About the role
Our vision is to embed robust governance, risk management, and compliance frameworks across the organisation, ensuring British Heart Foundation (BHF) is secure and resilient in the future. As our Head of Governance, Risk, and Compliance (InfoSec), you’ll play a pivotal role in making this vision a reality.
You’ll be responsible for providing strategic guidance, oversight, and management of the GRC functions within BHF, being able to clearly communicate with and influence key stakeholders across the business. Reporting directly to the Head of Information Security, you’ll lead initiatives to build a strong security culture, ensure compliance with relevant laws and standards, and manage information security risks.
Working arrangements
This is a blended role, where your work will be dual located between your home and our London office.
At BHF, we believe in the power of being together, so our colleagues on blended contracts can expect to spend some time in their office, at least one day each week, on average. About you
We are open to applicants with a wide range of backgrounds and experience, who can demonstrate excellent stakeholder management skills alongside solid analysis skills.
You'll have excellent influencing and communication skills (both written and verbal), able to work with stakeholders holders across the business, and at all levels. You’ll also have previous experience of leading change and challenging assumptions. Being able to build, plan and deliver against is essential in this role.
You’d benefit from experience information security, particularly focused on governance, risk, and compliance. You’ll also have a solid understanding of the NIST CSF 2.0, PCI DSS, and Cyber Essentials Plus. Leading the development and implementation of information security governance frameworks.
In this role you will be responsible for:
• Conducting risk assessments, identifying, assessing, and mitigating information security risks
• Ensuring compliance with relevant laws, regulations, and standards
• Promoting a strong security culture within the organization through training programs and awareness campaigns
• Managing and mentoring a team, fostering a positive and collaborative work environment
• Developing and maintaining metrics to measure the effectiveness of InfoSec activities

Who we are looking for
We’re looking for a strategic and creative Content & Communications Manager to lead the development and delivery of our multi-channel content. Key Responsibilities
Oversight of Spear Programme
- Lead group sessions of around 10 young people each, using coaching skills to transform attitudes to their own ability and the workplace, and to raise their awareness and maximise potential in stepping into the world of work.
- Prepare and coach group and 1-1 sessions with the Spear Coach.
- Ensure the programme is delivered in line with agreed targets, and report KPIs on recruitment, retention and completion of Spear Trainees to Resurgo and the Spear Trust, as well as their ongoing progress and sustainment of work or education.
Partnership liaison and relationship management
- Establish the primary local referral agencies and build and implement a strategy for developing relationships with them to ensure recruitment of young people onto the Spear programme is effective.
- Maintain and develop relationships with local partners to form a strong referral network.
Line Management and training
- Manage the Spear Coach, using a coaching approach to invest in their growth and development.
- Be line managed by Resurgo to support with the set-up and ongoing operations of the centre and report back on KPIs.
Church Community
- The Spear Centre Manager is directly employed by The Mount, meaning you are part of a vibrant church staff team and submerged in an exciting faith community.
- You will be required to establish strong relationships with key people at the church to ensure the engagement and backing of church members, and help to establish a strong presence at the church to build a network of supporters for the Spear programme.
- Ensure the Spear programme is a key missional feature of the work of the church; this may involve attending church events and speaking at services.
Site management and set-up
- Work with the Church to set up the training room and IT infrastructure for the new Spear Centre in advance of opening.
- Liaise with relevant staff locally on-site issues and work to resolve them as soon as possible, ensuring the office and training room are safe and tidy working spaces in line with health and safety policies..

