Sensory Services by Sight for Surrey has been established for over 100 years. We enable and empower people who are Deaf, hard of hearing, blind, partially sighted, and deafblind to overcome barriers to be as independent as possible and thrive in their communities. We are a countywide charity based in Fetcham, near Leatherhead.

We are seeking a hard-working, driven and flexible individual to develop, lead and grow our volunteer and community engagement team and lead and collaborate with our marketing and communication team to raise awareness and increase engagement to grow our vital work.

Main duties include:

¨ Be an effective manager, line managing our Volunteer, Community Outreach and Marketing and Communications teams.

¨ Working with various partner organisations, building relations while exploring possible funding/joint working/event opportunities, and supporting our Outreach Team to make sure they are best placed to have the biggest impact for the people we enable and empower.

¨ In collaboration with the Marketing and Communications team, oversee the production of high quality communications to raise awareness, increase engagement and grow support for our vital work.

¨ Organise and facilitate our Breaking Down Barriers Workshops three times a year.

¨ Lead on key projects around Communications, Volunteering and Engagement, including:

-  Co-produce a strategic volunteering plan for the team aligned to our strategy

-  Review and develop the charity policies for volunteering and ensure volunteers are up to date with our relevant policies, legislative requirements  and our needs and requirements

-  Co-produce a strategic communications plan for the team, aligned to our  strategy

  - Review all current communications and revise annual marketing plans to strengthen our presence in the community

¨ Working with colleagues in other teams and departments, develop a strategic Community Engagement plan aligned to our strategy

¨ Ability to work flexibly according to the business need which may include evening and weekends

Skills and Qualifications:

• Direct experience of line managing a team of staff
• Relevant experience in the management of a volunteering programme, or extensive experience of directly managing volunteers with the ability to step up into this role
• Knowledge and understanding of volunteering best practice, strategy and policy

The people we support are often vulnerable so it is essential that all volunteers have an appropriate Disclosure and Barring clearance, and that our records of all other relevant paperwork such as driving licence details and insurance is kept up to date and properly recorded.

Job Title: Research and Engagement Officer

Job Purpose:

To plan and deliver engagement and research for Healthwatch Wakefield’s core and project work. To understand the experiences and concerns of people using health and social care services in Wakefield and represent this feedback to service providers and commissioners. The role involves some analysing of data and intelligence to influence change and improve services. 

Main Duties and Responsibilities:

Engagement:

• Work closely with the team to put together engagement plans for specific projects and core healthwatch work
• Conduct engagement in public spaces appropriate to project needs, such as community centres, health venues, and libraries.

About us:

Purpose of the role:

RMC attracts funding from a wide range of areas including trusts and foundations, Local Authorities and individuals. The Trusts and Statutory Fundraising Manager will work closely with fundraising and operational colleagues to diversify and grow income from Trusts, Foundations, Statutory bodies, and other institutional funders to enable the organisation to fulfill its strategic priorities. You will tailor applications to donors and nurture relationships in a way designed to inspire funding partners to act and support our services.

Relationships:

Reporting to the Deputy CEO, the post holder will work closely with other senior managers

and colleagues at RMC.

Key responsibilities:

· To play an integral role alongside other senior colleagues to pursue an ambitious Income Generation Plan. 

· To secure significant income through charitable Trusts and grant making organisations including statutory bodies to provide income to support organisational priorities.

· To research and identify appropriate funders whose criteria match RMCs’ work and develop plans, prepare cases for support, and submit compelling bids and complex grant applications as appropriate.

· To develop and maintain a strong pipeline of £50k+ prospects, working with fundraising and operational colleagues to develop high-value, strategic and multi-year opportunities.

· Work across teams and build effective relationships with team members to identify suitable projects for funding in line with strategy and budgets.

· Ensure we meet the funders reporting requirements, and that grant payments and income are monitored and reported against.

· Contribute to the overall Fundraising Strategy

· Where required, support the preparation of funding applications by members of the team to other donors, including corporate donors, major donors, and other charity partners (NGOs).

· Experience of administration and record-keeping using a CRM – we currently use Donorfy

AKF(UK) Partnerships Managers are part of the Global Aga Khan Foundation (AKF) Partnerships team tasked with identifying and cultivating new funding partnerships and strengthening existing ones to support our strategic goals. They engage with European and Asian government, foundation, and corporate donors to mobilise resources for ten multisector profit and not-for-profit agencies of the Aga Khan Development Network (AKDN) operating across Asia and Africa. In addition, Partnership Managers are responsible for a portfolio of select grants implementing across AKDN themes and geographies in close collaboration with field units, global teams, and our partners.

4. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES AND CORE TECHNICAL COMPETENCIES

4.1 Securing resources

• Coordinate, facilitate, and lead the development, review, and quality assurance of expressions of interest, concept notes and full proposals for funding opportunities;
• Liaise and coordinate with internal stakeholders as well as with donors, partners, and consortia to facilitate project design, align proposal and donor requirements, gather required legal and administrative documentation, and draft sections of proposals as needed;
• Coordinate processes of contracting and negotiation, engaging relevant stakeholders, and ensuring contracts ‘get over the line’ in a timely and efficient way;
• When needed, provide direct hands-on support at field level in design of concept notes, proposals, and budgets and conduct donor or field visits to support discussions with new and existing donors/partners;
• Contribute to management systems, such as the Award Information Management System (AIMS).

4.2 Grant management

• Manage and monitor a portfolio of grants through regular interface and coordination with AKF(UK)’s partnerships team, AKF(UK)’s finance team and relevant AKF/AKDN agencies/field units, acting as a central resource for field units in donor best practice;
• Interface with donors and communicate on a regular basis about the implementation of on-going grants to ensure strong, enduring relationships;
• Ensure strong relationship cultivation throughout the grants cycle, anticipate, and plan for future funding and project extensions;
• Oversight, coordination, review, and quality assurance of donor deliverables (e.g. work plans, monitoring and evaluation plans, staffing plans, budgets, close-out plans, donor troubleshooting);
• Ensure adherence with donor requirements, rules, and regulations, and that grant deliverables are produced on time and to a high standard;
• Coordinate contractual amendments, changes, and project adaptations, engage with donors in a pro-active and diplomatic way, and flag potential changes (e.g. budget revisions, extensions, risks) in advance to ‘trouble shoot’ and ensure smooth project implementation;
• Facilitate grant monitoring efforts including routine coordination meetings, donor steering committees, donor project visits, and donor monitoring missions;
• Undertake coordination and administrative tasks related to grants and support the maintenance and update of grant management tools and tracking systems such as AIMS.

4.3 Donor engagement and positioning

• Support the partnership unit in researching, sourcing relevant information, and performing analysis of market trends on new donors, peer organisations, and funding opportunities to identify potential funding and partnering matches for AKF and AKDN priorities;
• Work with country teams, AKDN agencies, and the Global Programmes Team (GPT) to identify, build, and support strategic partnerships on aligned global and regional initiatives, innovations and themes with likeminded donors and partners;
• Develop positioning materials (e.g. presentations, capability statements, briefs, talking points), collaborating with communications teams, to enable effective donor engagement;
• Engage with new and existing donors and partners to identify solicited and unsolicited funding opportunities;
• Guide teams to make informed, effective decisions on which opportunities to pursue (including ‘Go No-Go’ requests);
• Identify, cultivate, and pre-position with partner organisations to form or join consortia focused funding bids;
• Conduct due diligence on new partners in coordination with finance and partnerships teams.

4.4 Influencing development and communicating practical lessons and results

• Support the influencing of the development sector by convening and participating at events (e.g. conferences, roundtables, policy forums) to share lessons, innovations and knowledge about our programmes that position us as ‘thought leaders’;
• Engage communications teams to identify opportunities and support the development of content (e.g. social media campaigns, videos) that promote AKF and AKDN’s work and position us as ‘partners of choice’ in the sector. Carry out any other duties as assigned by the Deputy Regional Director of Partnerships or Regional Director of Partnerships.

Barnardo's are recruiting several practitioners to be involved in the delivery of an innovative project to introduce a new parenting intervention to address youth violence into the UK.

We are looking for enthusiastic practitioners with experience of working with young people and their families preferably within the context of serious youth violence. They should be passionate about improving outcomes for young people who are at risk of serious youth violence, through positive support of their parents. Your focus will be on working in a team to deliver the GEN PMTO programme (following full training). It is essential the integrity of the programme material is maintained so it will be crucial to attend all training and to abide by the course material outlines. Gathering feedback, outcomes and impact will be a central part of the role as this information will be pivotal in determining the impact of the programme. We need a strong, cohesive team who are positive and open to trailing innovative ways of working with parents that will improve the outcomes for young people.

Salary: The salary band will be £28,283, to £32,323 (dependent on experience)

Responsibilities 

• Design Research: Conduct research on local cultural contexts, using resources like the Sightsavers image and design libraries, and validate findings with local teams.
• Desk Reviews: Review existing interventions and resources, gathering performance data and liaising with programme teams and colleagues.

