About the role 

With ambitious targets to support thousands more children by 2029, Chapter One is seeking a passionate, energetic Fundraising Officer to be an integral part of our Fundraising team. Reporting to our Trusts & Foundations Manager, you’ll generate income from a range of existing and new trusts and foundations, along with individual fundraising activities to contribute towards the 2024-25 fundraising target of £278,000, rising to £348,000 in 2025-26 in which you’ll have an individual target.

This new role is ideal for an early career professional who can write creative, compelling bids and build impactful relationships to make your mark in a fast-growing charity which is flexible and agile. You’ll be a proactive, determined self-starter and have high standards for yourself and others. You’ll develop and manage a funding pipeline by investing in thorough research and relationship cultivation, and you will thrive in working with funders, partners and supporters on a day -to-day basis. 

Key Responsibilities

Deliver the fundraising plan 

● Work collaboratively with the Trusts & Foundations Manager to grow Chapter One’s fundraising portfolio and meet agreed income targets from trusts and foundations. 

● Maintain a portfolio of existing trusts and foundations, ensuring an excellent cultivation and stewardship journey​ in order to build relationships and maximise income. 

● Proactively identify and research new prospective trust funders, finding creative ways to engage with them to secure support.

● Create compelling and tailored fundraising applications and reports, ensuring there is a strong emotional case for support and accuracy, to inspire prospects and supporters across trusts and foundations. 

● Contribute to the highest levels of donor care for supporters, including creative stewardship, adhering to all grant conditions and responding in a timely manner to all enquiries from supporters and prospects. 

● Research, interpret and present data about literacy and impact that makes a compelling case for Chapter One’s programmes. 

● Contribute to internal planning and budget setting for restricted and unrestricted activities, setting out clear plans and a pipeline for income generation from trusts and foundations.

● Work with the Trusts & Foundations Manager, Corporate Partnerships team and Communications team to support the development of strategies and campaigns to grow individual giving from existing volunteers and supporters.

● Undertake administrative duties to support the delivery of individual fundraising initiatives including matched-giving campaigns and Payroll Giving. 

● Work closely with the Trusts & Foundations Manager, Business Development Manager, Corporate Partnerships team and Communications team to ensure a cohesive approach and maximise all fundraising opportunities.

General

● Oversee and maintain specific fundraising administrative processes, including

recording of activity on the Salesforce CRM and internal databases.

● Maintain up-to-date knowledge of fundraising regulations, networks, and developments across the sector. 

● Adherence to Chapter One’s Donation Acceptance Policy.

● Contribute to forecasting and regular reporting, producing verbal and written reports for senior management as required.

Age UK Mid Mersey are offering a great opportunity to join our professional, innovative and dedicated team to help launch a new lottery funded Maintenance Cognitive Stimulation Therapy (MCST) programme in Mid Mersey’s four boroughs: Halton, Knowsley, St Helens and Warrington.

Maintenance Cognitive Stimulation Therapy (MCST) is a weekly group programme for people living with mild to moderate dementia or cognitive impairment. 

Group members take part in meaningful and stimulating activities, proven to help maintain memory and mental functioning. The groups provide a fun, supportive environment where people can build new friendships. 

Activities include: 

• discussions 
• word games 
• quizzes 
• physical activities 
• creative and musical activities. 

Cognitive Stimulation is the only non-drug treatment recommended to improve cognition, independence and well-being by the National Institute for Health and Care Excellence (NICE). 

Alongside the MCST group sessions the programme will also provide advice, information and facilitated peer support for the carers of groups members. 

The MCST Team Leader will lead a small team of MCST group facilitators, Carer Support workers and volunteers.

The Team Leader will plan programmes, provide support and supervision to staff, and ensure compliance with relevant guidelines and standards. They will be responsible for undertaking initial assessment visits with clients in their own homes to ensure the MCST programme is appropriate for them.

Travel across Mid-Mersey is expected so the post holder must have access to their own vehicle and a full clean driving licence. 

Full training in MCST will be provided alongside management training and mentoring.

