Job Purpose:

This role has two key functions:

• The prime purpose of this role is to provide administrative support to the Head of Governance in driving high standards of charity and company governance across the organisation, including the other entities within the WAGGGS group (60%).
• Second, is supporting the Chief Executive with basic diary management and office project management (40%).

Key Responsibilities:

1. Administrative support for Board and Committee meetings:

• assist in the planning and execution of Board, committee, and entity meetings by:
• Managing the governance calendar, communicating meeting dates and deadlines for papers.
• Coordinating the distribution of agendas and papers.
• Attending meetings as required and preparing clear and accurate minutes.
• Booking meeting rooms and making travel and accommodation arrangements

About the role

We are looking for a values-led, senior People professional to provide maternity cover for the role of our Senior People & Culture Manager. The successful postholder will be responsible for providing high quality generalist People & Culture services at SafeLives, in conjunction with a People & Culture Officer. The role will oversee the smooth running of key HR operations and will be instrumental in building a culture amongst our employees that reflects our values through the provision of excellent People support.

As part of a small, ambitious team you will provide a range of comprehensive, and customer orientated human resources services which support the implementation of SafeLives’ People & Culture strategy. You will be the lead operational HR professional, supported by the Director of People and Culture on strategic matters and a full- time People & Culture Officer on transactional matters, and access to external legal and HR consultancy support when needed. There will be a strong focus on supporting the embedding and development of our culture and behaviours; employee engagement; learning and development, and staff well-being across the organisation.

Hours: Full-time, 37.5 hours per week.

SUMMARY

Community Energy England (CEE) is looking for an experienced experienced operations manager. This is a key role for CEE as we start to implement a new strategy, bring in new funding streams, and explore new ways to meet the needs of our growing membership. You will form part of our small senior leadership team and be an integral support to the Chief Executive. As we are a small organisation, this role will by necessity be a hands-on role too; “doing the doing” will be an important part of enabling you to develop this area of our activity and impact. Part of this will involve working collaboratively across the team and with our members to ensure that we work effectively and strategically.

Community Energy England (CEE) is a membership association for and created by the community energy sector. Our mission is to create the conditions within which community energy is able to thrive and scale.

ABOUT THE ROLE 

The Chief Operating Officer will lead on our ‘Thrive’ outcome: ensuring that CEE is a strong and sustainable organisation that can serve the community energy sector into the future. 

Working closely with our Chief Executive, this role will be responsible for further developing the operational foundations - our systems and procedures - that allow our Heads of Departments to deliver their services with increasing professionalism and impact, and to grow the team to enable us to continue to impactfully support our growing membership. This role will suit someone who would relish the opportunity to lead and shape new ways of working.

As a member of the CEE team, you will be given the opportunity to continue developing your skills and contribution to the organisation and the sector. Community energy has broad and exciting impacts, and this role will provide varied experience and reach.

PRINCIPAL ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES 

• Strategy implementation - developing systems for tracking organisational objectives and delivery, overseeing progress and reporting to the CEO
• Operational oversight - Actively collaborate with the senior leadership team and our Membership & Operations Officer to review and refresh our policies, procedures, and operational systems to ensure they meet the needs of our plans for growth
• ​Governance - working with the CEO and board to ensure good governance and effective risk managemen
• Finance and funding - supporting CEE’s financial management procedures and fiscal activities (working with our external bookkeeper) including budgeting, reporting requirements, and development of new funding sources (working with the senior leadership team)
• HR - (with support from our external HR service and Membership & Operations Officer) updating and implementing staff policies and processes which contribute to staff wellbeing and retention, supporting the senior leadership team to regularly review the range of skills required to deliver CEE’s strategy, identifying mechanisms for ensuring that we have access to the knowledge and skills required, monitoring implementation of policies & processes
• Membership services - oversight of our membership processes, relations, and communications
• People management - line managing our Membership & Operations Officer and Events & Communications Officer, liaising with our external bookkeeper and HR service, supervision of senior leadership team priorities
• Oversight of key projects - this will include ongoing oversight of the website (we have a new website in development), ensuring our events and new projects align with our strategy, and reviewing how CEE functions as a remote working team
• Team working - working collaboratively across the team and with our members to ensure that we work effectively and strategically. This will include working with the Chief Executive to grow the team to enable us to continue to impactfully support our growing membership.

SALARY, BENEFITS AND CONDITIONS

• Location: Working from home with the option to work in our Sheffield co-working space. There will be the need for occasional travel to other parts of the country such as CEE’s base in Sheffield.
• Hours: 35 hours per week. We are open to flexible working requests and many of our team work flexibly. Occasional weekend/evening travel and working (with notice) may be required, for which you’ll get time off in lieu.
• Salary: 46,000 -£52,470 p.a. (dependent upon experience, with scope to increase as the role develops).

The Sales and Membership Officer will deliver vital support to ensure school libraries are at the heart of every school community. This role will play an important part in growing our membership and supporting the development of school libraries and all the benefits they bring, across the UK. We engage with educators across the school community, in order to advocate for effective school libraries and ultimately support the personal, social and academic development of children and young people. 

