We have a new role available for a Part-Time Young People Support Worker to work as part of a team delivering an assessment, support and move on service to vulnerable clients in supported or community based accommodation.

About the Role

As part-time Young People Support Worker you will work under the direction, guidance and support of a manager/senior worker you will be responsible for a caseload of clients as well as share responsibility for the safety and wellbeing of all clients, volunteers and staff in the service.

In accommodation based services you will ensure that the accommodation is properly maintained and support the client to sustain their tenancy and participate in positive and successful move on.

Where the client lives in the community you will ensure that their tenancy is not at risk and that they have the skills and resources to manage and maintain their accommodation.

Key responsibilities include:

· Ensure client safety, wellbeing, and adherence to safeguarding and emergency procedures.

· Deliver high-quality risk assessments, support plans, and one-to-one/group support to build client resilience.

· Foster partnerships with local agencies to support clients while following data protection protocols.

· Engage flexibly and creatively with clients, encouraging their involvement in decisions and participation in activities.

· Support clients in accessing education, training, employment, and volunteering opportunities.

· Maintain health and safety standards, prepare accommodations for new clients, and oversee accurate financial records.

· Collaborate with team members, volunteers, and attend training and meetings as required, ensuring contract compliance.

About You

You will need to have the following skills and experience:

· Experience working with young people or those affected by homelessness.

· Understanding of the needs of individuals facing homelessness, mental health issues, substance misuse, or the care system.

· Knowledge of risk assessments, support planning, safeguarding, and health and safety procedures.

· Strong literacy, numeracy, IT skills, and commitment to diversity, equality, and professional integrity.

· Ability to maintain professional boundaries, work collaboratively, and reflect on practices for continuous development.

Barnardo's Community Wellbeing Team offers an exciting opportunity to join an established service who are supporting children and young poeple who are experiencing difficulties with their emotional health and wellbeing. The Community Wellbeing Teamare funded by the Surrey Wellbeing Partnership and work in partnership with Mindworks (Formally Camhs) . 

Barnardo's Community Wellbeing Team offers support to children and young people through both 1:1 interventions and group work. The Wellbeing Mentors use a strength based approach to work alongside young poeple to support their emotional wellbeing and mental health. Support is offered throughout the community, in family homes, online, schools and public places. The service provides support to children and young poeple who reside throughout Surrey in the following counties; Waverley, Surrey Heath, Woking and Spelthorne,  therefore a full UK driving licence and access to your own car is a must for this role. 

Due to the nature of this work you will hold a small caseload of children and young people which will enable you to build good relationships with the families and through your support will help them effect meaningful change.

You will have experience of working with children and young people and will be required to deliver direct interventions with a range of difficulties and needs. 

You will have a good understanding of emotional literacy and feel confident in supporting children and young people through the use of various therapeutic interventions.

JOB SUMMARY

The postholder will provide outreach services within the community to provide emotional and practical support to young women and girls who have been subject to domestic abuse and sexual abuse or exploitation in order to meet their immediate needs, reduce risk and work towards long term safety and security.

This may also include young women and girls who have been involved in the sex industry or gang involvement. She will inform them of all the sources of help available to them and to facilitate their access to other support services, where it is appropriate.

She will enable access to age appropriate and age effective group work and to support the development of preventative workshops delivered to young women and girls.

MAIN DUTIES

· To provide non-judgemental, one to one emotional and practical support to young women and girls (YW&G) aged 13-25, who have suffered domestic abuse and/or sexual abuse/exploitation.

· To engage YW&G in effective one to one support designed to meet their individual needs.

· To signpost YW&G on to other appropriate agencies and support mechanisms that will help them successfully move forward.

· Complete risk assessments and develop risk management plans to address the risk of harm.

· Undertake safety planning with YW&G to reduce levels of risk.

· Complete needs assessments and individual support plans with the YW&G to ensure their emotional and practical support needs are being met.

· To empower YW&G who have been victims of domestic/sexual abuse/exploitation to take control of their lives and make their own decisions.

