Salary - £27,590 (14.15) per hour.

Sleep in shifts paid at £96.00 per shift.

• As a Senior Children’s Residential Support Worker, you will work as part of a residential childcare team providing support for the children and young people with their physical, emotional, and social needs with an emphasis on promoting their personal growth and independence.

• Working on your own initiative and as part of a team, you will be to preparing and assisting the children and young people to fulfil the aims of their person-centred plan.
• You will support the children and young people to start to develop life skills and work closely in a team that has a passion to improve their lives whilst in our care.

About you….

We look for applicants who have the following skills.

• Completed the QCF level 3 / 4 in Children, young people, and family’s practitioner qualification or equivalent to be eligible to apply for this position.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills, a large part of this role you will be working with Social Workers and parents.
• Previous experience in keyworking with the young people that we support, including primary responsibility in complex cases and being able consider the feelings and the wishes of the young people that we support.
• Previous experience in shift leading, supervising team members in the absence of the Registered Manager / Assistant Manager, including contribution to assessment and appraisal of the team.
• Have a sound knowledge around the safeguarding of the young people that we support.
• A good standard of written English and IT skills would be essential, you will be writing reports and keeping record of the Children and Young Peoples progress.
• Transporting children / young people to an activity or school is a requirement. A driving licence that has been held for 12 months would be desirable.

Why does Travel Hands exist?

Think about your daily journey. How many intersections or staircases do you navigate, signs you pass by, paths and roads, or changes at the tube or bus stations? How many people cross your path, only for you to have to suddenly change direction? Now think about how much harder your day would be if you were partially sighted, or blind: this is what it’s like for the 285million VIPs in the world.

And no, this is not a niche problem. For these people, navigating busy urban landscapes can be extremely challenging. Guide dogs can offer huge support, but with the cost of breeding, raising, and training the dog (and their eventual user) approaching £63,000, it’s not an option for most. TfL currently offers VIP, Freedom Passes to travel for free and has a system in place where blind people can ask for on-platform assistance. But even walking to the bus stop or to the tube station is tough. Even for the shortest distances, a VIP must face the hassle of booking a taxi when making an unaccompanied journey. The trip is normally made through a phone call and entails an average waiting time of 20 minutes, despite being a brief 10-minutewalk.

About Travel Hands

Travel Hands charity relieves the needs of Visually Impaired People (VIP) by facilitating safe, convenient, and inexpensive outdoor travel so they can attend formal appointments, recreational activities and community events.

With our technology, a journey request is sent by a VIP or the backend team on behalf of VIPs to nearby available volunteers. The accepting volunteer will pick up the VIP and walk towards the requested destination. We operate in a hybrid model: call center and mobile-web apps. The customer service monitors the journeys of our users when they are active for improved safety.

The VIPs pay a small fee per journey and Volunteers flexibly help VIPs and walk more. They are vetted by the Enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) and trained with our online or in-person course. As a Thank You, our volunteers get reward incentives that can be redeemed from our app.

We have completed 750+ journeys in London and won awards from the Beyond Business Program by Investec Bank, Money4U Dragon’s Den, UnLtd, School for Social Entrepreneurs, Big Issue Invest and the European Space Agency, etc. We are looking to expand the reach of the service and create further impact in 2024.

We seek a Business Development Executive (BDE) who can help us expand Travel Hands as a vital charity for people with visual impairments. The BDE will ensure the objectives of the growth plan are reviewed and delivered.

As a new BDE, this position has responsibility for the delivery of marketing and business development services. You will share the mission of Travel Hands to make sure our voice is heard and that we can continue to inspire our communities further.

You will be working with the CEO of the organization and developing the partnerships with:

We know there is a growing need for Education Other Than at School packages (EOTAS) of support for children and young people with Autism who are not yet able to access education in a school environment. This role would be to support students with school-based anxiety who are not yet ready to access a school environment. The role would also entail working at Inscape House School as part of the main teaching team.

Inscape House School is a non-maintained ASC specialist day school for children and young people aged 5 to 19 years. It is part of the Together Trust, a charity that has been providing care, education and support in the Northwest of England since 1870. The post holder will be a member of Inscape House School on the Cheadle campus and part of the EOTAS Outreach Team.

Previous experience of working with students identified as autistic.

In the absence of the Assistant Food Service Manager, the Front of House Team Leader will step in to oversee operations and maintain service quality.

Windsor Road service offers 11 beds to people experiencing mental ill health.  We are a CQC registered residential care home. We offer individual one to one interventions and sessions such as social anxiety, anxiety, finance and budgeting, positive self-image, building self-esteem, support with diet and nutrition, healthy eating, sleep hygiene, DBT skills, building resilience, life skills, solution-based therapy, stress management etc. We offer a range of activities in our service planner including a daily coffee morning, a ‘here and now’ group,  community gardening, cooking, arts and crafts, social inclusion and family and friends’ days.  We support our residents with daily living skills where this is needed, such as support with shopping and cleaning tasks, this could include prompting or supporting alongside them. We also work closely with other agencies and our residents wider care teams, so good communication skills are required. And of course, all of this is recorded on our information management systems, so good record keeping and documentation is also essential. Our service consists of 8 24/7 Recovery Workers, a Service Manager and Registered Manager.

We know that recovery can look and feel very different to each and every one of us. But we also know that if we provide the right support, at the right time, we can inspire recovery nationwide and that recovery is possible for everyone. That’s where you come in. Responsible for helping and inspiring the people who use our services to achieve independence in the community, we’ll rely on you to work with them to come up with a person-centred support plan that will see them achieve their goals and aspirations, as part of your key worker role. Whether it’s developing their domestic and finance management skills or accessing work or volunteering or educational opportunities, one thing’s for sure ‐ you will have every chance to shine.

Care home, mental health support or social care experience is preferred. You will be required to administer medication and complete a medication qualification and the care certificate. Candidates with an understanding of mental health issues and/or lived experience would be welcomed. More important is your caring and compassionate nature and empathy and enthusiasm for helping others. About the role

The Finance and Risk Manager will be a member of the Reaching the Last Mile project (RLM) supporting NTDs Elimination Programme Management Office (PMO) and will report to the Director, RLM and Finance Manager. Reaching the Last Mile (RLM) is a high profile, high value, multi-partner programme, which will make a significant contribution to the control and elimination of the Oncho LF.

The Finance and Risk manager will be responsible for supporting in-country financial oversight, maintaining consolidated programme accounts, cash flow management, payment processes and ensuring that the risk mitigation strategy is applied throughout the project. This resource will work closely with the Finance Manager, the Head of PMO and implementing partners to ensure the financial principles of the contract are complied with and that proper accounting records are maintained for reporting to RLM donors.

Further duties include:

• Financial Oversight: Conduct reviews and provide feedback on financial documents for RLM and other programmes, ensuring partners and Sightsavers' staff maintain rigorous standards.

Ensure conformity to the principles of the contract with specific emphasis on:

• Financial Management & Controls.

• Financial Planning, Budgeting and Forecasting.

• Financial Monitoring & Audits.

• Monitor and retain financial record.

• Verify claims by partners and recommend for payment.
• Support the preparation of  monthly invoice to send to RLM donor.
• Support, administer and strengthen financial management, accountability and capacities of partners in accordance with the principles of the contract.

As the ideal candidate you will hold a professional accounting qualification (ACCA) or a Masters qualification, or bachelor's degree in accounting. You will have extensive working experience in a similar, ideally in an INGO environment, and have a background in financial management of Donor Funds, DFID and USAID.
