QuarterFive are delighted to be partnering with The Orpheus Centre, which supports young disabled adults to live and work as independently as they are able. They do this through developing their confidence and independent living skills, using arts-based, bespoke learning, work experience and supported living programmes delivered from their base in Surrey. All of their learners are learning disabled and some are also physically disabled.

The Orpheus Centre is located at a beautiful converted farm that provides teaching and performance spaces and self-contained accommodation. However, their success in enabling these young people to thrive means that they are over subscribed every year and have outgrown the current facilities.

The capital appeal will convert a building next to the Centre to allow for more learners to enrol, in particular more learners with more complex needs. Currently, the quiet phase is projected for 2024-2027, with the build phase being projected for 2027-2029.

The Head of Capital Appeal will sit on the SMT, reporting to the CEO, and be responsible for leading a small team of fundraisers also dedicated to raising funds for the build. While there will be a team to support, the Head of Capital Appeal will spend most of their time personally fundraising as well. There are existing opportunities, including a well-connected President (also the Founder), a Capital Appeal Committee which will be set up, and an existing pool of donors. A focus on new business, however, will also be crucial for the success of the project.

As Head of Capital Appeal, you will: 

• Develop, implement and monitor the private and public phases of the capital appeal strategy to enable the Orpheus Centre to meet the appeal target
• Establish a high performing capital appeal committee of volunteers to cultivate and steward potential significant donors
• Deliver target income from a range of sources, primarily major donors, trusts and foundations and statutory sources, but not discounting other viable income streams
• Personally secure significant major gifts for the capital project
• Design, recruit and lead a team of fundraisers to support on fundraising for the capital project
• Research and identify potential funders for the capital project
• Work closely with the build project team, to ensure clear communication between the funding and the building of the project
• Provide timely reports for Senior Management Team and Trustees to facilitate effective cash flow management and decision making

Ideal skills and experience:

• Significant experience in a senior high value fundraising role
• Demonstrable experience of securing 5- and 6-figure major gifts
• Extensive track record in working with trusts, major donors and statutory funders
• Experience of line managing teams of fundraisers
• Ability to adapt to different audiences, including donors, senior volunteers, team members, learners and all colleagues in the wider organisation
• Experience in managing senior level volunteers and fundraising committees
• Understanding of disability language and issues
• Ability to demonstrate an appreciation of the arts

The Role

• Develop and apply data insights to directly inform the management, development, and delivery of NEA services.

A compelling communicator you will have the ability to translate complex data into easily digestible, accessible and actionable insights that can be easily understood by diverse stakeholders. The right candidate will have excellent interpersonal skills and will build relationships with a diverse range of stakeholders.

The Student Voice Coordinator (Networks) will lead on the launch of the Union’s Student Networks project, support Network leaders and volunteers to develop and grow their memberships, and to run meetings, events, and campaigns where relevant to improve equality of opportunity at the University.

The Information, Advice and Guidance worker is situated in the advocacy team to provide information on maintaining good mental health. The role will include triage provision in helping to assess needs e.g., reducing suicide risk and refer beneficiaries to appropriate and more importantly immediate support either at MhIST or externally. Typically, interventions will be short and usually, but not always, once off in nature.

Usually you will be working with people who have relatively low needs but you will be able to assist people with higher or complex needs to access services which are appropriate for them.

· Helping people to access the most appropriate service for their needs.

· Providing advice to help prevent the worsening of symptoms.

We're looking for an efficient, friendly Volunteer Co-ordinator to join our team. Much of our work is delivered by volunteers, so this post is critical to our service delivery. You will recruit, induct, and coordinate volunteers; including leading our Good Neighbours Scheme and Befriending Scheme and supporting the recruitment for all other projects. 

About you: You will have experience of volunteering and in coordinating volunteers or staff, and have strong organisational and communication skills. A little bit about the role

This role will sit within the Fellowship team, within the wider external relations directorate, and be managed by the Fellowship and engagement lead, supported by our chief social worker and a steering group of staff and trustees. The successful candidate will be an effective communicator and strategic relationship builder who prioritises youth voices and partnership. School Food Matters (SFM) exists to teach children about food and to improve children’s access to healthy, sustainable food during their time at school. We provide fully funded food education programmes to schools. Our experience delivering these programmes informs and strengthens our campaigns, bringing the voices of children, parents and teachers to government policy.

