About the role

We have an exciting opportunity for an Advocate to join our team covering Edinburgh. You will be involved in one-to-one advocacy along with group work across the area; this could be in a clients’ home or other suitable community venue and be home based for telephone for administrative tasks.  Therefore, access to your own transportation and a suitable home internet connection is essential. 

This is a full-time role for 35 hours per week, applicants who do not hold the Level 2 Award in Independent Advocacy will start on £22,500 per annum.

The Social Media Manager is an integral role within the Marketing team at CoppaFeel! and will play an essential part in supporting our 3-year organisational growth strategy. The Social Media Manager needs to be social obsessed with a keen eye for new and emerging trends that will ensure CoppaFeel!’s social channels organically reach our 18 - 24 year old target audience. 

In this role you’ll work with our Senior Social Media Manager to execute and manage the delivery of our social media strategy. CoppaFeel! is the UK’s only breast cancer charity awareness charity for young people. Our mission is to ensure all breast cancers are diagnosed early and accurately by educating young people on the signs and symptoms of breast cancer, encouraging them to check and empowering them to speak to their GP if they notice something unusual.

VOICES are excited to be seeking our first full time fundraiser to support our growth and development. We are looking for an individual who has relevant sector experience, a good knowledge and understanding of fundraising and a commitment to working in a trauma informed way. As a survivor led organisation, we are looking for someone who shares our ethos and will be proactive in consulting with our Lived Experience Group(s).

You will work closely with the CEO to help secure the long-term future of VOICES, through expanding and diversifying our income generation.

With a good understanding and knowledge of grants and trusts fundraising, you will also help direct our future – with consideration to community fundraising, charity shop and/or social enterprise. Whilst we’ve many ideas about what it might look like, no decisions have yet been made and we’re keen to work collaboratively with our new fundraiser and hear their vision.

At VOICES, we have big ambitions which would cement our role as sector leader in recovery services and ensuring survivors’ voices remain at the heart of policy and practice.

This role will also involve working to help develop VOICES’ name, increasing community awareness of our charity. You will therefore bring with you, knowledge of social media, marketing and communications and/or a willingness to learn.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

- Develop, oversee and actively lead the implementation of a fundraising strategy which exploits a wide range of fundraising opportunities, maintains diverse and sustainable income streams, and builds the organisation’s voluntary income capacity to meet its aims and objectives.

- Oversee and support the development of fundraising, with consideration to diversifying our income avenues.

- Working closely with the CEO and Finance Assistant, maintain an overview of funding across the organisation and analyse income sources to manage the fundraising strategy, assess progress against targets and contribute towards our financial capacity.

- Absorb the knowledge of the team and consult with them regarding priorities, representation, approach and model.

- Work with the CEO to develop high quality grants and trusts applications (our current main source of income).

- Build on our existing corporate partnerships and establish / develop new corporate partnerships for VOICES.

- Attend Finance Committee meetings and the Board of Trustees, reporting on fundraising and progress against the strategy.

- Help to grow the name of VOICES, through use of relationships, partnerships, marketing and communications.

- Work closely with the Centre Administrator to agree a planned approach to social media.

- Working with the VOICES team, consider the role of volunteers in VOICES – taking management responsibility for any fundraising volunteers.

- In line with our trauma-informed ethos, adopt a trauma-informed approach.

- Work with clients, including the Lived Experience Group, to hear their ideas for fundraising and enable their participation in events / volunteer opportunities where appropriate.

- Develop and maintain relationships with a variety of key stakeholders including Clients, funders (including trusts, companies, major donors), Trustees and volunteers.

- Continuously monitor and evaluate fundraising activities, taking corrective action or enhancing them when necessary

We are recruiting a Dad Matters Coordinator to help us reach more families across Barnet, Brent and Harrow. They will work alongside our team of Coordinators, local Family Hubs and a range of services including Maternity, Health Visiting and Children's Services. 

The Dad Matters Coordinator will deliver a range of universal and targeted interventions aimed at fathers in the First 1001 Days. They will support dads and other male carers with attachment and bonding, mental health and access to service. They also work with professionals and perinatal services to ensure dads and male carers are engaged, supported and heard within clinical pathways. Addtionally, they will help develop and run sessions with dads and will  be at the forefront of growing our Dad Matters volunteering opportunities.

