Exciting Job opportunity: we are looking for a Participation and Development Worker

The National House Project (NHP) takes a ground-breaking approach through its commitment to young people’s ownership to enable young people leaving care to live connected and fulfilling lives. The approach was co-designed with young people from the start. It is based on a groupwork approach and supports young people to move into properties that become their homes whilst also building a strong and supportive friendship network.

NHP supports Local Authorities to establish Local House Projects (LHPs) and puts young people at the centre of the decision-making processes, supports staff to work with them in an inclusive way and encourages staff to work with young people to find the solutions to the challenges they face. LHPs achieve improved outcomes for young people, challenge the way that professionals work with young people and enable young people to leave care in a planned and supported way.

To ensure that young people are involved at every level of the organisation each LHP elects 2 young people to represent them at the Care Leavers National Movement (CLNM). This forum provides the platform to hear, amplify and act on the voice of young people, who not only support the development of their own LHP but also contribute to developing practice and policy at a national level. CLNM meet regularly, undertake Peer Evaluations, host and deliver their own National Conference and provide an ‘expert user’ consultancy.  Members from this group also sit on the Board of Trustees as expert advisors.

We are looking for someone who is motivated and experienced in working with young people in care to join this national charity.  You will work with the Care Leavers National Movement as well as the core NHP team to ensure that young people continue to drive our work at both a local and national level.

You will need to have a professional/academic qualification in a related field e.g., Youth Work, Social Work, Education, Health. Current registration with a professional body is desirable. The NHP office is in Crewe. We support hybrid working and currently spend a minimum of two days in the office.  In this role you will be expected to travel to LHPs and attend meetings across the country on a regular basis. The Alcohol & Drug Service (ADS) are a registered charity who have been transforming the lives of people affected by drugs and alcohol misuse for over 40 years.

East Riding Partnership (ERP) – is a partnership between ADS and Humber Teaching NHS trust. It has three hubs, Hull, Bridlington and Goole. We are looking for a Housing Mobile Night Worker to provide floating support to our teams in high support 24-hour projects as well as medium support and transitional housing units to ensure that our properties are safe, secure, and welcoming through the night. You will be working across Brighton and Hove as well as Worthing to support the static night worker during the night as well as undertaking your mobile duties.

Working on site you will be responsible for ensuring the service is safe by keeping clear records of night time activity within the building. You will regularly complete building checks and monitor CCTV upkeeping health and safety regulations in accordance with YMCA DLG's policies and procedures.  You will work to prevent any anti-social behaviour from impacting our neighbours and other residents. You will work alongside other support staff to maximise the wellbeing of residents by completing one to one interventions with young people who may be experiencing mental health crisis and/or who may need medical assistance.

About the service

Children and young people who are looked after don’t always have a trusted adult that they can rely upon for support, with many young people not having someone that they can talk to or trust.

Our independent visitor service provides looked after children and young people with an adult volunteer who spends time with them, offering support and friendship whilst being a positive role model to enable young people to build on their confidence and self-esteem, whilst helping learn new skills and raise their aspirations.

About the role

We are looking for a passionate and enthusiastic IV Coordinator who will be responsible for the day to day running of the independent visitor service in Solihull and Bedford, splitting your time between these two services working 27 hours for Solihull and 8 hours for Bedford.

You will be responsible for managing and developing a pool of volunteers which includes the recruitment, training, and induction of new volunteers to become volunteer independent visitors, before matching them with a young person who has been referred to the service.

You will provide continuous support to volunteers to ensure that the service is being delivered to a high standard, and that children and young people are safeguarded at all times.

Early Intervention and Prevention services (Including Purple Leaf and Branch) is part of West Mercia Rape and Sexual Abuse Support Centre (WMRSASC). WMRSASC has been supporting survivors of all types of sexual abuse and sexual violence for over 35 years and provides a range of services including advocacy, therapy, online and a helpline service

Early Intervention and Prevention services is an organisation dedicated to working to eradicate sexual violence through:

The Person

We are looking for confident individuals to join us in this critical work in preventing ongoing sexual harm. You will need to have knowledge and understanding of sexual violence and its impact, strong crisis management skills and skills in providing non-judgemental trauma informed support. The Role

This exciting new role will be required to provide a range of early interventions for children impacted by sexual harm or sexual exploitation.

The post holder will conduct assessments, provide recommendations, provide time limited non-criminal justice advocacy and psychosocial education to support the needs of children and young people who have either experienced sexual abuse, sexual exploitation or sexual harm. (This also could lead to an opportunity to work with children that have caused sexual harm to others).

Tasks include:

- To provide time limited non- criminal justice advocacy, psychosocial education and support to children and young people and their families who have experienced sexual violence/have caused sexual harm to others.
- To develop and deliver interventions based on individual needs of clients.
- To undertake risk and needs assessments (including specialist AIM assessment where required for children who have caused sexual harm) and undertake associated report writing and recommendations.
- Collaborate and support a range of multiagency partners to ensure the most appropriate pathway of support for the individual survivor.
- Advocate on behalf of those impacted by sexual harm to ensure they can have access to a range of services based on need.
- Carry out institutional advocacy and stakeholder engagement and communication to enhance to wellbeing of all survivors of sexual violence.
- Ensure all risk and safeguarding processes and procedures are followed.
- To undertake evaluation and outcome meetings and data reporting to ensure continuous development of services.
- To support the group work facilitation of the delivery of psychosocial education in schools, colleges and community settings.
- Represent and promote WMRSASC in meetings and events.

