The Trusts & Foundations Manager role is a hybrid position for University Hospitals Birmingham Charity, which is the official charity of Good Hope Hospital, Heartlands Hospital, Queen Elizabeth Hospital Birmingham and Solihull Hospital and Community Services.
The Trusts & Foundations Manager will work closely with other members of the hospital charity, providing support to the fundraising team and the Charity overall.
Working as part of a team, the person in this role will have specific responsibility for researching and applying to grant-making trusts and foundations and identifying where the work of the Charity meets the application criteria.
They will write or complete applications and build relationships with existing and potential funders. They will also be responsible for managing members of the team who are currently applying to Trusts and Foundations and supporting them with their applications.
The Manager is also responsible for the Trusts and Foundations database and building on this.

About the role:
The Fundraising Lead will be responsible for building and maintaining corporate partnerships that increase income and diversify funding. The post holder’s primary focus will be community organisations, businesses and other bodies.
You will support the organisation to deliver services and support for unpaid carers. You will be engaging with a wide range of stakeholders, and drive fundraising efforts, community engagement, gifts-in-kind, volunteer engagement and awareness raising.

All that now remains is the # 7 Bottle Shop – a fine example of what was once one of the first regenerative tank furnaces in the world. The site is a Scheduled Ancient Monument, Grade II Listed, and on the Heritage at Risk Register since 2002.
In the ownership of the Cannington Shaw Preservation Trust, the site is about to undergo a transformation as the first phase in restoring the building begins thanks to a £1.3m grant from the St Helens Town Deal.
A partner in the process, Groundwork Cheshire Lancs & Merseyside are leading on a project to develop and deliver a Heritage Skills Academy that aims to link the opportunities presented by the conservation and restoration of the building with local people wishing to develop their skills – with a particular focus on heritage construction skills.
This role is designed to provide practical hands on experience of working on a live heritage project, allowing the successful applicant to develop their experience of partnership working, – as well as a wide range of heritage skills, crafts and techniques.

2. Experience:
Essential:
- At least three years' experience leading in a communications and campaigns role in a comparable organisation, leading successful campaigns to further organisational objectives.
- Proven experience in executing multi-channel paid and low/no cost integrated communications campaigns (owned, earned and bought) to drive advocacy / behaviour change.
- Experience in managing communication projects resulting in effective events or activities.
- Experience in creating and implementing innovative, bold and effective communications ideas that gain traction.
- Experience of evaluating communications and campaigns and measuring impact.
- Experience in managing budgets and financial planning for campaigns.
- Proven experience of adapting communications approaches for a range of stakeholders to create maximum impact.
- Experience of briefing, commissioning and collaborating with communications, campaigns or creative freelancers and / or agencies.
- Experience working in a sector relevant to Myaware UK - understanding the UK healthcare landscape.

This is an exciting 12-month opportunity to help transform our internal communications channels and produce content which engages, informs, and inspires our colleagues.If you love writing and have a creative spark – this could be a great fit. We’re also creating a new intranet – and we really want you to play a central part of delivering that exciting programme too.
As well as that you’ll get to work closely with our senior leaders and colleagues from across the Foundation to support on some exciting change programmes as we strive to become a great place to work. Some of the key responsibilities within this role will be:
- Creating and managing content for our internal communication channels, including e-newsletters, intranet, emails, and presentations.
- Playing a crucial role in working with us to deliver a new SharePoint intranet.
- Work with our People team and other departments to support employee engagement initiatives.
- Monitor and measure the effectiveness of our content, channels, and campaigns.
- Provide guidance and support to managers and employees on communication best practices.
