Children and young people with SEND struggle to develop relationships, build friendships and connect with their local communities.

This increases their sense of isolation and loneliness that in turn impacts upon their physical and mental health as well as puts pressure on their families who are trying to support them.

To help address this health care need, InterAct provides opportunities for children and young people to get out of the house, meet others, develop social skills, and enjoy physical activities and games whilst also engaging with their local community.

InterAct has recently been funded by the National Lottery Community Foundation to develop two new clubs in Clacton and Colchester for 19-25 year olds living SEND who have little access to support as they transition into adulthood.

We’re looking for for a Lead Youth Worker who believes these young people would benefit from more access to opportunities that help them become less reliant on care services as they grow older. The post holder will be responsibile for the day-to-day planning, co-ordination and delivery of the new club activities and day trips to enhance the life chances, aspirations, social inclusion and emotional, mental health and wellbeing of young people with a range of disabilities and additional needs in Clacton, Colchester and across the Tendring area.

Job description 

We are looking for a Partnerships & Membership Officer to join our dynamic team of 25 staff located across 3 offices (Geneva, London, and New York). The Partnerships and Membership team encompasses 4 staff members, and the Officer will report to NCDA’s Partnerships and Business Development Manager. 

The Partnerships and Membership Officer will support the strategic growth of NCDA’s partnerships and membership in line with NCDA’s new strategy 2021-2026. The role will be responsible for supporting NCDA’s strategic engagement with members and partner NGOs by overseeing the delivery of related work plans and activities, supporting NCDA’s membership outreach strategies and delivery, reporting and M&E processes and business development.

Main duties and responsibilities 

The main responsibilities for the role are: 

• Contribute to NCDA’s partnership and membership growth, by supporting annual plans and activities.

Skills and competencies 
 

Essential:

• 1 year of membership or partnership experience, relevant administrative or professional work experience including one year of project management. 

• Highly organised and detail-oriented, with ability to multi-task and prioritize competing demands to meet team’s deadlines and objectives. 

• Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to work in a multicultural environment and liaise with a diverse array of collaborators, consultants, and stakeholders from across the globe. 

• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written; strong cross-cultural communication and sensitivity skills.

• Demonstrated experience following standard policies and procedures, receiving general instruction and supervision, and contributing to deliverables and initiatives.

The Role

This role will be responsible for delivering high-quality services offered by the Homeless Health Link Service, focusing on engaging homeless clients, including rough sleepers, in a range of primary care, mental health, and substance misuse services. This post is required to undertake high-quality case work and assessments of individuals with complex needs, including challenging mental and physical health needs.

The role will be responsible for processing referrals into the service from a range of sources across the boroughs and act as an entry point into the service and work closely and proactively with local authorities, statutory and non statutory Health and housing services to improve pathways for homeless clients accessing physical and mental health services.

This role will be responsible for the strategic promotion of the services across the boroughs, engaging with a range of supported housing and homelessness service providers to source referrals into the services. The role will also be responsible for the liaison and communication of case management across any providers engaged with the service.

This service is for single homeless people who have slept rough or at risk of sleeping rough across SPEAR’s boroughs of operation.

Rainbow Migration, the longest-running charity in Europe dedicated to supporting LGBTQI+ people through the asylum and immigration system, is recruiting a Legal Officer to advise and help improve the representation of LGBTQI+ people seeking asylum and help change the asylum and immigration system to one that treats everyone with compassion, dignity and respect.

We are looking for a qualified solicitor or barrister with valid practising certificate, or already accredited to Level 3 IAA (OISC), with two years’ experience in providing advice and representation in asylum including working in legal aid.

You will be responsible for the day-to-day delivery of the legal advice service. Under the guidance of our Legal Service Manager, you will also build capacity amongst legal representatives by designing and delivering training, giving second tier advice and developing and coordinating a network of practitioners working in this area. You will use the knowledge you gain in this role to help deliver Rainbow Migration’s policy work, such as inputting into policy papers and meeting with partner organisations when required.