We need somebody who is confident, a natural, creative salesperson; with sales experience and a flair for persuasion. Duties include:

· Sell membership, services and events recruiting and retaining new members through strategic and innovative partnerships.

· To be a point of contact for our membership, managing queries and supporting members to make the most of the SLA.

· To respond promptly to inquiries from prospective members, members, executive officers, the public and other industry bodies.

· To undertake member market research.

· To maintain and update membership records and marketing databases

The role

The post holder will be responsible for managing Foxglove’s legal team and legal work. You will drive forward a range of cases, including the development of case theories, investigating and collecting evidence, drafting correspondence, evidence and submissions. You will also be responsible for coordinating and managing external legal teams. UK and international travel is required. 

Key responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

Case Development and Management

• Listen to affected communities, unearth issues caused by tech injustice, and come up with innovative legal solutions.
• Build and maintain relationships with impacted community members, unions, other lawyers, experts, co-counsel, intervenors, civil society organisations and the public.
• Draft and comment on technical and legal documents and correspondence.
• Effectively work with the co-Executive Director to implement Foxglove’s legal strategy
• Manage and supervise the legal team.
• Lead evidence gathering.

Compliance and Risk Management 

• Manage court deadlines and time limits where applicable.
• Ensure regulatory compliance in all aspects of your work and our cases.
• Always maintain the strictest standards of client confidentiality. 
• Always maintain the strictest concern for and awareness of data protection and Foxglove policies.
• Keep up to date with the global litigation landscape concerning tech justice.

Other

• Help ensure communities’, workers’ and affected individual’s voices are heard in our campaigns, communications and advocacy work.
• Contribute to social media posts, blogs and op-eds. 
• Speak to the press about Foxglove’s cases as required. 
• Contribute to the development of materials for advocacy purposes including video or audio testimony, photographs etc.
• Other ad hoc tasks as required.

Person Specification

Essential 

• A strong interest in using the law to hold government and companies to account. 
• Qualified lawyer in any jurisdiction with at least senior legal experience. 
• Ability to learn new areas of law quickly and develop new areas of work.
• Demonstrable knowledge in conduct of cases from initial advice through to trial.
• Relevant experience in analysing complex factual and legal situations and helping to advise clients in accordance with their aims.
• Experience in dealing sensitively with clients and experts. 
• Experience in working on complex matters, which require analysis of large amounts of documents and data.
• Excellent communication skills, demonstrated by ability to communicate accurately, clearly and concisely, both verbally and in writing. 
• Excellent time management skills demonstrated by ability to organise and prioritise a complex workload and work to tight deadlines.
• Experience in working and contributing to a team environment.

Length and Salary

The role is permanent. The annual salary is £70,075 per annum less any required deductions for income tax and national insurance. 

Our team works remotely, and this role can be based anywhere. We would prefer you to work within or close to UK office hours, but this is flexible. Our team travels every two months for team days and twice a year for team retreats. This role will include significant UK and international travel.Only candidates with the right to work in their location will be considered.

The Finance Manager will be responsible for developing and strengthening our financial systems at an important time of growth. Pratham is one of the largest and most respected education charities in India. We developed a model that can teach a child to read and do basic maths in as little as 30 days for £14. We also have preschool, vocational and women's education programmes. 

We have strong support from the UK Indian diaspora and are in a period of significant growth, having tripled in size in three years. We expect to raise £1.8m this year and are ambitious to at least triple again. 

While you will work in a small, fully remote team daily, you will be part of the global Pratham network. The team in India has over 6,000 staff, and they raise $28m locally. Pratham USA has 14 chapters and produces around 12 galas annually, contributing to its $30m income. We have recently launched Pratham International, and we will work with them to reach more children worldwide in the years ahead.

This role will be key in sharing Pratham’s impactful work with our supporters. The core of the role is to manage digital content across email, social media, and our website, and play a vital role in supporting fundraising events, particularly our annual gala which will be held at the V&A in November this year and recruiting runners of the London Marathon.

We expect to launch a new website in 2025, a version of the new Pratham USA website that is due to roll out in mid-March. You’ll have an important role in adapting and tailoring it for Pratham UK.

Practical details

Position - Trust and Foundation Fundraising Lead

• You will be implementing the existing workplan for 2025, complemented with your own input into maximising CleanupUK’s revenue from trusts, foundations and The Lottery
• You will be managing the Local/Regional Trust and Foundation Fundraiser to help them maximise their revenue
• In conjunction with the Chief Executive, you will be nurturing the key funder relationships that CleanupUK already has
• You will be developing strong and close relationships with new key trust and foundation funders
• You will be working closely with our Corporate Partnerships and Operations teams
• You will be contributing to CleanupUK’s future strategy

• A passion for dealing with litter and the damage that it causes to communities and also for the wider environment and its protection
• ​Solid, successful experience of trust, foundation, lottery, statutory and major donor fundraising

What can we offer you?

The salary band for this role is £62,000 - £68,000 per annum, dependent on relevant skills and experience.
