This is an exciting opportunity to join Poppyscotland/RBL to help deliver a new Scotland wide service offering benefits, debt and money advice to Scotland’s Armed Forces community.

As a Benefits Adviser, you’ll provide expert advice and representation to beneficiaries on a wide range of welfare benefit issues. Your role will involve supporting individuals through income maximisation, mandatory reconsiderations, and appeals, including representation at tribunal hearings.

What You’ll Do:

- Provide expert advice on welfare benefits, including entitlements, claims, and complex cases like Student Finance and Armed Forces Pensions.
- Support with overpayments, late claims, and backdating, ensuring beneficiaries understand their rights.
- Advocate for beneficiaries with DWP, SSS, Local Authorities, and HMRC, challenging decisions and securing evidence.
- Prepare and represent cases at First-Tier Tribunals, including overpayments and appeals.
- Assess case strengths, potential outcomes, and legal implications, adapting strategies as needed.
- Stay up to date with legislation, case law, and best practices, ensuring accurate advice and representation.
- Escalate cases when necessary, including Upper Tribunal appeals, judicial reviews, and Ombudsman referrals.

Poppyscotland offers a holistic Benefits & Debt Advice Service, with the expectation that the successful candidate will develop knowledge, skills & experience in debt advice (full training and supervision provided) to be able to support clients in both areas of support.

The role is homebased with occasional travel required throughout Scotland. This includes travel to home visits and tribunal locations. In addition, travel to team meetings and training, usually in Edinburgh, is required. You may also be required to attend national BDMA Service annual events held across the UK. We do cover travel expenses.

Living within Scotland area is essential in being able to undertake this role.
This position is also subject to pre-employment checks including an Enhanced PVG check.

- Proven experience in welfare benefits advice, including entitlements, rates, and calculations.
- Ability to manage a caseload independently, ensuring timely and accurate case administration.

To be successful in this role, you will be a motivated, flexible individual, who is passionate about working with young people around their sexual health. The postholder will conduct outreach, education, and training in several settings depending on the need of different young people. These could be educational settings, youth settings, community events, sports settings, clubs and pubs. You will target vulnerable young people, such as Looked after Children (LAC), those who are Not in Education, Employment, or Training (NEET), those who come from areas of high deprivation and high need, and those with other increased risk factors, as well as young people aged 13-15 who are not yet able to access online services. 

 As part of your frontline work, you will encourage young people to sign up for a C-card, and if aged over 16, register to Get It in order to order condoms and lube from the website. When appropriate, you will refer young people into appropriate local sexual health services for contraception, emergency contraception, pregnancy testing, STI screening and treatment.

Programme

METRO work closely with our partner Spectra to deliver sexual health services in the London Boroughs of Wandsworth, Richmond, Merton and Kingston. In these Boroughs, METRO deliver the Come Correct free condom scheme (C-card), the National Chlamydia Screening Programme (NCSP) as well as Get It, an online scheme which offers condoms, lube, Chlamydia and Gonorrhoea screens.

METRO also delivers training and education, aimed at both young people and professionals working with young people, as well as community outreach and engagement to reach young people directly- particularly those who are most vulnerable to sexual ill health. 

Pregnancy Options Centre (Options) are seeking a Fundraising and Marketing Officer to raise funds for our counselling and education services: supporting people in crisis or distress around unplanned pregnancy or pregnancy loss experiences and educating the next generation on matters surrounding sexual health and healthy relationships. The post-holder will be responsible for raising funds from grants/trusts applications, and for developing and maintaining donor relationships. They will also take the lead on marketing the charity through social media, publicity and our website.

Pregnancy Options Centre provides free, non-directive help and support to anyone facing an unplanned pregnancy or struggling following an abortion or pregnancy loss. We offer a safe, non-judgemental environment where clients can explore their thoughts and feelings surrounding their situation and experiences. Alongside our counselling service, our Education project delivers interactive workshops to young people on topics surrounding healthy sex and relationships, self-esteem and the three options following an unplanned pregnancy: abortion, adoption and parenting.

Fundraising and Marketing Officer Job Description

Key Responsibilities

Fundraising and Finance:

• To carry out and contribute to the fundraising strategy
• Write comprehensive and compelling funding applications to Trusts and Foundations, tailoring them to meet a range of criteria
• To research and develop new funders to support the achievement of fundraising goals

About Sebby’s Corner

Sebby's Corner is based in Barnet, EN5 and our aim is to ensure that no child goes without the basic essentials they need to thrive. We supply items such as clothing, nappies, formula and baby equipment to local families living in poverty. Families in need get referred to us by social workers, health visitors, family support workers, midwives and other professionals. We work with almost 800 different referral partners across 400 different organisations.

We also offer school uniform support and we have a Birthday Club that ensures that a child who would otherwise go without has a gift, cake, balloons and decorations to celebrate their special day. At Christmas, we host a Grotto where parents can come and choose a gift for their child at no cost. We have a new partnership with Citizen’s Advice Barnet that allows families to book an appointment with an advisor at our hub.

