About the Project

Our Future Youth service provides one to one mentoring support, delivered face-to-face in the community for a period of up to 6 months (depending on the needs and goals of the young person).

This service is available to young people aged 12-18 who are living in East and North Hertfordshire (or attending a school in this area), who are experiencing mental health problems.

Service Objectives

The objectives of Hertfordshire Mind Network’s Future YOUth service are:

• To improve the mental wellbeing of children and young people experiencing mental health issues in Hertfordshire.
• To provide high quality 1:1 face-to-face mentoring support, tailored to the individual and incorporating all facets of the young person’s life.
• To be a key service within the CYP MHS system, offering and increasing early access to community based help regarding mental health and emotional wellbeing.

Purpose of Post

The key purpose of this post is to be an integral member of staff delivering the Future YOUth mentoring service. You will provide 1:1 mentoring support for children and young people aged 11-18 who are currently facing mental health problems. Our mentoring service provides 1:1 mentoring support face-to-face in the community for a period of up to 6 months, depending on the needs and goals of the young person. Our mentoring approach is centred around combining practical and emotional support to aid young people in reaching their goals associated with their mental health and emotional wellbeing.

Your role as a Youth Mentor will be to meet young people on a weekly basis and offer 1-1 support aligned with their needs, building a strong working relationship whereby the young person is empowered to overcome the barriers they currently face. You will also build strong working relationships with the network of people around the young person (e.g. parent/carer, school, statutory professionals) to ensure the best outcomes for the young person and that their needs are advocated for. Flexibility is central to our mentoring approach and mentoring sessions may vary in their format depending on the young person’s circumstances and goals. We give young people choice in how they are supported.

• Annual leave entitlement of 22 days per year pro rata, rising in increments to a max. of 28 days after 5 years employment (plus 8 days Bank Holidays)

The Role:

The Emotional Health and Wellbeing Team - Practitioner

You will offer both 1:1 wellbeing sessions and therapeutic group work covering emotional literacy and emotional regulation.

Successful candidates must:

• Be experienced in delivering direct emotional support to children and young people on a one-to-one basis and in a group setting.
• have a caring and approachable manner that supports children and young people to establish safe and trusting relationships.
• have an awareness of emotional challenges and how these impact the lives of children and young people.

• have a knowledge of child and adolescent development and the role of the family in supporting children and young people's emotional well-being.

• understand the specific trends and issues that are currently impacting the emotional wellbeing and mental health of children and young people.
• have comprehensive understanding of children's safeguarding.
• need to be adaptable and deliver support via multiple methods; face to face, telephone or video call. 
• Have case management experience and a clear understanding of the requirement for professional and accurate case notes.
• It would be beneficial to have access to a car due to the regular travel required in this role.

We are seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated Area Support Coordinator to lead, manage and support teams of volunteers, develop, and maintain relationships with local services, and ensure that people living with and affected by MND receive an exceptional service, improved support, and are at the heart of our care initiatives.

A fundamental part of the role is ensuring individuals affected by MND receive tailored support. Your responsibilities will include leading and coordinating volunteer activities, developing branch and group capacity, and establishing new groups as needed.

A key focus will be understanding local needs and collaboratively planning, designing, and delivering support activities. You will build and maintain excellent relationships with our wonderful volunteers, care centres/networks, care coordinators and multi-disciplinary health and social care professionals, hospices, other partners.

• Identify and address support issues by working with volunteers and individuals affected by MND.

• Proactively manage the recruitment, selection, and induction of volunteers.

About the Service

The Crisis Centre and rest of Nightlight Services (Café’s, Helpline, Daylight provision) is proud to provide urgent support, crisis intervention and emotional support to people experiencing a mental health crisis in Hertfordshire as an alternative to statutory pathways. We provide support to adults across Hertfordshire 7 days a week, 365 days a year through our helpline, crisis cafes and 24/7 Crisis Centre. We aim to provide a safe space for people in crisis to talk and feel supported, be listened to without judgement, access relevant support with problem solving and facilitate access to external services when necessary.