Young Marketeers

This much-loved programme was started in London in 2012. It is now running in 12 cities across England and is funded by the National Lottery Community Fund for three years.  The programme provides hands-on opportunities for children from primary schools to grow fruit and veg from seed to sell at their local market. Young Marketeers is also a platform for School Food Matters to promote food education to schools and communities as a way to support children to live happy and healthy lives.  Children learn the art of growing veg from seed, and market traders will share their secrets on how to create a winning market stall.  Primary schools will be visited by our gardener in March/April and then again in May/June and receive further tips on how to ensure a bumper crop. And in July, they head to the market to sell their produce, and to meet the mayor!

Key Tasks include:

· Recruit four schools to take part in Young Marketeers

· Build and maintain relationships with teachers, teaching assistants and senior leaders to ensure the smooth running of the project

· Build and support relationships with contacts in partner organisations

· Schedule, organise and deliver

o One assembly in each school

o Two food growing sessions in each school

o One market trader training session in each school

o Market Day in the city centre in July for four schools

· Maintain accurate records relating to the programme

• Complete monitoring and evaluation forms in accordance with instructions from our Evaluation team
• Take photos of workshops and events where possible
• Keep Development Manager fully updated on progress

· Keep up to date with safeguarding requirements and reporting procedures

• Maintain the ethos of the charity and positively promote our work at all times

Person specification

Essential  

· Experience of delivering food growing sessions to children

· Knowledge of fruit and vegetable growing

· Excellent administrative and organisational skills with great attention to detail

· Excellent IT skills including excel, word and email

· Experience of building relationships with partner organisations and individuals 

· Ability to work in a team, and seek help when needed

· Self-motivated and optimistic with a can-do attitude

Desirable

Role Overview:

As a key member of our team, you will:

· Support our approach to securing both statutory income (grants and contracts) and voluntary income (trusts,      corporates, major donors, individuals), in partnership with the Leadership Team.

· Working with the CEO to support organisational tendering and commercial income generation activities aligned with the strategy, coordinating solution design and written bids.

· Lead on grant identification- conduct research to identify potential grant and foundation funding opportunities

· Lead on grant applications – including the development of compelling grant proposals,  you will manage the  grant application process, including drafting, editing, and submitting grant proposals within deadlines, and ensuring compliance with funder requirements.

· Working alongside the Director of Finance, support the preparation of budgets for tenders and fundraising.

· Ensure all our income generation activity is compliant with fundraising governance and legislation, including GDPR, PECR, and the Code of Fundraising Practice, and ensure our systems and processes (including the database and reporting) are compliant and fit for purpose in Business Development.

We would love to hear from you if you have a track record, experience, understanding, knowledge of:

· Grant writing, fundraising, or development, preferably in the nonprofit sector

· Grant funding mechanisms, including government, foundations, and statutory funding programmes

· Writing compelling, well-organised content that turns complex ideas and detail into summaries that can effectively engage different audiences

· Organisational skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines under pressure when needed.

· Strategic thinking and problem-solving abilities, with a results-oriented approach to achieving funding targets

· Collaborative mindset and ability to work effectively with the service delivery team and other colleagues

Sutton Carers Centre works in partnership to help improve and maintain the quality of life for these Young and Adult Carers living, working, studying or caring in the London Borough of Sutton. 

We are looking to recruit to a key and rewarding role in our charity. The members of our team are highly skilled, passionate and committed, so we are looking for an experienced administrator who can support them. The successful candidate will be skilled in office administrative functions, to ensure the delivery of an efficient, friendly and smooth-running Centre as well as office co-ordination and support services. The post-holder will have experience of developing, maintaining and improving systems in an office environment. The post-holder will also oversee reception functions, including the support of the administration and reception volunteers. 

You also will have excellent IT, literacy and numeracy skills and be able to express yourself well in person and in writing. The successful candidate will be positive, empathic, creative and boundaried in their ability to work alongside Carers as well as our colleagues and partners, in helping Carers maintain their own health and wellbeing alongside their caring roles.
