Leading People’s Economy’s approach to training

• With support from the Programme Director, lead the development of People’s Economy’s approach to training and workshops to create an approach and set of standards to be applied across the organisation.
• Stay abreast of developments in training best practice across similar organisations and use this knowledge to further develop People’s Economy’s training approach.
• Develop resources (e.g. types of training exercises) that can be used across People’s Economy’s training work
• Support colleagues and freelancers to implement People’s Economy’s training approach, including through delivering ‘train the trainer’ training and creating learning resources
• Work with the Programme Director to create processes to oversee the quality and delivery of all of People’s Economy’s training
• Lead on monitoring and evaluation of, and learning from, People’s Economy’s training work ensuring that it informs the subsequent development of training
• With support from the Programme Director create and implement plans to build and maintain our training infrastructure and increase our training capacity.

Training for Changemakers

• With support from the Programme Director, design and develop our training offer.
• Lead the implementation of training, including: ○ Work with the Head of Community to develop processes to recruit and onboard changemakers to training opportunities ○ Design training workshops, working in accordance with People’s Economy’s community education framework and principles ○ Oversee the delivery of training workshops facilitated by other staff and freelancers 
• Work collaboratively with the Programme Team to ensure a joined up approach across our work with changemakers

Develop paid training work

• With support from the Programme Director, take a strategic approach to identifying and developing opportunities to undertake paid training work that can both meet People’s Economy’s goals and generate unrestricted income for the organisation
• Hold key relationships, as agreed with the Programme Director, with organisations and individuals who are current and potential clients for paid training work

Supporting other work strands

• Feed in from a training perspective to the development of People’s Economy’s changemaker community of practice led by the Head of Community
• Feed in from a training perspective to the development and implementation of the organisational communications strategy

Managing projects and people

• Work with the Head of People and Operations to recruit and manage a pool of freelancer Associate Trainers to help deliver People’s Economy’s training work, and lead the training of freelancers to do this work
• Manage freelancers contributing to People’s Economy’s training work and any staff roles which (in future) report to Head of Training
• Manage (or contribute to) non-programme projects that contribute to achieving People’s Economy’s goals, as agreed with the Programme Director

Financial management and income generation

• With support from the Programme Director, develop and manage budgets when leading programmes and projects

About the role

A fantastic opportunity has arisen to join our bank of casual workers as a Welfare Officer, providing cover as required for the SSAFA RAF Service across the UK.

Our Bank Welfare Officers will provide direct and impactful welfare support to RAF personnel and their immediate family on an ad hoc basis when a full-time member of the team is unavailable to do so.

As a trusted and confidential source of support, you will assist our service users with challenges they are facing, from mental ill-health, difficult relationships, domestic abuse, financial and cost-of-living concerns, resettlement, housing, childcare, equality issues, bereavement, military discharge or deployment and many more - no day will be the same, as such this is a great opportunity to develop your knowledge and skills within the Welfare sector.

Our intervention is provided with consent on a non-statutory basis, and you will work with and engage our service users to develop appropriate interventions for individual outcomes.

Our service is transitioning to become more accessible and inclusive, digital technology plays a key role in this, as such you may be asked to use digital technologies to complement and enhance processes and service user experience.

You will work closely with RAF welfare teams, local authorities, health, education, civilian agencies, charities and other military organisations to ensure the best outcome for the service user.

About you

To thrive in this role you will have relevant experience of supporting adults, families and children/young people. You will be able to take a flexible and creative approach to problem solving. You will have excellent communication skills and be able to deliver presentations with confidence.

You will have used Microsoft Office 365 to a high standard. It is important that you have experience of planning and managing your own workload, with minimal supervision.

It would be advantageous if you have experience of carrying out assessments, preparing plans, monitoring and reviewing outcomes.

There will be some travel required and therefore you will need to be able to drive, have access to your own car and be flexible to spend nights away from home occasionally within the UK at short notice.

