Job description

Woodgreen Pets Charity’s vision is a world where all pets are well cared for in loving homes for life. To achieve this, we not only provide care for pets in need, but also help people be the best pet owners they can be.

We are delivering an ambitious fundraising strategy to grow and optimise voluntary net income, public support and awareness of the charity.  To support this and deliver our ambitious Fundraising programme we are looking for an experienced Senior Development Manager to lead our Donor Engagement and Legacy teams on a one-year fixed-term basis for a period of maternity cover. 

Working with internal and external stakeholders, you will lead the teams to implement a successful donor development and engagement strategy to increase the loyalty and value of our supporters.

You will:

  • Work with the Head of Individual Giving to shape the department so it is fit to support and deliver our Fundraising strategy.
  • Report monthly on your team’s activity against key performance indicators
  • Be responsible for developing, implementing and monitoring the Donor Engagement and Legacy budgets.
  • Act as an advocate for innovation to establish future and sustainable income streams to drive lifetime value. 
  • Lead a team of five fundraisers.

You will have a proven track record of delivering successful growth programmes for supporter development, including mid-value donors, and Legacy.In addition you will have experience of leading, motivating and managing high performing teams demonstrating a leadership culture that embraces collaboration, excellence and the importance of individual accountability.

This is a one-year fixed-term maternity cover role, working 37.5 hours per week on a hybrid basis with the expectation that our successful candidate will work from our Godmanchester site approximately 1 - 2 days a month dependant on business need.  The starting salary for this position will be £45,511 - £50,568 depending on experience.  This is complemented by;

  • 36 days annual leave per year (inclusive of bank holidays) rising by 1 day each year to 40 days after five years
  • Up to 8% employer pension contributions
  • Support towards healthcare costs (cashplan)

  • Life assurance (4x salary)
  • 25% discount in our charity shop