We will also consider applications from people who do not want to do the policy elements of the job, but to instead focus on first and second tier advice. Please mention in your covering letter if you are applying for this option.

This is a unique opportunity to build on your experience as a lawyer to improve representation across the sector and create change in government policy and practice. You will be supported to develop as a specialist lawyer and in your policy skills.

Responsibilities will include:

· Deliver one-off advice to adult LGBTQI+ people seeking asylum and work with colleagues to refer them to quality legal aid and pro bono lawyers

· Provide casework assistance e.g. helping to prepare witness statements, making referrals to other specialist organisations and taking other urgent steps (whilst not representing service users or maintaining a caseload)

· Provide occasional advice (within competence) on other issues affecting asylum and partnership service users such as asylum support, legal aid, trafficking, family reunion or community care

· Deliver second tier advice to the legal representatives of LGBTQI+ people seeking asylum and other charities and professionals

· Work with the Legal Service Manager to design and deliver training to lawyers, NGOs and other professionals

· Write blogs and articles on asylum and immigration policy and legislation as they apply to LGBTQI+ people

· Contribute to policy and briefing papers

· Assist with preparing guidelines and briefings for legal services and pro bono lawyers

The Legal Officer will not be providing direct legal representation of service users. However, the role includes substantive advice and casework within the scope of legal support and referrals for our service users, as well as merits testing and second tier advice.

Contract Type: Permanent.

Hours: Full-time (35 hours per week). Working part-time or job-sharing will be considered. Occasional work in the evenings and at weekends may be required but with plenty of notice. Rainbow Migration encourages staff to maintain a good work life balance and has a TOIL system in place.

Salary: Starting at £40,175, with potential annual step increases up to £44,868 (pro-rata for part-time employees), plus statutory employer’s pension contribution. In addition to an annual step increase, the trustees consider giving a separate inflationary increase every April. 

Location: Remote or from Rainbow Migration’s offices which are based in London between Vauxhall and the Oval. Hybrid working will also be considered. The successful candidate could work from anywhere in the UK but would be expected to occasionally travel to London and other parts of the country for meetings and events. Annual Leave: 25 days per year rising after 24 months by 1 day after each year of service to maximum of 28 days per year (pro rata if working part-time).

Introduction

This new role, funded by the Church Commissioners' 'Buildings for Mission' grant, will provide frontline support to parishes in the Southwark Diocese for capital fundraising to maintain, repair, and conserve church buildings. The aim is to ensure these buildings remain sustainable, open, and available for both worship and diverse community use. The post-holder will offer hands-on support to priority churches, ongoing guidance to around 50 additional churches, and ad hoc advice as needed.

Main Responsibilities

1. To provide specialist advice and – where appropriate –‘hands-on’ assistance to parishes on grants applications and other means of capital fundraising, for maintenance/repair/conservation of church buildings and capital improvement-works projects.
2. To offer encouragement, help and support to parishes in developing strategic financially-achievable approaches to maintenance/repair/conservation and sustainable use of their church buildings, including community engagement and wider uses, as well as energy-efficiency and reducing carbon emissions.

• Support Capital Fundraising: Advise parishes on grants and income generation to maintain and improve church buildings, including achieving Net Zero Carbon goals.
• Parish Assistance: Help parishes with grant applications, financial planning, and income-generating strategies through meetings and ongoing support.
• Grant Management: Administer building and energy-saving grants, ensuring effective allocation and use.
• Training and Guidance: Deliver workshops and provide resources to enhance parish fundraising skills.
• Communication: Share updates on funding opportunities and celebrate parish successes.
• Monitoring and Reporting: Track project outcomes and contribute to diocesan and national evaluations.
   

The Ideal Candidate

• Experience working with building owners, volunteers, and community groups to build capacity.
• Proven ability in grant processing, fundraising bids, and applications.
• Knowledge of maintaining and sustaining historic or community buildings.
• Experience managing project finances, budgets, and cash flows.
• Awareness of legislation for historic buildings and the planning process.
• Ability to interpret technical drawings and building proposals.