As a member of our diverse team, you will work closely with service users in crisis by using a person-centred approach to ensure that each individual is supported with dignity and respect. By honouring the individual experience of each service user, we are able to respect their autonomy as well as encourage and facilitate positive steps towards management of crisis and recovery.

About the Role

This role is managing a shift, delivering emotional support within a 24/7 four bed crisis house.

Alongside other Crisis Centre Coordinators, to be a key member of the Crisis Centre team, providing effective operational leadership delivering the Nightlight Mental Health Crisis Centre Service. You will be ensuring the delivery and development of quality crisis support services and instilling Hertfordshire Mind Network’s values throughout the provision. You will provide management support to Crisis Centre Mental Health Support Workers and support the Crisis Centre Team Leader in ensuring practice within the service is safe, effective and person centred.

Key Responsibilities

• Providing emotional support and developing, alongside service users, flexible and realistic crisis support/person-centred plans within agreed guidelines with support from the leadership team (including assessments of need, risk, crisis support plans and review forms) in person or via telephone.
• Draw upon own lived experience as appropriate to inform the delivery of person centred support.
• Providing immediate advice and information to clients to support with crisis presentations.
• Liaise with Nightlight management and external services e.g. police, ambulance service, Crisis Resolution Home Treatment Team, Single Point of Access, Safeguarding Out of Hours Service, Mental Health Liaison Teams, Adult Community Mental Health Services etc. as needed in terms of accepting referrals and proactively recognising the indicators of deteriorating mental health and facilitating appropriate support.
• Complete appropriate signposting/onward referrals to both internal and external services in accordance with identified needs and risks.
• Ensuring record keeping is maintained to the required standards at all times and contributing to service monitoring requirements.
• Arranging transport for service users to facilitate access to services as needed.
• You will line manage a number of Crisis Centre Mental Health Support Workers and be part of the operational management for the Nightlight Crisis Centre.

Purpose of Role: 

Reporting to the Supporter Care Manager, you will deliver excellent customer care to supporters and potential supporters of Operation Smile UK. As an integral part of the Supporter Care team, you will successfully support the Individual Giving programme and wider fundraising activities, providing support to ever increasing income and supporter stewardship for the delivery of increasing levels of unrestricted income for Operation Smile UK.

Key Responsibilities:

• Be the first point of contact for existing supporters and new supporters who respond to our fundraising activities by phone, email, letter or in person, letter, or email delivering outstanding supporter care
• Liaise with supporters in timely communication via email, phone, and mail with excellent customer care
• Priority is to answer incoming phone calls and escalate any difficult situations/complaints to Supporter Care Manager
• Support processing incoming phone and postal donations
• Assist with banking and processing incoming/outgoing post
• Be responsible for thanking our supporters including by letter, email and phone, despatch of information and fundraising materials
• Enter and maintain accurate records on our Database
• Maintain and assist with all types of donation processing administration and Database record amendments/records being kept up to date this will include Gift Aid status and contact consent requests
• Assist with cancelling and amending all types of regular gifts and sending out appropriate letters
• Manage removal process and consent process
• Assist with sending out problem payment letters
• Assist with handling material requests and recording actions on Database
• Assist with any third-party agency supporter care requests
• Maintain sensitive information and records with appropriate confidentiality
• Play an active role in developing the supporter journey at Operation Smile UK, working with the Supporter Care Manager, Head of Supporter Care & Database, and colleagues across Fundraising & Communications.

Skills and Experience Required:

Essential:

• Excellent customer service for internal and external stakeholders
• Written and verbal communications skills
• Excellent phone manner
• Strong eye for detail, methodical and accurate (critical that the database and supporter details at 100% accurate)
• Degree or equivalent qualification (i.e. marketing qualification).
• Attitude of continuous improvement, and lifelong learning.
• At least two years’ experience in a junior supporter care or administrative role
• Experience of donation or financial administration and working in a direct marketing environment or supporter care environment desirable with good knowledge of Microsoft Office.
• Excellent proficiency with CRM systems (Ideally Raiser’s Edge) and the ability to learn new systems and processes.
• Experience of outward facing donor stewardship, and relationship building.
• Excellent organisational and time management skills.