Age UK Mid Mersey has just been awarded National Lottery funding to develop and deliver evidence-based Maintenance Cognitive Stimulation Therapy (MCST) group programmes for older people experiencing cognitive impairment or who are diagnosed with mild to moderate dementia.  MCST is a weekly group programme for people living with mild to moderate dementia or cognitive impairment. Group members take part in meaningful and stimulating activities, proven to help maintain memory and mental functioning. The groups provide a fun, supportive environment where people can build new friendships.

The programme will be overseen by an MCST Team Leader and delivered by a team of four MCST Facilitators, who will work in delivery pairs, and two carers support workers. One MCST Facilitator pair will deliver 2 group sessions a week in Halton and Warrington and the other pair in St Helens and Knowsley.

We are recruiting four part-time MCST Facilitators who will work in delivery pairs. One pair will deliver group programmes in Halton and Warrington and be based in our Runcorn Office. The other pair will deliver programmes in St Helens and Knowsley and be based at our head office in St Helens.

The facilitators will work closely with the MCST Team Leader to plan and deliver MCST programmes in their two Boroughs. Each programme will run for 12 weeks and will consist of four-hour activity sessions with a shared lunch. Facilitators will adapt the session delivery to meet the needs and specific interests of group participants ensuring the sessions are engaging and meaningful.

Facilitators will also work closely with the carers support workers and ensure that joined up support is provided to participants and their significant others.

Travel across Mid-Mersey is expected so the post holder must have access to their own vehicle and a full clean driving licence.

Fighting With Pride is a ‘lived experience’ LGBTQ+ military charity, created in January 2020.

FWP supports LGBTQ+ veterans, serving personnel and their families.  This support focuses on those who were affected by the ‘gay ban’.

The Chief Executive is responsible for providing leadership, developing, and implementing FWP strategic and operation plans, leading on partnership and development across Government, military charities and key stakeholders and being an advocate for the charity and its beneficiaries. They will be responsible for ensuring financial control and supporting and advising on good governance across all aspects of the Charity. This post directly reports to the Chair and Board of Trustees. 

The role is full-time, 37.5 hours per week and is on a permanent employment contract.  The salary is up to £60,000 per annum.

Duties and Responsibilities

Leadership

Be the principal ambassador of the charity.

To work in close partnership with the Chair and Board of Trustees to design, shape and implement the new strategy.

Lead, support, and motivate all staff, creating a positive culture throughout the organisation, delivering the charity’s aims, objectives, and ambitions.

Seek out, develop, and maintain effective working relationships with the Government and all relevant stakeholders to promote the work of the charity and facilitate the implementation of its strategic objectives.

Oversee the designated safeguarding lead ensuring the safeguarding of the vulnerable adults with whom the charity works through rigorous DBS procedures and staff training.

The CRM Marketing Officer is a new role within Anna Freud, supported by significant investment in the CRM systems and marketing resource. UK-Med is a frontline medical aid charity. Born of the NHS, we’ve been working for over 30 years towards a world where everyone has the healthcare they need when crises or disasters hit.

As the focal point for UK-Med’s Telehealth and Capacity Building in Sudan project (REACHES Sudan), the Project Lead will play a critical role in delivering this 10-month initiative, funded by the Sudan Humanitarian Fund and in collaboration with Relief International. The project aims to provide integrated, life-saving healthcare to vulnerable populations in Sudan through innovative remote telehealth and capacity-building interventions.

The Project Lead will focus on designing and coordinating impactful training programs for healthcare workers, ensure learning is aligned and developed based on real-time needs, and managing digital capacity building and telehealth delivery platforms. This role includes working closely with the Health Advisor and senior leadership to develop and document UK-Med’s telehealth methodology, paving the way for sustainability and future use in emergency response programming.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in learning and capacity building, preferably with experience in designing and piloting new training methodologies. Ideally you will be able to use your experience in humanitarian programming to ensure that solutions are fit for purpose, impactful and accessible in complex humanitarian emergencies. You will have excellent project management skills and the ability to adapt to evolving needs.

What we are looking for:

· Knowledge of the policy and political landscape developed from previous experience working in a policy or public affairs role, either in government, the civil service, charities, or non-governmental organisations.

· Proven experience developing and delivering public affairs strategies and leading influencing activities.

· Proven experience producing policy papers and applying policy research skills, such as evidence gathering, analysis and reporting.