We have roles focused in the Worcestershire area, all role holders will be expected to travel across West Mercia as and when there is a need.

Improving the safety and life opportunities of the people who use their services and supporting them in their recovery. They support the people they work with to overcome the experiences they have had, empowering them to build up the skills and resources they need to take control of their own lives, access a tenancy of their own and maintain a quality of life in the long term.

We are currently recruiting for 3 Evening / Night Assistant Domestic Abuse Support Workers to join the team on a permanent basis following the successful acquisition of a new Refuge service in Rochdale. This is part time role, working 16.33 hours per week on a 3-week rolling rota.

The role

• To accept new referrals and complete move in procedures for new clients, including supporting flat turnarounds, cleaning, and re-stock to ensure there is no delay in accommodation any referral.
• Ensure the upkeep and security of the building and take responsibility for any cash and equipment.
• Maintaining an understanding and awareness of and adhering to all support plans and risk assessments and to update the Domestic Abuse Support Worker (DASW) of changes to risk or incidents.
• To provide feedback to the DASW regarding tenant's SMART plans and aims achieved, recorded documentation on client database.
• To complete risk assessments for activities both 1-1 and group work, incorporating safety planning, reviewing on a regular basis.
• To work with clients and other staff to devise an annual plan for client involvement, to actively engage the individuals and families within the Rochdale DA safe accommodation service, promoting lived experience involvement in service delivery and improvement.
• Facilitate evening group work and promote, monitor and evaluate involvement sessions in conjunction with the people using services.
• To work in-line with the project's budget, adhering to financial policies and procedures.
• To monitor the security and safety of the premises on an ongoing basis, including CCTV, front door entry system and alarm system.
• To be responsible and accountable for the efficient recording, storing and maintaining of client records including contact notes, correspondence, incident reporting, handovers, risk updates and outcomes achieved.
• Record and manage any anti-social behaviour or neighbour nuisance and respond appropriately according to escalation procedure.
• Address any instances of non-engagement or perceived obstacles to support via a trauma informed approach.

The candidate

• Relevant qualification in Domestic Abuse / IDVA / ISVA or equivalent diploma / degree / NVQ 3 or equivalent work level experience and the willingness to achieve a level 3 qualification.
• An extensive understanding of individuals and families who have or are experiencing domestic abuse.
• Knowledge of working as part of a team, working on own initiative and managing time effectively.
• Ability and knowledge of planning, promoting, or delivering group work sessions with evaluation.
• Knowledge of providing support on agreed outcomes of assessment support plans.
• Knowledge of assessing and implementing risk assessments, including DASH Ric.

Role: Self-employed Form F Assessor

Locations:  North East (Travel will include areas such as Hexham, Morpeth, Newcastle, Sunderland, Hartlepool, Darlington, Durham, Stockton and Middlesbrough)

Pay - £2,000 per Form F Assessment / £33 per hour, plus 45p mileage

We are recruiting sessional assessing social workers to undertake Form F assessments. Our assessments are undertaken face to face. Applicants should be able to travel across the North East for assessment visits to prospective foster carers. Travel will include the following areas.

• Hexham
• Morpeth 
• Newcastle
• Sunderland
• Hartlepool
• Darlington
• Durham
• Stockton
• Middlesbrough

Key Duties for Form F Assessors include:

• To undertake and complete Form F assessments in the timescale set out in our policy and guidance.
• To visit personal referees as identified on application form for prospective foster carers.
• To ensure that all checks and references are undertaken and completed.
• To provide to the supervisor, regular written updates of the draft assessment.
• To liaise with our administrative team concerning the progress of administrative checks and completion of the Form F.
• To be available for supervision, consultation or liaison as required.
• To be available to present completed Form Fs to the virtual fostering panel and provide support to the applicants through this process.
• To be aware of our child protection procedures and immediately report any child protection matter or concerns to a TACT manager and any relevant placing authority and the area authority.
• To carry out the duties in line with our Foster Carer and Supervising Social Worker Standards and Practice Guidance.

Rates of Pay for Form F Assessors

• We will pay £2000  (inclusive of VAT) upon successful completion of a Form F Assessment.
• £33 per hour for assessments which are not completed, and any other piece of work.

You will be DipSW, CSS or CQSW qualified and registered with the relevant regulatory body (Social Work England, Social Care Wales or Scottish Social Services Council).

An Enhanced DBS/PVG check will be required for this role and will be undertaken  by TACT on your behalf.

The Hepatitis C Trust has developed projects nationally whereby peers use their lived experience of injecting drug use and hepatitis C, to provide education and training to service users and staff in drug and alcohol, hostel and homeless services, increasing hepatitis C awareness, access to testing and referral to treatment, for people living with hepatitis C.

Do you have experience of working in drug services and with volunteers? Have you been affected by hepatitis C or have you supported anyone who has hepatitis C? We are looking for a passionate and skilled peer lead who has excellent communication and organisational skills. We require a good standard of education and welcome creativity and innovation in all our work.

Working under the guidance of the West Yorks Peer Programme Manager, this post will continue the development of the project, recruiting and coordinating peers across identified areas of the West Yorkshire ODN network. Working in partnership with hepatitis C clinical teams, drug and alcohol services and homeless service providers, the post will coordinate delivery of educational workshops, hepatitis C testing in community settings, ensure that service users are referred and supported through hepatitis C treatment and care.

This post will require extensive travel across the region and the post holder is required to hold a clean driving licence and have their own vehicle for work related travel.