We Are Survivors are looking for a Service Manager to come and join its Community Services Team to cover Maternity Leave.

The organisation has an ambitious strategy to ensure that #NoMaleSurvivorsIsLeftBehind and is looking for a special member of staff to help us achieve this, on a temporary basis to cover Maternity Leave.

You will help us to provide key services across Greater Manchester. The Community Team is made of therapists and Community Development Workers to support men and boys to access the services they need.

Role Purpose To manage specific services and teams, ensuring the provision of quality assured support services to male survivors and their loved ones. This role will be up to 12 months providing Maternity Cover to the existing Service Manager.

Main Duties and Responsibilities

ABOUT THE ROLE

We are looking for a Forensic Psychologist to support our service based in Croydon. Based at a 27-bed residential property which specialises in forensic mental health, complex needs and dual diagnosis. As a Forensic Psychologist, you will support individuals with specific needs, and offer a level of contact, support, and supervision to support our residents to reintegrate within society. You will be providing psychological assessments and support residents who have multiple and complex needs that need support from our staff teams to meet their personal goals. 

Penrose Croydon: A 27-bed residential property specialising in forensic mental health, complex needs and dual diagnosis. We offer psychologically-informed housing and resettlement support that comes with additional help for individuals’ specific needs. Our forensic mental health step-down services consist of four individual sites which cater for high and medium support for both, men and women.

Shift Pattern: 22.5 hours per week, shift pattern to be agreed. 

This role is the equivalent of NHS band 8B

WHAT'S SOME OF THE RESPONSIBILITIES YOU WILL HOLD?

• Provide advice and guidance to the wider team on criminology, psychology, and behavioural patterns, and how they link to resident/participant behaviours and engagement.

KEY CRITERIA

What we are looking for:

• Post-graduate doctoral level training in Applied Psychology (or equivalent) as accredited by the BPD (or equivalent awarding body)

• Previous experience working as a qualified forensic psychologist, including working with people with complex backgrounds/needs and a good understanding of the sector
• Ability to use, learn and adapt to IT at an intermediate level, including Microsoft and other software programs
• Ability to teach, train, consult, and deliver clinical supervision
• Understanding of criminology, psychology, and behavioural patterns, and how they link to different behaviours and engagement
• Ability to understand and apply safeguarding protocols as they arise

Mental Health Homelessness Outreach Team Leader

Working base: Flexible to one of our seven Wellbeing Centres across Hertfordshire, dependent on location.

About the Service

This is a pilot service working as a multi-disciplinary team with housing teams and Drug and Alcohol Services across District and Borough councils. These teams will be working with individuals who are presenting as homeless and have a number of Complex Needs. The Complex Needs Housing Team Leader plays a significant role in the co-ordination and running of the Complex Needs Housing Service.

The objectives of Hertfordshire Mind Complex Needs Housing Service are:

• To improve the mental wellbeing of people experiencing mental ill health.
• To increase early access to help for people experiencing mental ill health in, by providing a clear and effective pathway to services provided by Herts Mind Network and other third sector and statutory providers.
• To contribute to an improvement in individual mental wellbeing.
• To remain a source of independent support for all clients.
• To reduce the use of police, ASB, tenancy enforcement, housing needs and environmental health services by clients whose primary need is related to mental ill health.
• To reduce the use of crisis services by people experiencing mental ill health with positive outcomes for the individual.
• To provide an assertive outreach approach for clients who are in crisis and/ or those that may have complex or multiple needs.
• To work collaboratively within an MDT consisting of CGL, District and Borough councils, housing teams and other professionals.

