As a successful Prospect Development Manager at Alzheimer’s Society, you will lead an exciting variety of projects and work collaboratively with a broad range of internal stakeholders. About the Role:

Job Description

The First Contact Navigators play a central role in the CARA team, ensuring that our service users and other agencies receive a high-quality service from the moment of first contact. You will work as part of a wider team of First Contact Navigators across Essex and the post liaises with clients, the CARA team and external agencies, providing advice, support and information. 

The First Contact Navigator will engage with individuals who are experiencing, or who have experienced, sexual violence and or sexual abuse who require information, signposting and short-term support.  You will be the first contact and conduct first meetings, managing your own caseload and co-ordinating personalised support for individuals on their pathway to wellbeing. You will have strong communication, interpersonal and negotiation skills with the ability to work under minimal supervision. You will support people who use CARA services to make informed decisions about their wellbeing, maximising their independence and engaging in appropriate community or clinical resources. You will work collaboratively with service users, the CARA team and other professional agencies to navigate and coordinate services.

The main responsibilities of the post are:

• To act as a first point of contact for new referrals and enquiries, providing information, emotional support, advice and signposting.

• To complete first contact calls and assessments with clients over the telephone. 

• To ensure information about new referrals/enquiries is accurately recorded on CARA’s database in real time.

• To work collaboratively and build trust with service users, agencies, personal and professional support networks to collate relevant information to effect individualised support requirements.

• To assess and engage service users not currently engaged in appropriate specialist sexual violence services.

• To seek and respond to referrals from a variety of internal and external sources.

• To assist survivors and relatives/supporters of survivors in understanding the range of resources and services available to them.

• To support service users to engage effectively with appropriate services to meet their individual needs and aspirations.

• To work as a link between clients, CARA staff and external agencies, ensuring appropriate information is passed on. 

• To work closely with the Essex-wide team of First Contact Navigators and Information and Referral Coordinators to ensure effective referral processes across Essex.

• To act as a point of contact for external agencies making referrals to CARA, answering queries about our referral process.

• To cover the enquiry line and the office phone and deal with enquiries as required. 

• To pro-actively promote CARA’s services to external agencies, ensuring they are aware of our referral procedures.

• To contribute to development of promotional information, to ensure information about the referral process is clear and accessible.

• To attend regular team meetings and to work with colleagues to further the objectives of CARA.

• To adhere in full to all CARA’s organisational policies and procedures, including safeguarding procedures.

• To report to the Service Development Manager, Head of Operations, CEO and Trustees as required, including the production of regular written reports. 

• To be administratively self-servicing.

• To undertake any other related activities as required by the Head of Operations, CEO or the Chair of the Board of Trustees.

• To take on new client, office and administration responsibilities as CARA develops.

The Executive Assistant to the Chief Development Officer and the Director of Development (EA to CDO and DoD) will provide proactive senior-level support within a busy office and theatre environment.

The EA to CDO and DoD will support the Chief Development Officer (CDO) and the Director of Development (DoD) in delivering their roles efficiently and effectively, focusing on comprehensive inbox and diary management to ensure strategic prioritisation of commitments. They will source and / or draft briefings as needed for donor meetings and events and ensure prompt and sensitive follow-up is carried out.

As an engaged and diplomatic communicator, they would act as first point of contact for all matters relating to the CDO and DoD, working in partnership with colleagues in the Development team, and more widely across the organisation. About the Role

We are looking for a Grants Team Administrator to join our Grants Team. Successful candidates will enjoy delivering strong administrative support to the wider team, knowing that their work is important to enabling our grant programme to reach young people and the staff and organisations who support them.

The Grants Team Administrator will report to and provide support to the Head of Grants Team, as well as the Senior Grants Officer and our team of 4 Grants Officers. Your work will help us to find new organisations, carry out due diligence checks for new applications, review reports, improve our communications, and providing data insight for our schemes across all London and Essex. This role would suit someone who is highly organised, with strong attention to detail and enjoys working on a database.

The successful candidate will be someone who is keen to develop their administrative experience in a busy grant -making organisation and develop their skills in using a grant management database – we use Salesforce. Purpose of Job
To provide administrative support to the Grants Team, Head of Grants and Senior Grants Officer to ensure the effective delivery of the Achievement Award scheme, and its associated grants, across London and Essex.

