We are looking for an exceptional Grants Commissioning Manager (Scotland), with a focus on Faslane. This is a senior management role working as part of the Grants team within the RNRMC at a time when the Charity’s strategy has a real focus on beneficiary need and impact, managing RNRMC commissioned grants in Scotland, ensuring that the funds are awarded in accordance with the Charities Values and Outcomes Framework.    

The role will work strategically with The Director of Relationships and Funding to support and deliver the charities funding plans for Scotland and support the Head of Commissioned Grants with all elements of the commissioning cycle including understanding need, designing projects, performance management of delivery and reporting of impact.  Working with internal and external stakeholders, the role will involve the oversight and good governance of grants programmes to ensure quality, evidenced outputs, and value for money of projects.      

In addition, you will lead and manage the Grants Administrator (Scotland, taking responsibility for actively and proactively supporting them to achieve in their post.

You will also possess good organisational skills and be able to prioritise a varied and busy workload and deliver to deadlines.  You will be self-motivated and enthusiastic, be able to think strategically to resolve problems and make recommendations and present options for approval.

Key Responsibilities

Spear Programme

• Lead group sessions of up to 10 young people, using coaching skills to transform their mindsets, and to maximise their potential in stepping into the world of work.
• Prepare and deliver coaching sessions on a weekly basis and find creative ways of developing ongoing relationships with Spear Trainees. This includes running application workshops with past Trainees as well as maintaining records and reporting on statistics.

Relationship management

• Build and manage relationships with a variety of stakeholders, including referrers, local businesses, and other organisations.
• You will support with job fairs, mock interview days and welcoming external visitors to the centre.

Church Community

• The Spear Coach is directly employed by The Mount, meaning you are part of a vibrant church staff team and submerged in an exciting faith community.

Role Overview

Around 75% of your time will be devoted to securing funding from trusts and foundations. In this role, you’ll support a visually impaired Guide Dogs Employee and Guide Dog owner, helping them perform their duties effectively through a mix of remote and in-person support. In-person support will be required once or twice a week locally in Stevenage involving tasks such as providing sighted guidance to navigate unfamiliar environments, helping with access to systems on a laptop, or describing the layout of rooms at events.

Your Microsoft Office expertise will be put to great use as you assist with a variety of administrative tasks, including document formatting, PowerPoint presentations, and note-taking. Your eye for detail will ensure that all documents are clear, accessible, and well-organised.

You’ll also help with travel arrangements as and when required, including collecting the employee from home and going to train station or providing a lift from their home to various Guide Dogs sites. A full, clean driving license and access to a vehicle are essential. You’ll provide sighted guidance, ensuring the employee can navigate unfamiliar environments with confidence. As the employee is a Guide Dog owner, being comfortable with dogs and helping with their care, such as exercise, will be part of the role as well.

Your excellent communication skills and person-centred approach will be key in building a close, trusting relationship with the employee. Flexibility will also be crucial, as you’ll need to adapt to changing tasks and demands.

This role requires the ability to work under pressure and take initiative, managing your workload efficiently. Whether assisting with travel, preparing documents, or providing sighted guidance, your proactive attitude and organisational skills will be key to your success.

You will be fully trained in tasks such as sighted guiding and how to work confidently around a Guide Dog, ensuring that you feel supported and equipped, even if you haven’t had experience in this space before. The role is 35 hours per week, Monday to Friday, 9am to 5pm. Occasional flexibility will be required to work outside of core hours, including weekends and overnight stays.

Together we provide professional advice and guidance to those responsible for the care of children and vulnerable adults throughout the Church in our diocese.

The main responsibilities of the Assistant Diocesan Safeguarding Adviser are:

· To respond and manage safeguarding concerns and allegations against church officers

· Provide specialist guidance and support to parishes on safeguarding matters such as domestic abuse, child and adult at risk concerns.

· To support victims and survivors of abuse

· Work with individuals who have convictions and/or who may present a safeguarding risk, to worship safely

· To assist in the development and implementation of safeguarding policies and procedures.

· To work collaboratively with parish safeguarding officers, church leaders, senior leaders and partner agencies

We’re seeking a dynamic individual who shares our passion for supporting parents and young children.

In this role you will engage directly with families, visiting them each week to provide holistic support to families with young children, for a wide range of needs.  The Early Years Family Worker will tend to support families facing more complex circumstances. This might include factors like disability or emerging additional needs, multi-agency support, or a history of domestic abuse.

You will play a crucial part in assisting parents as they navigate the challenges of family life. This will involve listening to parents, building on their strengths, and helping them access activities, or help to improve family life.  Additionally, you will work with the children, engaging in play and other activities that support their development. Through role modelling and direct interaction, you will help create a nurturing environment that encourages both parental confidence and child growth.

You will play a crucial part in offering and developing resources tailored to their needs. As well as offering practical support, a key aspect of the role is building trusting relationships. This position offers a meaningful chance to make a positive impact when families need it the most.  Our ideal candidate will:

· Be able to put people at ease and embody the Home-Start ethos of no judgement and #RealLifeParenting

· Have experience working in a family support role

· Have a strong understanding of the needs of families with young children (0-5)

· Have knowledge or experience of supporting children’s early learning and development

· Have safeguarding experience

· Be able to work collaboratively and build positive relationships with a variety of people and organisations.

Hours of work: 24 hours per week

Salary: £29,572 (FTE), pro-rata for part-time hours, actual salary £19,182