This role is key to the development and support of the team and the wider organisation. 
The post holder will need to:

• Support the Services Manager with effective running of the Complex Needs Housing Service.
• Provide advice, information, onward referral and holistic support to clients who are experiencing mental ill health or need support with their mental wellbeing. These will be clients who are presenting to District and Borough councils as homeless and need intervention and support with their mental health.
• Line manage staff and where necessary volunteers.
• Lead a team of Mental Health Outreach Workers. Ensuring the team are using databases and outcome tools as required to report for the project.

Key Responsibilities

• To receive and process referrals from the local district and borough Councils for those who have presented as homeless with a mental health need, as well as other appropriate referrals pathways across Hertfordshire and make direct contact within 72 hours of referral.
• To establish effective pathways across a variety of agencies to maximise and provide effective partnership working.
• To manage a caseload of up to 5 clients.
• Embed a holistic, trauma informed and person-centred service
• Proactively recognise the indicators of deteriorating mental health and facilitate appropriate action, whilst liaising with relevant agencies.
• Ensure a direct community service is in place which encourages, motivates and builds patients self-esteem and confidence. This will include goal setting and support with social and practical skills development.
• Ensure all person-centred risk assessments and support plans are completed as appropriate.
• To assist clients to access appropriate mental health services, drug and alcohol services, housing/tenancy services and other services according to assessed needs.
• To work with partners both internal and external to ensure that vulnerable person’s cases are monitored and risks evaluated in order to promote community safety.
• Support clients to build their emotional resilience and crisis planning tools, promoting self-management through building an understanding of their own triggers/coping strategies.
• To work with HMN staff in other services in order to make onward referrals to other projects.
• Liaise with appropriate HPFT staff to ensure that individuals are assessed for personal budgets to support with any longer-term needs.
• Support individuals to develop sustainable local social networks, both through our HMN Wellbeing Centres and other community services and resources.

The successful candidate will play a significant role in the co-ordination and running of the Complex Needs Housing Service.

BACKGROUND

We are seeking an experienced and enthusiastic Community Outreach Coordinator to join our growing, dynamic team. This role will support the development of a community hub attached to our charity retail “ReStore” in Romford—the first of its kind in the UK. Globally, over 1,000 ReStores operate with the mission of upcycling unwanted home materials to support low-income households and promote a circular economy.

Beyond being a retail space, our ReStore aims to become a community hub offering additional targeted activities and services to those most vulnerable to housing insecurity. Our pilot programme will focus on supporting women recovering from domestic abuse or trafficking. These women will access free essential goods from the store, and benefit from workshops and courses such as upholstery, upcycling, art therapy, employability, confidence-building, and practical life skills.

Main Responsibilities 

We are looking for a self-motivated and enthusiastic individual to design and maintain all community outreach activities. The Community Outreach Coordinator will represent Habitat GB, working with the leadership team to develop and implement initiatives that increase the community hub’s visibility and impact.

An important part of our work at Respond is working in a trauma-informed way. What this means for us is that we hold in mind the impact of trauma at all levels of the organisation, and all staff take part in reflective practice.     

We provide a range of trauma-informed services for children, young people, adults and professionals. These include psychotherapy, advocacy, campaigning, training and other support services. The work we do is generally long term in recognition of research that clients with autism and learning disabilities who have experienced abuse and trauma take longer to process their trauma and to recover. 

We are keen to encourage applications from a diverse range of candidates including people with lived experience, who are both interested in working in partnership to provide support, as well as supporting people with learning disabilities and autistic people who have experienced trauma.

We offer a generous and comprehensive package of flexible benefits to all of our staff.

• Hybrid working model, which means that if you’re full time you make a commitment to be working in the office at least two days a week, with the remainder working from home.  Part time hours are altered accordingly.   

• Generous paid leave benefits including 28.5 days holiday (plus Bank Holidays), with some to be taken between Christmas and New year.

• Up to 4 weeks paid sickness leave at full pay and a further 4 weeks at half pay,

• Discretionary study leave to support training relevant to your role.