1 Main Areas of Responsibility 

• Support Grants Officers by carrying out an initial review of Achievement Award applications.
• Support Grants Officers in following up any applications missing relevant documents and to carry out due diligence checks.
• Assist Grants Team to identity organisations who may be eligible to join our scheme and assist with communication. Support Grants Officers to follow up any stalled, or lapsed, applications or grant reports.
• Support to Grants Officers in processing grant acceptance paperwork, including sending offer letters, actioning acceptances and scheduling payments.
• Support the Grants Team during busy periods by helping to manage calls and email enquiries from grantees, with potential to also help process and assess other small applications and grants.
• Support the Senior Grants Officer with basic application and report processing in their region, in order that they can provide team training and lead quality control.
• Organise and maintain the Grants Team online filing directory.
• Provide administrative support to the Grants Officer leading on our volunteering grants programme, Individual Grants for Volunteering. This will include checking applications for accuracy, eligibility and completeness and any other admin duties, as requested, to support the smooth progress of funding requests through the grant pipeline.

2 Administrative support to Head Of Grants

• Scheduling meetings, book rooms, coordinating agendas and managing minutes and actions for Grants Team meetings. Book and manage appointments for Coordinator training.
• On request, proofread external communications from the Head of Grants and the Grants Team to grantees or applicants prior to sending. Support with improving grants correspondence, amending published application guidance and updating the website and Community area with any approved changes.
• Liaise with the Operations Team to coordinate the accurate and timely production of spreadsheets of monthly grant recommendations for the Head of Grants and trustees
• Support the Head of Grants and Senior Grants Officer with grant integrity checks to ensure that grant records are up to date and the information accurate.
• Support the Head of Grants in running audit checks across our grants records, checking for documentation and gathering information from grantees, as requested by the Head of Grants.
• Support the Head of Grants in running monthly reports across our Salesforce database to capture information about numbers and types of organisations funded and beneficiary numbers.

3 Other Responsibilities

• To actively contribute to Grants and JPF Team meetings.
• Act at all times within JPF’s ethos and policies and implement JPF values in your day to day work.
• Undertake any other tasks/projects that may be agreed with the Head of Grants or Executive Team

Action Village India (AVI) is a small UK based organisation that since 1989, has been supporting Indian partner organisations who work alongside villagers in some of the most remote parts of rural India so they can improve their lives, livelihoods and resilience. JOB DESCRIPTION

Job Title: Fundraising and Partnerships Manager

Job Purpose: To develop fundraising proposals and raise funds from trusts and foundations. To raise funds for Action Village India through our trading activities and events.

Reports to: Executive Director

Salary: £30,000 pro rata

Hours:21 hours per week (equivalent to 3 working days) – ideally including Wednesday and Thursday.

By agreement there is an option to work an additional 11 events days over the full year. This is related to WOMAD and our other events. This is revised annually based on the agreed workplan.

Location:Dalston, London (5 Balls Pond Road, N1 4AX)

Contract: Permanent, pending a successful 6-month probationary period

Annual Leave: 25 days (pro rata)

Pension scheme: Action Village India provides access to an auto-enrolment pension plan through the Pensions Trust for all staff who have completed 6 months of satisfactory service with 3% employer contribution.

FUNDRAISING

1.1 Fundraising Management and Donor Liaison:

• In line with Action Village India’s project funding priorities, research and develop fundraising proposals for new and ongoing projects to be submitted to major donors, trusts and foundations as well as other appropriate sources.
• Keep up to date spreadsheets and databases tracking donor deadlines, the status of applications and reporting deadlines.
• Ensure that material from partners for monitoring reports is developed as needed and work to ensure that reports are submitted as required and to agreed deadlines.
• Support the Executive Director with fundraising and reporting to individuals and trusts.

1.2Events

• Plan and manage, in collaboration with the Action Village India team, the events for the year
• Attend Action Village India fundraising events (evenings and weekends as agreed with the team)
• Attend WOMAD festival and support the Action Village India team with the successful running of the Action Village India stall and presence at the festival.

PERSON SPECIFICATION

EXPERIENCE

• Ideal minimum of three years proven experience in fundraising from trusts and foundations, events and individual giving.
• Proven experience in writing project proposals and reports for funders.
• Proven success in raising funds from trusts and foundations in the UK, working alone or perhaps as part of a larger fundraising team.
• Experience co-organising events and fundraising activities.

KNOWLEDGE and SKILLS

• Knowledge of Trusts and Foundations and institutional fundraisers particularly in the UK.
• Knowledge of the international solidarity and development landscape and/or familiar with funder processes, databases and requirements.