About the role
The Director of Business Development and Partnerships (DBDP) leads work at the interface between EngineeringUK and the engineering and technology sector that we represent and serve. As a member of the Executive Team, the DBDP brings critical insight of the corporate world and ensures that our engagement activities are relevant to them, represent their breadth and that our research, analysis and policy work draws on current and real-world experience. The Director leads a team that maintains established relationships with businesses, PEIs and funders and builds new relationships, encouraging organisations to support our work through funding, the provision of content and holistic partnership opportunities.
The Business & Industry team consists of 11 colleagues working under 4 pillars:
- New partnerships
- Corporate relationships
- Trusts and foundations
- Professional institutions and partnerships.
The Director has 4 line-reports: 3 Heads and one Manager. Each team has a slightly different role in meeting the B&I team strategy, but all work collectively to ensure that key industry bodies and businesses are engaged with our work.
New partnerships. Engage new businesses with our portfolio of activities including corporate membership, EUK Education programmes, The Tomorrow’s Engineers Code, policy, and other opportunities.
Corporate relationships. Responsible for account managing existing relationships with members, sponsors and funders including supporting STEM strategy development, organising peer-learning opportunities, upgrading membership/funding levels, networking them across EngineeringUK, and deepening engagement across multiple activities.
Trusts and foundations. Managing existing high-value partnerships with funders who support our programmes, engaging new funders to scale our work, working with other teams to develop compelling proposals and raise EngineeringUK’s profile in the grant-making space.
Professional institutions and partnerships. Coordinate engagement with PEIs across EngineeringUK, ensuring a consistent approach and maximising joint value from our partnership. Securing new partnerships (and then managing, renewing and cross-selling the relationship) with SME clusters.
Reporting to the Chief Executive, and as part of the Executive Team, the DBDP is expected to understand the governance requirements of charities and companies and work with the Board of EngineeringUK to support decision making.
The role is London based at our office at 10 Lower Thames Street, London EC3R 6EN and may involve some travel in the UK . We believe that hybrid working has many benefits and are pleased to offer flexible working with a minimum of 2 days (or 40%) a week in the office and the option for a flexible start and end to the working day in our vibrant central London office overlooking the Thames. The Institute
The Institute for Employment Studies (IES) is an independent, apolitical, centre of research and consultancy in employment policy and human resource issues. We work closely with employers in the manufacturing, service and public sectors, government departments, agencies, and professional and employee bodies. The role
The Office Manager is a key role assisting the Director of Finance and Resources, in the delivery of a high quality and continuously improving service.
The post is part-time (21 hours per week) with a minimum expectation of working in the office between Tuesday and Thursday.
Office and IT responsibilities
■ To create and maintain a professional and efficient office environment.
■ Support IES staff as needed with IT issues – prioritise and escalate issues with Third Party IT Provider, maintain snagging list to recognise common/repeating issues, and provide staff training as needed.
■ To source, manage and maintain all IES equipment and be the main point of contact for staff equipment queries.
■ To take responsibility for all day-to-day issues within the office and facilities management including facilitating meetings and assisting remote workers, liaising with the managing agents, contractors and other visitors.
■ Take responsibility for IES health and safety compliance, DSE assessments, office induction and equipment set up.

We are seeking a passionate and enthusiastic Operations Manager to join our friendly and supportive team.
Main purpose of post
You will manage Survive’s daily operations to keep the organisation compliant and functioning efficiently and to lead on specific projects to further the organisation’s mission and strategic aims.

Outline of main duties

Operations:

As Data Programme Manager, you’ll use your project and programme management skills to successfully deliver projects which improve Hospice UK’s data capabilities. You don’t need to have technical data skills, but you’ll need to be able to guide technical colleagues and third-party IT and data providers.
Your main project will produce a new Member Data Portal, enabling over 200 member hospices to submit data and view insights and analysis that informs their service offer, whilst also providing a national view of hospice care that Hospice UK will use to support member hospices with national campaigning and fundraising.
Alongside this, you will lead data projects that improve our internal performance management. This will involve working with colleagues to gather requirements and develop reporting that supports effective decision making, developing new policies and procedures, and providing training.
Excellent stakeholder management skills will be key to your success. Working with representatives from our member hospices will be vital to the success of the Member Data Portal project. Internally, you’ll collaborate with colleagues at all levels, including the ICT and Data team who will provide technical expertise, and senior managers who will be customers for many of the projects. You’ll also work with external suppliers of technical products and services, including carrying out procurements where needed.
You’ll have great project management skills, which means you’ll be organised, structured and a pragmatic problem solver. Ideally, you’ll have experience of delivering technology, digital or data projects.