· To assist YW&G to access relevant services and agencies within their local area such as housing, counselling, debt, legal advice, health, training, education and support groups.

· To refer service users onto other support services available in Pathway, if appropriate e.g. counselling, legal clinics.

· To work with other services within Pathway Project to deliver the most effective support possible.

· To work in partnership with other agencies and to advocate for YW&G to ensure their needs are being met.

· To advocate on behalf of YW&G, accompanying them to appointments, if appropriate, and ensuring that their wishes and feelings regarding the provision of those services has been taken into account.

· To help develop a programme of group work for YW&G looking at issues such as sexual exploitation, sexting, revenge porn, social media, grooming, healthy relationships and substance misuse.

GENERAL

· Manage an appropriate caseload.

· Maintain, update and keep accurate and factual case records.

· Keep other relevant agencies informed about important changes in YW&G situations, within information sharing protocols.

· Note and feed back to other agencies any consistent difficulties YW&G are having accessing their service, or failures to engage.

· Contribute to the development of service policies, protocols, guidelines and strategies within area of practice as necessary.

· To work within the policies and procedures of the organisation.

· Develop and maintain effective communication systems with key partners including Police, CPS, court service, social services, education, health, victim’s gateway, witness service, voluntary sector organisations, CAFCASS.

· Participate in team meetings.

· Provide specialist advice to other workers and agencies.

· To participate in networking opportunities.

· To provide monitoring and reports as required.

· To ensure that the security of sensitive data is maintained and complies with the policies, procedures and guidelines of the organisation.

Person Specification

Essential

Ability to drive with a clean driving license and access to a vehicle.

Confident and eloquent speaker and networker.

Experience of supporting clients in any form.

Has an understanding of the issues facing YW&G.

Experience of working with vulnerable clients.

Job Title: Application Support Analyst

Refuge is about to embark on a major programme of change to its business systems. This role will be crucial to the success of the programme.

We are looking an Application Support Analyst to work with our Business Systems Analyst in the implementation of these systems, including testing and training users. Once the systems are live the Application Support Analyst will be responsible for day to say issues, monitoring the support inbox and liaising with the provider to resolve issues. They will also be expected to create a training plan for new and existing staff.

Specialist Behavioural Support Workers are responsible for the customer's emotional, psychological wellbeing as well as providing support to help them develop the life skills they require to meet the assessed needs. At Nimrod House, this will include providing physical, emotional, domestic, and social care. They will work with customers to promote social inclusion and alongside other members of the team to promote independent living, encouraging customers to maximise their skills and choices.

What you'll do:
Behaviour Analysis:
- You are liable to observing and monitoring the customer's behaviours, the duration, the intensity, and the damage, as well as factors that may alleviate or trigger the behaviour.

Sutton Community Works (SCW) is a Christian charity in South London. Sutton Foodbank is one of our faith in action projects and we are looking for a dedicated manager to oversee the smooth delivery of this amazing project supported by almost 100 volunteers!

Our vision is for our faith in action projects to contribute to a safe and flourishing community in Sutton.

Our work focuses on areas including food poverty, young people, rough sleepers and homelessness. In all our work, our ethos is to love God and others in all we do and say, ensuring people feel seen, heard, understood, and helped.

Sutton Foodbank has been helping people in food crisis since 2009, and supported nearly 4000 adults and children in 2024. We are open 5 times per week across 4 different venues and people are referred to by referral partners across the borough. Details of our sessions can be found on Sutton Foobank website.

Sessions are run by our dedicated volunteers who come from local churches; and our dependable warehouse, restocking and transport volunteers always ensure food gets safely to where it is needed.

People visiting the foodbank come from a vast variety of backgrounds but all have faced difficult life experiences. Beyond food, we also want people to access support to improve their situation, so we commision Citizens Advice to come to the foodbank sessions to help people maximise their income and provide advice on topics such as housing, debt and benefits.

