We are looking for a well-organised, highly motivated and passionate individual to join our team as a full-time Youth Worker (Youth Voice), supporting our mission to enable young people who are homeless, facing homelessness or unsafe to achieve independence and positive futures.
The successful candidate will work within the Youth Work Team to deliver our frontline drop-in service and support our weekly and monthly activities to all young people experiencing homelessness.
You’ll specialise in ensuring a diverse range of young people’s voices are heard, facilitating inclusive activities which increase youth participation across all our services and leading on the delivery of our youth forums. We have an ambitious plan to improve and accelerate our youth voice strategy and this role will be at the heart of this delivery.
You should be experienced in designing, planning and facilitating a range of activities and group work with and for young people and be able to work dynamically in a fast-paced day centre environment. We are looking for candidates who are passionate about youth engagement and skilled in bringing out the ideas, voices and opinions of young people to shape service delivery. We are particularly keen to hear from candidates with a background in running participatory youth projects, co-production, youth engagement sessions and/or community engagement.
The ideal candidate is a team player who enjoys working collaboratively across our organisation. This role also includes working closely with our Campaigns, Impact and Policy team to ensure young people’s voices are at the heart of our external campaigning work.
Finally, you will also be committed to the safeguarding of young people and delivering an inclusive and trauma-informed service.

A lot of people know NCT for our antenatal classes, and we want to continue to support as many parents and families as we can to access evidence-based information. But we are also much more than this. We are a charity that campaigns on the issues that matter to parents. We run breastfeeding and infant feeding support, provided by specialist counsellors. We run thousands of free community activities and events across the UK, led by our fantastic volunteers and peers. And we support women and families facing specific challenges, such as social isolation, feeding difficulties or poor mental health.

Our Hackney Parent Support project is commissioned by Hackney Council, to offer infant feeding support across the region in both community and hospital settings and parenting courses for families throughout the Hackney region. The support is delivered by staff and volunteer peer supporters.

We are seeking a capable Service Engagement Lead to manage, coordinate and support both the Infant feeding and Parenting course projects.  This role is split between being out in the community and working from home, it will include regular travel across the Hackney region (expenses will be reimbursed).

About the Role

Working closely with the Hackney Parent Support team, you will be responsible for the service engagement and promotion of our community-based services across Hackney. Some of the key responsibilities of the role include:

· Line managing the paid peer supporters within the Hackney staff team.

· Coordinating and maintaining the active social media and Infant Feeding Services website.

· Advertising volunteering opportunities across varying platforms including social media

· Provide clear guidance and information to potential volunteers on the roles, responsibilities and training requirements. 

· Having a good working knowledge and understanding of the local demographics in the Hackney area and ensuring all support groups are accessible and inclusive.

· Ensure that data collection and feedback is collected in a timely manner in an inclusive way.

· Coordinate and deliver the Equipment Hire Service across the Borough.

You must have good communication skills and be able to build relationships and create a rapport with a wide range of people easily. This is a large project and covers multiple locations so you must be able to confidently prioritise your own work, be highly organised and able to work independently.

Being able to make decisions and respond appropriately to our staff, peer supporters and parents and other external stakeholders is essential, alongside good IT skills– including Outlook, Word and Excel – and you must have good attention to detail.
 
It is essential for this post that you undertake the training to become an NCT Breastfeeding Peer Supporter. This requires breastfeeding experience of at least 3 months. The training can be undertaken within your working hours. There will also be training on the EPEC (Empowering Parents, Empowering Communities course) provided by South London and Maudsley NHS Foundation Trust.

The role is 14 hours per week as is a job share, which will be predominantly Monday to Wednesday within the working day, however, will include occasional evening and weekends. This is a home-based role, however travel across Hackney will be required.

About the role

You will play a valuable role in delivering our Legacy Product Strategy by managing a caseload of pecuniary, residuary, and life interest trust legacies and building collaborative relationships with solicitors, law firms and other professionals involved in legacy giving or Wills substitutes. What will I be doing?

• Providing excellent legacy administration and engaging with legacy professionals to create a positive view of Cancer Research UK and the wider legacy charity sector.

• Supporting the Legacy Partnership Manager in implementing the engagement strategy (including events and other relationship-building activities).

• Attending engagement events and professional visits within your region where a Legacy Management perspective is beneficial. Such as:

  • Supporting the wider Legacy Management team and other Fundraising & Marketing teams with Family & Friends Legacy engagement activities, supporter queries, and events.

• Being the first point of contact for legacy queries from supporters and members of the public.

What are you looking for?

• Legacy Management or Legal background. Ideally is a qualified solicitor (or qualified by experience) in probate, trust, and charity law.

• Knowledge of probate and trust law.

• Accounting and Tax knowledge (particularly estate accounts, investment management, share valuations, management accounting, reporting; income tax, inheritance tax, and capital gains tax).

• Strong attention to detail/data accuracy (particularly when inputting into case management systems).

• Proven time management and organisational skills. This includes:

  • A track record of working under minimal supervision while managing or helping to manage a legacy administration or an equivalent function.

  • A flexible approach and comfortable in navigating ambiguity and challenging environments/ contexts (such as engaging with the family and friends of deceased donors).

• Excellent stakeholder engagement and management skills with the ability to gain buy-in and collaboration.

• Excellent communication and relationship-building skills with an ability to create connections that make great things happen.

We are recruiting for a new manager to lead our Legacy and In-Memory fundraising team within this department, to grow and deliver Battersea’s strategy, products and associated marketing plans. They will do this by managing the Legacy and In-Memory marketing programme to sustain and develop legacy prospects, managing the budget and operational plans for the programme, and continuing to develop the diversity of the programme through testing scalable and sustainable recruitment channels, product offerings and retention methods.