- Manage coordination between Skilled Volunteering Projects and the Social Impact Solutions Corporate Skilled Volunteering programme
Relationship Development and Management
- Maintain and further develop existing relationships across London’s boroughs with partners, charitable organisations, funders, CVSs and others
- Initiate and develop new relationships with relevant organisations that are well positioned to complement and/or support Skilled Volunteering activity
- Attend events in-person and online to further build relationships
- Ensure regular communication through various avenues including mailings, phone calls and in-person meetings
- Lead workshops and trainings about skilled volunteering as required
Programme Development
- Facilitate focus groups with volunteers and organisations
- Develop and oversee a new SGO Advisory Group
- Actively engage with CEO on developing new approaches to using Skilled Volunteering to make a deeper impact within London communities
Communications, Thought Leadership and Events
- Work with the Comms team to ensure promotion is effective and targeted
- Innovate ways to get the word out to both volunteers and organisations
- Help build our voice as a thought leader in the field of Skilled Volunteering in the UK
- Write blogs and other pieces to share different aspects of Skilled Volunteering
- Coordinate, as needed, with the Events Manager to carry out Skilled Volunteering related events
Systems and Operations
- Actively oversee our CRM and ensure established processes are working efficiently
- Contribute ideas to improve effectiveness of the Skilled Volunteering process
- Continue to review and improve our data collection and analysis system
- Ensure other technology is being used and integrated as needed to support our work
- Identify and lead on implementation of new tech that can support Link UP’s growth and efficiency
Other
- Represent Link UP and our expertise in Skilled Volunteering within the communities that we work and beyond at events and forums and other gatherings (on and offline)
- Contribute to proposal development and funding requests as needed
- Actively engage in the development and growth of Link UP as an organisation
Person Specification
Essential Skills
- 5+ years’ experience with programme management and delivery aimed at creating positive results
- Experience managing people and small teams
- Comprehensive experience with monitoring & evaluation and impact measurements and an interest in developing these further
- A love of working with people, building relationships and experience with relationship management
- A great spoken and written communicator
- Experience with, and enjoyment of, presenting to groups
- Comprehensive experience with CRM management (e.g. working with Active Campaign, Salesforce or similar platforms)
- Technically savvy with the ability to learn new technology easily
- Detail oriented and highly organised
- Ability to work under pressure and deliver at a high quality
- Ability to pitch in as needed to ensure everything is done to the best of our abilities, as required as part of a small team
- Ability to work well remotely and independently as well as in-person with a team
It is also important to have:
- Experience with and an understanding of organisational development / capacity building in the charity sector
- An understanding of volunteering and Skilled Volunteering in particular

You will be responsible for developing and implementing financial management and reporting strategies as well as ensuring strong financial control processes across the team. You will also oversee the IT team, ensuring the development of strong IT policies.
Day to day responsibilities include:
- Support the Senior Management Team to shape long-term organisational strategy
- Lead on organisational strategies and plans encompassing finance, operations, IT and risk management
- Offer expert financial advice and analysis to aid management teams in strategic decision making
- Support the CEO in risk management
- Provide overall leadership to the finance function, ensuring strong finance systems are in place
- Lead the relationship with Crisis Action's auditors

Essential:

The Training Administrator plays a vital role in supporting the smooth operation of our training services. You’ll work closely with the Training Manager and the wider team undertaking a variety of administrative activities associated with training, with an emphasis on administration for private courses and our learning management system. The role will include supporting live courses, providing administrative support for our training bookings, managing our mailbox, and developing our E Learning content and systems.
This role will suit someone with proven administration experience, excellent IT and data management skills, an eye-for-detail and excellent proof-reading skills. The ability to prioritise workloads and work independently and proactively using your initiative is essential. You will also have a good knowledge and understanding of a PDA Profile of Autism. It's a very busy but interesting and creative role!
The role is part time, working 21.5 hours per week at £13.91 an hour. Actual salary per annum £15,551 (FTE £25,316)
