that all invoices are paid on time.
• Providing cover and setting up payments when the Finance Manager is not available.
• Determine most efficient payment platform to process international payments and ensure these are recorded in the finance system at the correct conversion rate.
• Work closely with the bookkeeper to ensure accurate and timely recording of all approved supplier invoices, requisitions, staff expenses and other expenditure and that all supporting documentation for all transactions are uploaded.
• Carry out monthly Creditor account reconciliations ensuring that all balances are valid and backed up with appropriate supporting documentation.
• Assist with the set up all payroll payments in time for the monthly pay day. This involves ensuring correct amount (which may differ from the salary of the individual’s employment contract) and method of payment across all HQ staff.

Budgeting, management accounting and forecasting

• Assist the Finance Manager and CEO with the preparation of the annual budget, quarterly management accounts and forecast.

Year End Audit

• Assist the Finance Manager with answering queries form auditors and completing balance sheet reconciliations.

Systems and Processes

At the Gestalt Centre we’re in the process of updating and embedding new systems and processes and this role will assist that work. For example, we have recently implemented new educational management and room booking systems and this role will be involved in supporting the integration of the finance and education management software.

The Ukraine Humanitarian appeal raised £439 million and helped an estimated 6.9 million people in Ukraine and neighbouring countries. The Grants Manager is integral in working closely with DEC colleagues and members to build and sustain, a solid understanding of the evolving humanitarian context. The Grants Manager will maintain strong oversight of the DEC funded programme including the reporting cycle, adaptive programming and facilitate strong and relevant engagement with DEC member charities and local partners and external briefings over the duration of the response.

Key responsibilities:

Communication and Collaboration

• Key programmes point of contact regarding the DEC funded programme, responding to enquiries from member charity programmes and other related staff, facilitating timely and accurate communication.
• Maintain strong understanding of response context.
• Manage and provide timely, response briefings to internal and external audiences, key stakeholders including the Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office [FCDO] and, other key stakeholders.

Analysis and Reporting

• Review, evaluate, and advise on member charity plans and reports for consistency, trends analysis and coherence of data across submitted documentation.

• Support with real-time reviews, community perception studies and other related MEAL activities.

The Felix Project is London's biggest food redistribution charity and the largest end-to-end food redistribution charity in Europe.  

The Felix Project is a dynamic, ambitious charity working to make London a city where no one goes hungry and good food is never wasted.  

We rescue high quality, fresh and nutritious food that cannot be sold from nearly 500 suppliers including supermarkets, wholesalers, farms, restaurants and delis. We sort and deliver this food to charities, schools and community projects supporting London’s most vulnerable people.

The Felix Project is growing fast in response to huge demand. Set up in 2016, we now have around 160 staff working alongside 8,500 volunteers. We have four main operating depots spread across London - in Deptford, Enfield, Park Royal and Poplar. Purpose of the Job 
The Recruitment and HR Operations Manager will report direct to the Head of People and lead the end-to-end recruitment and HR operations for our organisation. This role combines the strategic elements of recruitment with operational HR responsibilities, including payroll oversight, HR systems management, and occasionally employee relations support. This role will be line managing the People Officer and People Administrator, who will provide support on the below functions.

An exciting job for a motivated, experienced retail manager, that wants to really make a difference. The Store Manager will oversee and expand our charity retail operation at our superstore on Barns Road in Oxford.

Our mission is ending homelessness and you can play a vital part.  The Store Manager is responsible for running our thriving store, selling donated furniture and household goods seven days a week and driving revenue to support our work. This exciting role also involves managing a strong team of staff and volunteers to meet income targets and enhance a thriving, profitable, retail social enterprise. The role supports our values and brand and provides effective leadership, training, and development to staff.  Working closely with our Learning & Development manager and Community manager delivering work experience and learning and development opportunities to the ex-homeless men and women [known as companions] who live within the nearby Emmaus community. Your role will embrace customer service, merchandising, staff supervision and everything else you’d expect in a retail environment, plus overseeing house clearance services and a fleet of five vans that play a crucial role to collect donated items and deliver customer purchases. 

There will never be a dull day in this role and it will suit an individual that is flexible, committed and gains fulfillment from not only acheiving sales targets but also helping people acheive positive change in thier lives.

The Postgraduate Diploma in Children and Young People’s (CYP) Psychological Trainings: Therapy is one of the national CYP Mental Health (CYPMH) workforce development programmes, funded by NHS England. This stems from an established programme with an existing team that has run successfully since 2011 when the CYP-IAPT initiative was first introduced and a service transformation programme began, aimed at improving existing CYPMH services.

The Programme Director will lead on the management and operational delivery of the programme, which includes delivering and developing the programme in line with the NHS England National Curriculum, whilst also ensuring it is in compliance with evolving University College London (UCL) academic governance and quality assurance and enhancement frameworks. Our Postgraduate Studies (PGS) department is made up of several other Programme Directors, Deputy Programme Directors, teaching staff and operational support staff, who all contribute in fostering a supportive and collaborative working environment and excellent student experience.

We are seeking a mental health professional with experience of curriculum design, assessment and programme organisation within an Higher Education context. You will demonstrate experience of working in CYPMH services, leadership skills, and the ability to work cross-culturally in relation to clinical practice. A commitment to delivering high-quality standards in teaching and assessment, and fostering a positive and inclusive learning environment for trainees to enhance student experience is significant for this role. Hybrid working (a mixture of onsite and home/remote working). Staff are working onsite for at least 20% of their working hours at our London site (4-8 Rodney Street, London N1 9JH). Some flexibility will be required to attend teaching days and staff/team events in-person.