· Proven experience as a strategic and analytic thinker who can influence policymakers with persuasive arguments, policy ideas and campaigns.

· Proven ability to manage a wide range of internal and external stakeholder relationships, including at senior levels, and to engage with people with diverse viewpoints and backgrounds.

The Vacancy

Part Time (21 hours) Learning and Development Officer. Aligned to East Anglia District

Are you passionate about helping to further the mission of our churches, circuits and districts? Are you an excellent facilitator and educator? Do you have imagination, creativity and a pastoral heart for understanding rural communities and those living on the edge? If you are, we would like to hear from you. As an experienced professional with a proven track record in learning and development, you will be part of the GB-wide Learning Network of the Methodist Church, encouraging and resourcing life-long learning.

This position is aligned to the East Anglia Methodist District and will work with circuits and churches in rural, coastal and urban settings. The role includes a wide range of learning and development activities within the life of the church. These are aimed at supporting, encouraging and inspiring the church in living out ‘Our Calling: to respond to the gospel of God’s love in Christ and to live out its discipleship in worship and mission’. The Learning Network works primarily with lay and ordained church leaders, equipping them as they in turn seek to equip all God’s people.

As the successful applicant aligned to the East Anglia District, you will work with other team members across Learning Network and the wider Connexional Team, to support, encourage and inspire Methodist people in all aspects of their calling as together we seek to be an inclusive, justice seeking, evangelistic and growing church.

About you

The role includes:

enabling, equipping and resourcing through preparation, delivery and evaluation of a wide range of contextually relevant learning and development activities, events and initiatives, both for onsite and online contexts;
supporting circuits in exploring vision and developing mission plans;
facilitating effective and potentially transformational conversations on a variety of subjects;
helping churches in their commitment to support the Church’s aspiration to be inclusive, justice seeking, evangelistic and growing;
working collaboratively with colleagues to plan, develop and review learning and development programmes;
contributing your particular gifts and experiences to enhance learning and development across the connexion
a requirement to travel, and work during some evenings and weekends
a requirement to live within the East Anglia District of the Methodist Church
a requirement to be a member of a church in good standing with Churches Together in Britain and Ireland or equivalent.

Key skills include:

Building good relationships with the Districts and with individuals and communities across the church and beyond;
Good communication (including digital mediums), planning, organising, and leadership skills;
An understanding of safeguarding;
Supporting adult learners;
Theological thinking and the ability to facilitate others in developing theological conversation;

Regional Safeguarding Manager (South East)

The Methodist Church in Great Britain is committed to ensuring its churches are safe spaces for all. We work hard to ensure compliance with legal requirements, develop good practice, provide effective training and give professional advice on individual cases.  We have an exciting opportunity to join our new safeguarding service and take forward this work supporting Methodist churches and work. The post holder will work alongside the Director for Safeguarding in some strategic duties, and will line manage a regional team of Safeguarding Officers who will carry specific responsibility for individual cases and risk assessments, training and advise to churches. The post predominantly covers the districts in the South East and will involve regular travel. The post holder is required to be home-based within the South East region. 
 

The successful candidate will hold a relevant professional qualification and extensive relevant experience and expertise in child and/or adult protection.

• You will supports ongoing GDPR compliance and data security by maintaining and updating data policies, participating in reviews, supporting teams, and assisting with the effective management of data subject access requests and data breaches.
• You will provide administrative support to the training team, using Salesforce to follow up and report on enquiries.
• You will assist with the documentation and tracking of partnership agreements and deliverables, and onboarding requirements of clients and funders.
• You will provide ad hoc support to the wider team with administrative tasks to ensure smooth operational delivery

About you

• You will have proven experience in a busy operations support role; excellent organisational and time management skills, with attention to detail and the capacity to manage multiple priorities effectively and meet deadlines.
• You will have experience with data protection and privacy requirements, including implementing GDPR-compliant processes, managing sensitive data securely, and providing practical guidance and training to others. 
• You will have experience of using Salesforce or another similar CRM to manage and report on data.
• You will have exceptional written and verbal communication abilities, including the ability to present data insights visually and clearly.
• You will have experience in supporting operational processes, such as managing expenses, coordinating logistics, and contributing to process improvements.