This is a new post, and we are looking for someone who can build on our existing relationships and make a real impact on the mental health and wellbeing of new dads and dads-to-be. 

The work requires a combination of field-based community engagement and training, and regular days in the office which is in Finchley, Barnet.

• A proven track record of working within a fundraising events environment and an excellent knowledge of the running and challenge events market

• Experience of managing people and volunteers and using a variety of communication methods to an audience of all levels both internally and externally

• Experience of delivering income and expenditure budgets and developing and working to event plans

About the role:

Reporting to the Head of Public Fundraising you will line manage two Senior Mass Participation Events Fundraisers in the Mass Participation Fundraising Events Team. The role is responsible for delivery of the Mass Participation Events portfolio, providing strategic input and support to grow and develop the portfolio through a range of channels as well as playing a key part in the delivery of key community events throughout the year and liaising with integral and external stakeholders.

The Philanthropy team are moving through a period of change and growth which will set this team up to strategically focus their resources and skill where it is most needed, in order to attract, cultivate and retain strategic philanthropic income.

Reporting to the Head of Partnerships & Philanthropy, the Senior Philanthropy Manager will lead a team to raise philanthropic income at the five, six and seven figure level and deliver a portfolio of successful High Profile Events.  This is a unique opportunity to join CHAS at a key moment in our future developments.

About you

To be successful in this role, you will have skill and experience in the following areas:

• Substantial experience of, and a strong track record in, major gift fundraising, including personally soliciting and stewarding 5, 6 and 7 figure gifts from major donors.
• Good leadership skills with experience of leading a small team, nurturing development and managing performance.
• Excellent verbal, interpersonal and written skills with great attention to detail, and an ability to flex your style according to the audience. 
• Experience in income generating and stewardship event development, project management and delivery.
• Managing a diverse workload with multiple deadlines, deliverables and stakeholders, thinking creatively to leverage opportunities and develop relationships.

A passion for providing the best possible visitor experience will be key, helping to connect our visitors to the amazing wildlife of the North Suffolk Coast reserves and inspiring them to take action for nature.

At Minsmere we welcome around 100,000 visitors each year, with a busy shop and café and incredible wildlife spectacles that make the reserve one of the top nature destinations on the Suffolk coast. Minsmere is an internationally important nature reserve with visitors coming from all over the country, and indeed the world, to get closer to nature here. Maintaining our visitor offer will be vital over the next few years as construction will be taking place for Sizewell C, which is on our southern boundary. We also welcome visitors to Dingle and North Warren, where we also aim to provide a rewarding experience.

You will lead a fantastic team and support a culture of exceptional customer service, maintaining the highest standard of visitor welcome and experience.

Day-to-day this role will involve:

• Managing a team and building strong working relationships.
• Developing income streams.
• Monitoring finances and visitor data.
• Developing successful events.
• Overseeing publicity and interpretation.
• Managing staff and volunteers.
• The role involves working to targets and will involve some weekend and bank holiday working.

This is a great opportunity for someone to have a big positive impact on RSPB income and support, building a cohesive visitor team, and engaging and inspiring both new and traditional audiences at Minsmere nature reserves. There will be opportunities for wider working in collaboration with other RSPB reserves in the area.

Essential skills, knowledge and experience:

• Excellent verbal and written communications skills.
• A natural leader who can build and maintain strong working relationships and motivate and inspire people at all levels.
• Sound understanding of systems and procedures necessary to run a commercial visitor operation.
• Sound knowledge of how to deliver the highest standard of customer care.
• Experience of successfully recruiting, leading and developing a team of volunteers and staff to deliver a joined up, coherent and high-quality visitor offer for all visitors to the reserve.
• Experience of proactively promoting the visitor offer through all available channels to target audiences.
• Proven track record of setting and achieving agreed targets and KPI’s for income generation, quality of visit and footfall targets for the reserve.
• Experience of maximising opportunities for visitor engagement and converting visits into support.
• Experience of organising events and activities with supporting documentation to ensure relevant procedures and legal compliance requirements are met.
• Competence in the full range of Microsoft 365 software.