The Churches Conservation Trust (CCT) has an international award-winning reputation in heritage conservation and regeneration for its own estate. For this reason CCT has been contracted to deliver a programme of work for Historic Chapels Trust (HCT). HCT owns and cares for 20 of the most significant Nonconformist and Catholic chapels no longer in regular use by their congregations, all listed at Grade I and Grade II*.  Key to the project is management of the assets, funded by the National Heritage Memorial Fund (NHMF) through their Cultural Assets Fund (CAF).

As a member of CCT’s national Conservation team you will be the main point of contact for all chapel maintenance related issues, liaising closely with contractors, local groups and volunteers. Alongside the Conservation Projects Manager for Chapels you will deliver the maintenance programme, including regulatory and legal compliance, as well as deal with utilities and insurance of chapels. 10 of the chapels are in our North region, 6 in our West region and 4 are in our South East region.

You will have previous experience in the field of historic buildings maintenance, repair or property management. You will be an effective communicator, be able to plan and deliver your own workload and also work as part of a team. As you’ll be working at chapels throughout England it is essential you have a full driving licence.

The Compliance officer will be instrumental in ensuring CCT complies with best practice in relation to the storage and use of people’s personal information, ensuring compliance with the relevant GDPR regulations and will also be responsible for ensuring that the CCT’s policies and procedures are compliant with the relevant Government Functional Standards as well as following good practice in relation to its governance policies and procedures.

The post holder will work with every team, at all levels across CCT, to help embed a risk-based approach to data protection and decision-making, championing both the intent of data protection law and effective operational outcomes; adopting best recommended practice where there is ambiguity about minimal compliance requirements.

Main purpose and scope of role

Working closely with the President and the Board of Trustees, the CEO will provide strategic vision and leadership and will strive to ensure that IPWSO delivers its charitable purposes and remains successful and sustainable.

Duties and Responsibilities (to include but not limited to)

Leadership

· Strive to ensure that the charitable purposes of IPWSO are followed and that it delivers the public benefit set out in its governing document.

· Take overall responsibility for the management and administration of IPWSO.

· Provide support and information to the Board of Trustees to enable trustees to fulfil their roles and legal responsibilities.

· Pursue close cooperation with, and accountability to, IPWSO’s members.

· Act as an ambassador for IPWSO by representing IPWSO at events and networking to build new strategic relationships.

· Keep abreast of relevant new research, treatment recommendations and service developments for people with Prader-Willi syndrome.

Governance

· Strive to ensure that IPWSO has governance systems in place that enable it to consistently fulfil its legal, statutory and regulatory responsibilities.

· Maintain awareness of risks and changes in the external environment that could affect IPWSO and advise the Board of Trustees accordingly.

· Together with the President manage complaints (including from whistle-blowers) and recommend actions to the Board of Trustees

Finance and Fundraising

· Work with the Treasurer and the Finance Committee to ensure the overall financial health and sustainability of IPWSO.

· Work with the Treasurer and the Finance Committee to prepare budgets for review by the Board of Trustees and to enable IPWSO to operate within its financial means.

· Seek to ensure that appropriate financial reports are submitted to the Charity Commission and other entities as required.

· Support the work of the Fundraising Committee and strive to ensure a sustainable income from both IPWSO members and individual, corporate, philanthropic and government donors.

· Build relationships with potential donors and prepare funding proposals.

· Seek to provide high quality support to existing donors, by means including the preparation of regular reports and updates.

· Seek out and build new income streams.

About the role

We have an exciting opportunity for Advocates to join our team covering Fife and the surrounding area. You will be involved in one-to-one advocacy along with group work across the area; this could be in a clients’ home, hospital, care homes or other suitable community venues and be home based for administrative tasks.  Therefore, access to your own transportation and a suitable home internet connection is essential. 

This is a full time role for 35 hours per week, applicants who do not hold the Level 2 Award in Independent Advocacy will start on £22,500 per annum.
