Job Summary

This role is an expansion of our employment pathway and will be our first dedicated employment coach for our students.

PiP has developed a unique reputation for our experience and quality of employment support for adults with learning disabilities. This has led to an increased number of referrals with a focus on employment, an expansion of our in-house social enterprise capacity, and more employers keen to work alongside us to diversify their staff base.

PiP is keen to respond to and meet this demand. This role for us is the next step in doing so, allowing us to increase our job coaching capacity and providing more dedicated resource for students on their employment journey. As to date our coaching has been delivered across our existing staff team.

• Working with people with learning disabilities, or a similar client group

What We Offer:

· The salary for this role is circa £29,500 dependent on experience with incremental pay progression.

You'll get 25 days holiday + bank holidays ever year. We're closed for Christmas but the rest of the year you may take leave whenever you wish. 

· An extra day of annual leave for each year you've worked with us up to another 5 (30 in total)

· We offer a travel subsidy of up to £7.50 per day to help with the cost of commuting.

Job Description

Working as a qualified Teacher within a Study Programme contract, you will deliver Functional Skills maths and English qualifications.

This will be from all Entry levels up to and including level 2, within our college site for students aged 16-18 years.

Main duties include:

• To lead on the production of schemes of work for the service delivery
• To prepare and develop innovative lesson plans, design and deliver group activities
• Deliver training to individual young people and groups following the programme curriculum, setting objectives and targets for achievement
• To diagnose learners literacy, numeracy and ICT needs and requirements by using various teaching aids
• To liaise with relevant team members to ensure learners achieve their targets and progress into appropriate outcomes
• To provide appropriate encouragement, guidance and support to learners to help them progress
• To appropriately manage any behaviour issues that arise

Over the past few years, Families in Grief (FiG) has grown significantly to meet the needs of our North Devon and Torridge community. We have just completed a piece of work to expand our reach, enhance our accessibility to healthcare professionals and schools, and broaden our range of services to better support children, young people and families who have been bereaved. The Student Advisor is a key role within the UWLSU’s Advice and Wellbeing team. The Student Advisor will deliver case-based advice and advocacy interventions to hundreds of students each year to an excellent standard. The post holder will work to ensure that our students are supported through academic regulatory processes such as mitigating circumstances, academic appeals, complaints and disciplinary processes at UWL. They will provide independent, non-judgmental and accessible advice to students that will empower them to make informed choices about their case. An understanding of external support networks is also advantageous, as our Advisors are expected to identify and provide signposting guidance to students that will help them access suitable support outside of the SU and University. We also pride ourselves on our partnership work with the University of West London and as such the postholder will be expected to demonstrate commitment to working in partnership with key stakeholders in the student experience at UWL.

Key Responsibilities

To work closely with the Evidence & Advocacy Manager (EAM) to develop and implement a series of impactful evidence and research projects that support our advocacy messaging, as well as internal and external learning for inclusive programmes and advisory work. These projects will build on established workstreams alongside developing new ones to maintain and extend CBM UK’s evidence base.

Disability Evidence, Policy Research and Learning

With EAM support the ongoing CBM UK Research and Evidence workstream, through:

1. Translating evidence from our programming countries and projects to produce and contribute to a range of resources to influence FCDO and other stakeholders. Tasks to include managing and maintaining established outputs, such as the CBM UK Project Evidence Briefs and Disability Voices paper series, generating new thematic papers, as well as policy and position papers to enhance effective advocacy submissions, briefing notes, blogs and other messaging on key disability rights issues.

2. Working collaboratively within CBM UK and across CBM Global to help develop and to deliver new policy research, drawing on mixed methods and data sources including national and international databases, using qualitative approaches including participatory or citizen generated data, and new empirical work.

3. Supporting Programme staff to improve impact and learning practice in CBM UK funded projects, provide technical support for the implementation of programme related research and data collection, including MEAL.

4. Providing technical research support into the development of proposals for new grant funded projects, and, where successful, support the management of subsequent research projects.

5. Keeping abreast of new research and publications on key themes and priority concerns within the CBM UK Advocacy and Influencing Strategy, taking into consideration sector trends and developments, and ensure this is disseminated to relevant staff within the CBM UK Team.

6. Keeping watch on UK policy environment and conducting research and analysis to support CBM UK advocacy messaging on disability and human rights.

Dissemination and Communications

1. Maintaining and developing internal knowledge management systems for research and information on disability inclusion and rights, and related areas, to be used by Advocacy, Programmes and Fundraising & Communications teams.