This role will offer the opportunity to work as a personal trainer across the Active Wellbeing Programme. 

The Active Wellbeing Programme:  

The Active Wellbeing programme is a specialist mental health exercise referral programme. This programme is designed to engage and promote health and wellbeing to people diagnosed with a severe mental illness (SMI). The role will be working across the Kingston borough on our Active Wellbeing Kingston BME pilot service the option to work across our Richmond Active Wellbeing programme.

Job Purpose and Dimensions 

• The post-holder will be responsible for delivering a 10 week, 1:1 personal training programme to clients with severe mental health illnesses (SMI) which can include: Bipolar, Schizophrenia, Severe Clinical Depression.
• The post-holder will be responsible for attending initial and final assessment meetings either side of the 10 week programme for each client assigned to them as part of the Active Wellbeing programme.
• Ensures that the service is provided to the standards required by the organisation, Government Legislation and governing body rulings.
• Deliver a one hour exercise session each week over a duration of 10 sessions per assigned programme client.
• Actively involved in programme assessments either side of the 10 session programme.
• Deliver an individualised physical activity programme to each client assigned.

Main Duties/Responsibilities:  

• Design and deliver a weekly physical activity session for each client considering safety and progression with each of the 10 sessions.
• Engage in all client assessments prior to and beyond their 10-week programme
• Active engagement and design of goals and individualised exercise plans for each client
• Monitor clients exercise intensity, type, and ability to ensure clients are exercising safely.
• Monitoring clients mental wellbeing during sessions to ensure safety and communicating any concerns to the line manager.
• Responsible for arranging weekly sessions with clients.
• High level of communication between instructor and client to confirm session times and locations.
• High level of communication between instructor and line manager to report any concerns with a clients mental and physical wellbeing during sessions.
• Provide motivation and encouragement for clients to engage in sessions and stay engaged in their programme.
• Responsible for the setup of equipment for outdoor or online sessions.
• Responsible with checking in and out of sessions with the admin team to ensure safety of both instructor and client.
• Responsible for checking the safety of equipment. If equipment is faulty and needs to be replaced, responsible for communicating this with the Active Wellbeing programme coordinator.
• Responsible for administering first aid in the event of an accident and ensuring that safety requirements are met in all areas.

Skills and Experience:  

• Level 3 qualified personal training certification (essential)
• At least 2 years’ experience in a role that involves delivering face-to-face personal training physical activity support
• Experiencing working in a mental health setting and/or long term health conditions (essential)
• Experience working with vulnerable groups (desirable)
• Mental health first aid, suicide prevention or mental health awareness qualification (desirable) or willingness to undertake training (essential)
• Understanding of the principles of confidentiality and how these apply when handling service-user information.
• Understanding of the challenge’s vulnerable adults diagnosed with an SMI face in relation to independent activity and accessing health programmes
• Good ability to use Microsoft Office and Outlook email

This pivotal role, based in Warrington with travel across Liverpool, St Helens, and Warrington, is responsible for ensuring the efficient and customer-focused delivery of Repairs & Maintenance (R&M) services.
 
As a leader within their Asset Leadership team (ATL), you will oversee an annual programme of C£35m, including responsive repairs, damp & mould, disrepair, voids management, and estate management services. Your expertise in managing large-scale contracts, responsive repairs, damp & mould, disrepair and vacant property management, coupled with your knowledge of CDM legislation and contract law, will be critical to driving performance and enhancing customer experience.

Responsibilities:

- Ensure all maintenance works are delivered in an efficient manner, ensuring all health and safety legislation is met at all times.
- Be monitored on agreed performance targets around maintenance performance, productivity, quality, and expenditure against agreed budgets, and provide regular reports focusing on performance, progress, and risk.

Skills & Experience:

- Degree level education in construction or property related discipline or equivalent relevant training/ experience
- Relevant management & leadership experience commensurate with the role
- Membership in RICS, CIOB, or an equivalent professional body is advantageous
- Able to demonstrate a significant knowledge of leading and management maintenance services with a specific focus on the Client/Contractor split gained through extensive and relevant experience 
- Extensive experience of developing and implementing property performance techniques.
- Extensive experience of leading and managing technical roles in a maintenance in a housing or property management led organisation.
- A successful track record of achievement at managerial level in shaping and implementing change through good project management and the use of measured performance data
- Evidence of transforming business processes to improve the customer experience, process and business performance based on intelligence led data and strong project management skills
- Evidence of co-ordinating and demonstrating the importance of value for money in everyday operations