In addition to our baby bank services, we work to engage and inspire the community through fundraising, volunteering opportunities, and outreach programmes. At Sebby’s Corner, we believe that a connected community can make a lasting impact, and this role is pivotal to achieving that. Key Tasks and Accountabilities

Volunteer Management

• Oversee the day-to-day management of volunteers, ensuring tasks are clearly defined and their time is used productively.

What we can offer

Salary and pension

The salary for this role is £28,500 annum FTE (this will be pro-rated to reflect your working hours if you work less than 35 hours per week and is subject to normal deductions). If eligible to join the pension, we will match your contributions by 5%.

Annual leave

You will be entitled to 25 days of annual leave plus bank holidays (these will be pro-rated to reflect your working hours if you work less than 35 hours per week). We usually give the team time off between Christmas and New Year that doesn’t come off your allowance.

As Communications and PR Manager we are looking for an experienced and high-achieving individual with exceptional written skills to work closely with our Director of Communications and Fundraising. On 20th August 2011, Flt Lt Jon Egging lost his life whilst completing a display at the Bournemouth Air Festival. He was coming to the end of his first year with the world-famous Royal Air Force Aerobatic Team, the Red Arrows, flying in the position of Red 4.

Believe: Positive Destinations Project Co-ordinator

Would you like to be involved in this new opportunity to support young people in Swansea develop the skills needed for the world of work?

Believe: Positive Destinations is a 12 week work readiness programme for young people aged 16 to 25.  The programme, part funded by the National Lottery Community Fund, has been developed specifically for young people who have little or no experience of the world of work. It is a holistic programme, it will support them to develop workplace skills, build their aspirations, increase self-confidence as well as providing them with strategies to manage their wellbeing. 

As the Project Co-ordinator you will assist the CSM with the development of this new service. This will include building a network of work placement providers and referral sources. You will be the main contact for placement providers and will provide direct support to participants to ensure they are achieving their potential. You will be responsible for delivering the programme to cohorts of up to 8 participants.

What does the job role involve:

• Promotion of the service at networking events and online.
• Establish a network of appropriate placement providers throughout Swansea and be the main contact for placement supervisors for the duration of the placement.
• Establish links with organisations who will be referring into the service, this will include Education, Leaving Care and NEET services.
• Delivery of a 12 week work readiness programme to cohorts of up to 8 participants including the delivery of Agored Cymru accredited units.
• Supporting young people to achieve their development goals.
• Responsibility for gathering and collating relevant data and contribution to report writing as per the request of the service manager and the commissioner of service.
• Tracking service user progress through the use of outcomes scoring over the duration of the programme and after exit, using a young person centred approach.
• Provide advice and guidance to PW1s in manager's absence.
• Standard service operating hours will be 9am to 5pm Monday to Thursday and 9am to 4.30pm Friday, however the role requires some flexibility around hours as we support young people around their needs.

This role is central to driving and expanding our fundraising efforts through the strategic cultivation and stewardship of trusts and foundation relationships. Responsibilities

• Collaborative Strategy Execution: Works closely with the UK Managing Director, incorporating programmatic priorities for developing key funding partnerships, to align and execute the trusts and foundations fundraising strategy.
• Strategic Growth & Income Diversification: Supports the development of and executes a growth strategy to increase trust and foundation income, leveraging both existing and new opportunities, including institutional fundraising and government funding where relevant.
• Prospecting & Pipeline Development: Proactively identifies, researches, and cultivates new trust and foundation prospects to expand the current portfolio and drive significant new revenue growth in alignment with fundraising targets.
• Relationship Management & Stewardship: Establishes, nurtures, and manages strong relationships with trust and foundation donors, ensuring tailored engagement, timely reporting, and strategic alignment with donor priorities to maximize long-term support.
• Proposal & Fund Development: Leads the development and submission of compelling funding proposals to generate revenue, while ensuring collaboration with the global proposal development enablement function for high-value (£100k+) opportunities. Edits concepts, proposals, pitch decks and stewardships materials. 
• Cross-Functional Collaboration: Works closely with WBR’s global Development & Marcomm and proposal development team to source insights, data, and programmatic information that strengthen proposals and enhance donor engagement, ensuring UK efforts align with international fundraising strategies.

Spear Programme

• Lead group sessions of up to 10 young people, using coaching skills to transform their mindsets, and to maximise their potential in stepping into the world of work.
• Prepare and deliver coaching sessions on a weekly basis and find creative ways of developing ongoing relationships with Spear trainees. This includes running application workshops with past trainees as well as maintaining records and reporting on statistics. 

Relationship Management

• Build and manage relationships with a variety of stakeholders, including referrers, local businesses, and other organisations.
• You will support with job fairs, mock interview days and welcoming external visitors to the centre.

Church Community

• The Assistant Coach is directly employed by River Church, though it is not a requirement of the role for the successful candidate to join River Church as their worshipping community if they are already part of another local church
• Help to raise the profile of the Spear programme within River Church and build a network of supporters and volunteers from the congregation.

