Support Line Worker, £30,000 - £32,000 per annum, pro-rata. Part-time, remote working.
 

The Rape and Sexual Abuse Support Centre (Rape Crisis South London) is looking for a committed, resilient and skilled helpline support worker to provide high quality emotional support, information and signposting in our Support Line team.  
 

The post-holder will provide emotional support, information and signposting to survivors of any form of sexual violence, of any gender, aged 16 and upwards, and their supporters via phone calls and webchats. Support Line Workers also provide support to colleagues and volunteers as part of their daily duties. Successful applicants will have experience of providing emotional support on a telephone helpline or experience providing support to survivors of sexual violence. You will need to have good knowledge and understanding of the impact of sexual violence and an intersectional feminist and anti-oppressive approach. 
 

We will provide the successful candidate with: 
 

• Monthly clinical supervision 
• A salary of £30 – 32,0000 per annum, dependent on experience, pro rata

Role Overview 

You will be integral to achieving our strategic priorities of generating income through repeat support, and providing exceptional supporter journeys for our community, ensuring they feel valued and engaged.

We are looking for a registered nurse to join us as a Clinical Trials Support Nurse in our innovative Clinical Trials Support Service.  

You’ll be delivering high quality information and support to those looking to enter a blood cancer clinical trial. Working alongside a team of specialist nurses, you’ll be giving patients and their loved ones the knowledge and confidence to better understand and potentially access clinical trials, together with the time and space so often not available from their clinical team given the extensive pressures of the NHS. 

You’ll also have the opportunity to participate in exciting project work as we look to increase our reach and value for the blood cancer community, ensuring clinical trials become more accessible for all. 

You’ll have extensive haemato-oncology experience as a research, clinical trials or specialist nurse.

As a Housing Support Worker, you will support people with a history of drug and/or alcohol issues who are living in supported housing projects.

You will assist with the daily running of the service and coordinate all aspects of the residents’ care, including referrals, move-in plans, assessments, support planning and case notes.

You will provide practical help and advice to support tenants to keep their tenancies and avoid eviction, including encourage individuals to develop practical skills such as shopping, cooking, and housework.

You will work closely with colleagues and partner agencies to provide a range of interventions to support recovery and help people achieve independent living in the community.

This is an entry-level role, and we understand that not all candidates will have direct work experience in a similar position. Whilst a passion for working with people affected by addiction or homelessness is crucial, you may also have:

• Experience of working with people with complex needs including challenging or negative behaviour, substance misuse and/or criminal offending backgrounds.
• An understanding of the harmful effects associated with drug and alcohol misuse and offending in relation to health, social welfare, housing, employability and personal relationships.
• Experience or an understanding of supporting people to develop their personal strengths and sustain their tenancy within a ‘supported housing’ environment.

• Specialist harm reduction experience.

YMCA Hastings provides medium-low supported accommodation for a total of 47 young people at risk of homelessness, aged 16 to 25, and care experienced young people under the age of 18. We are looking for a Supported Housing Support Worker to join our Hastings Foyer team. Main areas of responsibilities are:

Housing

• Coach young people to manage their occupancy agreement and adhere to house rules, in preparation for independent living. 
• Promote a credit culture, encouraging young people to keep up to date with all payments for rent.
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of housing and welfare benefits for young people and be well-informed on significant changes to housing law.
• Deal effectively with non-compliance issues, such as non-payment of rent or damage to room, using restorative practices and working collaboratively with the rest of the team.

Coaching and Engagement

• Coach young people so they can articulate their aspirations and ambitions and take the lead in acquiring the skills they need to live independent and fulfilling lives.
• Ensure young people are encouraged to take responsibility for their own personal development, to engage with the services on offer and build strong networks and connections within the local community. 
• Ensure consistent standards of safeguarding and Trauma Informed Practice when supporting young people, observing our safeguarding procedures, and keeping yourself and residents safe by respecting professional boundaries.
• Maintain client records on In-Form (client database) detailing the young person’s journey in relation to their strengths and needs, any risks, and any outcomes (to monitor service performance). 

General 

• Work as part of a team, on a rota shift pattern, ensuring young people at the service have non-judgemental, objective, and supportive staff during the day/evening, along with taking responsibility for personal safety during periods of lone working
• Contribute to a great working environment, with a calm, yet assertive manner, being able to handle potentially difficult situations.
• Participate in relevant continuing professional development and utilise Reflective Practice Supervision as part of leading psychologically informed practice.

