Unlock is an independent, highly respected social inclusion charity. We provide a voice and support for people facing stigma, prejudice and discrimination because of their criminal record, often long after they have served their sentence.
Working at Unlock is more than just a job. We’re a small but ambitious team of passionate and committed people, dedicated to improving the lives of people with criminal records

To help people overcome the long-term disadvantages caused by their criminal records, and work with government, employers and others to enable people to move on positively in their lives.
Our objectives
- People moving on positively in their lives – individuals have the knowledge, skills, confidence and support to overcome the long-term disadvantages caused by their criminal record.
- A fairer and more inclusive society – government, employers and others have policies, practices and attitudes that support fair treatment of people with criminal records.
Equality, diversity and inclusion policy
We are committed to increasing diversity across the organisation, so it's important to use that our baord of trustees includes people with a variety of backgrounds and experiences. That way we can make decisions which reflect the world in which we live and improve outcomes for people with criminal records. We are especially keen to appoint people whoh have themselves met with and overcome the disadvantages of having a criminal record.