Speech and Language Therapist 

We are looking for a Speech and Language Therapist (term time + 3 weeks only) to join a team which provides educational support to children and young people, their families, and local schools.

Salary: £51,429 - £58,140 per annum (£48,857 – £55,233 actual/pro-rata) up to £5000 market supplement available depending on experience

The Role

The Speech and Language Therapist at the Education Hub will provide specialist assessment, intervention and support for children and young people affected by the Grenfell Tragedy. The therapist will conduct comprehensive assessments using evidence-based tools, including formal standardised assessments, observational analysis and dynamic assessment approaches to evaluate speech, language and communication needs. 

You will:

• To work on a 1:1 and group basis with children and young people and provide a high level of expertise to develop students’ speech, language and communication skills.

• To give advice, information and support to enable parents/carers and schools to promote the development of speech, language and communication skills.

• To work with families to equip them with the knowledge and skills to create supportive home environments that meet their child’s specific needs.

• Work in close liaison with the Occupational Therapist and the rest of the team to ensure efficient and effective management of children identified with speech, language and communication needs.

• Comprehensively assess children and young people to help identify difficulties in expressive and receptive language, social communication, fluency, and speech sound development, ensuring targeted and effective intervention.

• Produce detailed reports with clear actionable recommendations to inform support plans and guide effective therapeutic and educational strategies, ensuring interventions are tailored to each child’s specific speech, language, and communication needs.

• Develop Speech & Language Therapy training packages, policies, and programmes to parents, carers and professionals.

About You

• UK qualified status and registered with the HCPC (Health and Care Professions Council) with a license to practice.

• Registered member of Royal College of Speech & Language Therapists

• Trained in Hanen, Elklan, Let’s Talk or VERVE Child Interaction (or a willingness to attend training)

About the organisation: 

The Grenfell 'Education Hub' will open later this year to serve those most affected by the Grenfell Tower tragedy. The hub will provide educational support to children and young people, their families, and local schools. 

A consultation process in 2023 and 2024 about the needs of the community and the bereaved and survivors led to proposals for an educational ‘hub’.  This will comprise a wide range of professionals including four specialist teachers, an Educational Psychologist, a Speech and Language Therapist, an Occupational Therapist, a Careers Coordinator, and a Family Support Worker. Job Title: Alumni Relations Officer

Salary: £33,000 - £37,000 per annum

Reports to: Global Programmes and Alumni Engagement Lead

We have a fantastic opportunity for an Alumni Relations Officer to join the Rhodes Trust, Oxford. This role will be a crucial part of the Global Programmes and Alumni Engagement team, working closely with the Global Programmes and Alumni Engagement Lead to deliver a suite of Alumni engagement activities, communications and events. The role includes opportunities for personal development.

The role

This role is varied, providing an opportunity to learn and understand many aspects of the Trust’s work and ecosystem. To be considered for this role you will be required to have proven experience of managing administrative processes for in-person or hybrid events, great interpersonal skills, a passion to learn and understand the community, as well as a good knowledge of online project management tools and CRM systems.

The role will be responsible for:

· Contribute to the Global Programming portfolio, supporting to deliver keystone Alumni events such as reunions, UK and global Alumni events, and supporting constituencies with less activity, ensuring a proactive calendar of Alumni activities

· Support with general administration as requested, particularly regarding the Global Alumni Advisory Board (GAAB) and Lifelong Fellowship and Impact Committee (LFIC) including coordinating meetings, drafting meeting agendas and minutes, printing or sending of presentations, collating of information for reporting, following up on action items and other communication materials as appropriate

· Monitor the Alumni mailbox and ensure a timely reply to all queries and requests directed to them (including connecting Alumni who are looking for other Scholars). Provide appropriate responses to a varied range of enquiries from community members by email, phone, post and in person. Tactfully and diplomatically recognise and quickly resolve any potential issues raised

· Under the guidance of the Global Programmes and Alumni Engagement Lead, lead on key Alumni engagement initiatives as required, for example the annual Meeting Minds Alumni Dinner

· Ensure that all Rhodes Alumni Associations are up to date regarding the activities of the Rhodes Trust and where appropriate and possible, provide Alumni Associations with administrative support for their key events and engagement activities. Manage day-to-day contact and services to the network of Alumni Groups and Alumni Associations

· Together with the Communications team, support with mailings, Rhodes Connect content and social media activity that ensures that Rhodes Alumni are up to date and engaged in the activities of the Rhodes Community

· Role modelling the Trust’s organisational values of commitment, inclusion, belonging, growth and innovation.

· Carrying out any other duties relevant to the role, as requested.

Essential skills, experience and qualifications:

· Experience in event planning and delivery, both in-person and online and/or hybrid

· Proven experience with Microsoft packages (Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook), and online event platforms (e.g. Zoom)

· Excellent administrative skills with an ability to prioritise work and meet tight deadlines

· Ability to build strong working relationship with immediate colleagues, as well as with external stakeholders