And as a Christian project we underpin everything with prayer, and actively offer prayer to our clients too. The genuine care and compassion from our volunteers helps to build trusting relationships so we can more effectively listen, pray and signpost people to other support. 

As our Foodbank Manager, you can use your leadership experience, excellent communication and organisational skills and Christian faith in a way that makes a real difference in people's lives.

Salary: £32,000 per annum (plus 5% pension commencing from successful completion of probation period).

Hours: 37.5 hours per week

Working Pattern: Monday – Friday, 9am – 5:30pm. Occasional weekend or evening working required, depending on the needs of the Foodbank and of SCW.

Annual Leave: 28 days per annum, including bank holidays

Location: Work is expected to take place in a mixture of locations within London Borough of Sutton, including the office (Highfield Hall, 320 Carshalton Road, SM5 3QB), Foodbank venues and Big Yellow Storage (Kimpton Park Way, Sutton, SM3 9QS). There is also likely to be some travel across the borough. Other time may be worked from home, pending agreement with the Operations Manager.

Occupational Requirement: This role involves offering and participating in Christian prayer with members of the public and volunteers, leading devotions and group prayers, and providing pastoral care and faith-based leadership to Christian staff and volunteers. It is therefore an occupational requirement for the post-holder to be a practicing Christian.

Role purpose is to:

• Manage smooth and safe day-to-day delivery of Sutton Foodbank, supporting volunteers and clients and ensuring food stock is sufficient and managed safely (65%)
• Maintain and increase capacity of the service coordinating food drive activity, maintaining excellent relationships with food donors, volunteers and other external organisations, and assisting with onboarding new volunteers (25%)
• Contribute to the ongoing development of Sutton Foodbank, by delivering operational activity which aims to decrease people’s need to return to the Foodbank (10%)
• Keep Christ central to activities in the Foodbank (always)

This is a varied role and an excellent way of gaining experience in the homelessness sector, specifically working with Young People. Casual Workers provide first contact, safeguarding and support to the residents in our Supported Accommodation services. The post-holder will be responsible for controlling access to the building, dealing with emergencies, carrying out Health and Safety checks and communicating any concerns or events to the rest of the team. You will also collaborate with team members and support the team in their work with residents.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Working collaboratively as part of an integral, multi-disciplinary team addressing the physical, emotional and social needs of children and young people who may be neurodivergent, as well as their families using the service
• Maintaining relevant knowledge and understanding of safeguarding standards, ensuring compliance with Norwood’s policies and procedures for promoting the welfare of children and young people as well as vulnerable young adults
• Meeting with children, young people and their families at the centre (or other community settings) or in a remote working environment (adhering to Norwood guidelines) with a view to undertaking comprehensive assessments of individual needs using a strengths-based approach, understanding the impact of neurodiversity, planning appropriate responses in partnership with children and young people and their families
• Working with statutory and other authorities and community organisations to the benefit of the families we work with
• Advising families we work with and support, on relevant legal frameworks, which may affect them
• Monitoring, reviewing and evaluating interventions in collaboration with families and recognising the changing needs/ revising interventions as appropriate
• Enabling those who we are working with and supporting to develop personal skills and strategies to improve outcomes in the identified areas in their life
• Writing reports, maintaining accurate and up to date records on the organisation’s case management system and attending any meetings or case conferences in relation to the children/young people, parents and carers to whom they are providing or have provided a service
• Liaising on behalf of those we are supporting with the Local Authority, the NHS, and other agencies in the public and independent sectors to improve outcomes for the family
• Supporting the child/ young person and their families with financial assistance applications when appropriate

Essential Skills and Experience:

• Social Worker Degree or equivalent
• Registered Social Worker with Social Work England
• Previous experience as a Social Worker either in statutory or voluntary sector Children’s Services
• Understanding of the multitude of needs faced by neurodivergent children and their families
• Sound knowledge of all relevant legislation, statutory guidance and regulations, specifically in relation to safeguarding children/young people and vulnerable adults
• Full clean driving licence, access to a car and be able to use for business purposes