2. Ensuring communication plans are developed with CBM UK and Global Federation colleagues for CBM UK evidence outputs.

3. Maintaining the Advocacy and Influencing pages of the CBM UK website ensuring rights-based communication and focus to support CBM UK and Global campaigns.

4. Liaison with Fundraising & Communications colleagues to amplify media stories, case studies and compelling evidence from country programming for advocacy purposes.

5. Participation in and building good relationships with UK-based disability and development networks, including relevant research networks and membership of the BOND Disability and Development Group.

6. Supporting the professional publication and printing of CBM UK outputs, for dissemination at advocacy engagements and public events.

Other

1. Work with other CBM UK teams to maximise cross fertilisation opportunities and integrated working.

2. Help develop a culture of enthusiasm and success, reflecting the ambitions of CBM. Play an active role across CBM, promoting positive working and innovation. Ensure that the values of CBM UK are understood by external partners and always reflected in communications.

Emmaus Bristol is a local homelessness charity and part of the international movement of Emmaus communities.

We are looking for a Fundraising Manager to lead on our fundraising by developing and implementing a strategy to secure core funding, as well as working with other managers to secure project funding. You will need to be innovative and determined as well as being an excellent communicator. This is a new role and it will really suit someone who is a confident self-starter with an eye for detail.

We are seeking to appoint a highly motivated Christian who will have the responsibility for ensuring that the trust and property needs of the Congregational Federation (CF) and Congregational Federation Ltd are met to a high standard and in line with the ethos of Congregationalism.

If successful, you will offer advice to member churches and manage all properties held.  You will work as part of a team of staff and volunteers of the Congregational Federation to advance its work and aims.

We expect the candidate to have a proven track record in successful property management and experience of working with legal and charity trusts, significant experience in managing budgets and evidence of strong self-motivation supported by highly effective communication, negotiation and data management skills.

There is a genuine occupational requirement that the post holder is a Christian.

The Children's Society has been helping children and young people in this country for over 140 years. We run local services that support children when they are at their most vulnerable and in desperate need of help. We're there for children, every step of the way.

This role sits within our Youth Impact Domain, which works to provide immediate one-to-one and group support for children who urgently need support. Your role will be to help us maintain and develop innovative practice to support our work in our services around the country.

We are currently looking for an individual with significant experience of working within Advocacy and Independent Visitor service to lead our dynamic, ambitious team.

A key part of this role will be your ability to:

-To provide service leadership and management for the Cheshire Children's Right service as set out in contracts and service specifications, ensuring the delivery of high quality and a safe service.

-To supervise, empower and manage the performance of staff to deliver the best they can for young people referred to the Cheshire Children's Rights service

-To oversee budgets for the Cheshire Children's Rights service and complete financial and operational monitoring reports

-To maintain and develop effective working relationships with partner agencies in Cheshire to support the protection of young people from harm

-To work with partners, both operational and strategic, adopting a multi-disciplinary approach in response to children who require advocacy and an IV

In order to be successful in this role, you must have:

-Working knowledge and understanding of legislation as it relates to Children's Rights, Children in Care, Care Leavers, Child in Need, and Complaint processes.

-Substantial experience of undertaking assessments of need and risk and planning interventions.

-Significant experience of multi-agency working.

-Experience of managing and supervising staff, students and volunteers. Including supervision and management processes.

About Us

Headway East London is a charity supporting people living with brain injury. Working across 13 London boroughs we offer specialist support and services for survivors and their families. We offer therapies, advocacy, family support and community support work alongside our day service: a community venue where people can make the most of their abilities and interests.

About the role

The Casework Service main aim is to ensure that survivors and families have access to the benefits and support they are entitled to. This means working directly with local authorities and statutory organisations, or signposting to relevant partners.

Through our Better Together project at the Royal London Hospital and Queens Hospital Romford we offer early intervention inside the hospital, so that brain injury survivors and their family can access information, emotional support and assistance.

As a Caseworker you will be working closely with people with acquired brain injuries through our Better Together project, in support groups and in one-to-one casework appointments. You will be providing advice, advocacy, support and signposting.

Principle duties and responsibilities

1. Support people with lived experience of brain injury, families and carers through Casework projects and support groups. This could be in accessing the right benefits, housing issues or gaining the right care moving forward.

2. Take part in our Better Together project at the Royal London Hospital and Queens Hospital Romford. We visit each hospital weekly.

3. Make appropriate referrals to Headway East London services, and other relevant professionals/services.

4. Contribute to events for professionals engaged in working with people with lived experience of brain injury, highlighting the needs of our members and the work we do.

5. Help run our Saturday Social (once a month) which provides a safe setting for members to be part of a community space.

6. Monitor and document on all work undertaken and update our database constantly and efficiently.