About the Role

• The London Hotel is a bespoke and time limited housing project, with 16 en-suite rooms, delivered by Westminster City Council and The Connection at St Martins. The accommodation is run from a hotel in Paddington, that has a staff office and a key work room.
• The aim of the service is to deliver a wrap-around support offer to entrenched rough sleepers, with multiple unmet needs, and who would otherwise struggle to access accommodation. The expectation put on those moving into the service is that they will be given a period of time to stabilise with health and wellbeing input and will then work towards a longer-term accommodation offer with us.
• The service provides food daily, as well as toiletries and offers other areas of support (aside from health and accommodation move on) around financial inclusion, substance dependency, obtaining ID and navigating criminal justice involvement.
• In this role, you will provide direct support to the residents of the hotel generally, as well as holding a small case load of residents who you will keywork.
• You will work closely with external partners to develop support networks around the residents and will make referrals into the relevant services. Alongside this you might need to accompany people off-site to appointments and coordinate the network around them to meet their needs. You will also need to facilitate external partners accessing the site, so they can provide support to residents.  
• Your focus when working with people will be to support them to develop a move on plan, so they can move from the hotel, into longer term accommodation. This is alongside the day to day running of the service as well as facilitating the maintenance of a trauma informed environment and dynamically responding to people’s needs.
• This is a fixed term role until 31st March 2026

A waking Night Support Worker will help to provided support to the Young People in the service through the night. You will report to the team leader who will supervise your engagement and support of our Young People through the night. The role of Programme Support Officer will provide administrative and coordination support to new What Works Programmes, ensuring the smooth delivery of projects and initiatives.

The role will also oversee the administration of two expert evaluation advisory groups and the evaluation panel that supports the Evidence & Evaluation team to commission and run high quality projects.

Key responsibilities include:

• Assisting with programme and project design, planning, monitoring of progress, liaison with other teams in Youth Futures, including communications, and resolving problems

• Providing administration support to two expert evaluation advisory groups (including setting up contracts, managing communication with the group, scheduling meetings, taking minutes, and managing payments to advisory group members)

• Meeting note taking and minuting and preparation of relevant documentation as required

• Administration support of panels (including setting up contracts, managing communication with the panel, scheduling meetings, allocating tasks, and managing payments to panel members). These panels may cover ethics, peer review, and provision of evaluation projects.

This role can be based at any of our hubs located in Birmingham, Leeds or London. We currently operate a hybrid model of two-days per week in the office and three-days from home.

About the role

Our Hackney Parent Support project is commissioned by Hackney Council, to offer infant feeding support across the region in both community and hospital settings and parenting courses for families throughout the Hackney region. The support is delivered by staff and volunteer peer supporters.

We are seeking a capable Peer Supporter who will support parents at Homerton Hospital and at various community settings in Hackney. This role will mainly be based between Homerton hospital and out in the community (expenses will be reimbursed).

You will be responsible for offering infant feeding support for parents within Homerton Hospital and the community. Some of the key responsibilities of the role include:

• Providing breastfeeding support to families on the wards at Homerton hospital and community settings within Hackney.
• Support in delivering inductions for volunteer peer supporters.
• To report any concerns or additional support needs of women to the NCT management team and/or Infant Feeding Lead for referral onto partner agencies as appropriate. 
• To attend regular supervision/support sessions.
• Having a good working knowledge and understanding of the local demographics in the Hackney area and ensuring all support is accessible and inclusive.
• Ensure that data collection and feedback is collected in a timely manner in an inclusive way.

You must have good communication skills and be able to build relationships and create a rapport with a wide range of people easily. This is a large project and covers multiple locations so you must be able to confidently prioritise your own work, be highly organised and able to work independently.

Being able to make decisions and respond appropriately to our staff, peer supporters and parents and other external stakeholders is essential, alongside good IT skills– including Outlook, Word and Excel – and you must have good attention to detail.
 
It is essential for this post that you undertake the training to become an NCT Breastfeeding Peer Supporter. This requires experience of giving breast milk. The training can be undertaken within your working hours.

The role is 21 hours per week which will be predominantly Monday to Friday within the working day, however, will include occasional evening and weekends. This role is mainly based at Homerton Hospital and at community settings across Hackney.
