About the Role
To design and implement Agenda Alliance’s fundraising approach that will generate income and develop diverse income streams. Manage funder relationships and lead our work with trusts and foundations and our philanthropy programme, as well as potential corporate partnerships and events.

About You
- Skilled at identifying new funding opportunities from trusts, individuals and corporates etc.
- A natural relationship manager, who can build relationships with internal and external stakeholders to secure funds, buy in, and gather key information.
- Excellent written communication skills - able to translate complicated policy into accessible content, to write compelling funding proposals, write engaging communications for newsletter as well as writing reports for the board.
- Excellent verbal communication skills, including presenting and engaging with internal and external stakeholders.
- Knowledge of the fundraising landscape in the UK.
- Database management skills, including data insight led fundraising, knowledge of GDPR and charity law as applied to fundraising.
- Strong events management and administration skills, time management and problem-solving skills.
- A collaborative, adaptable and detail-oriented approach.
- Effective working as part of a team and with managing the on-time delivery of tasks from various colleagues.

We are looking for somebody who can bring with them:
- Experience of research and prospecting – ideally with the knowledge of which individuals, Trusts and corporates to approach and the best ways to engage them.
- A solid understanding of how to pitch, make a case for support and package-up our existing reports and content.
- Knowledge of which events to attend and opportunities to exploit, in order to build a supporter base, raise awareness and engage prospects.
- A collaborative approach to fundraising, with experience of working with team members to gather the information and assets needed to fundraise, as well as to bring the team and trustees on a journey with them.

About this role
We are looking for an engaging and dynamic fundraising specialist and team player with a proven track record of income generation, to take on this exciting new role at this exciting point of our organisational growth.
Across the last two years, EduSpots has significantly grown its income, and significantly advanced the quality, scope and reach of its operations in Ghana, with further plans for expansion in the years ahead. We are looking for an individual that understands the value of community-led change, with all our work centred on, and resulting from the actions of 400 locally-based educational Catalysts.
Reporting directly to the CEO, you will take on the responsibility for growing our income generation from trusts and foundations, as well as building a strong network of partnerships with schools, corporates and individuals who will contribute effectively to our overall annual income targets. We are looking for an experienced individual, who is able to work with the CEO to develop larger fundraising partnerships at this point in our development.
You will oversee a small part-time fundraising team, comprising a Fundraising Manager, Trusts and Foundations Manager, and Communications Manager, alongside interns and other income-generation roles that may emerge.

Main Duties and Responsibilities
The key responsibilities of this role are to:
Team management

Manage the Trusts and Foundations Manager (part-time, 1 day a week), the Fundraising Manager (2 days/week), and the Communications Manager (full-time), alongside other income-generation roles that emerge, ensuring strategic input into their work, and support of their professional development and well-being.

Trusts and Foundations

Community fundraising, events and individual giving

Work with the Fundraising Manager to build further relationships in support of our work through strategic input into campaigns, events, school partnerships, the Elmina-based EduSpots Experience and the redevelopment of our online courses.

To oversee the creation and strategic direction of the EduChamps Community, and the effective use of our newsletter.

Corporate partnerships

Identify, develop and promote sponsorship opportunities that are attractive to corporate partners and that achieve income generation for specific projects and programmes.

Skills, Experience and Attributes
Essential

Proven track record of income generation - ideally in a similar education / international development organisation.

Experience with fundraising bids, grants and/or corporate partnerships ranging from at least 5 to 6 figures (GBP) in size.

The Senior Programme Fundraising Manager will play a central role in helping lead the charity’s work with their Institutional donors, such as the FCDO, USAID, Asian Development Bank and World Bank. The successful candidate will lead on strategy development, scoping and co-creation of new innovative and strategic partnerships, bid development and grant and relationship management. This role would suit a new-business focused fundraiser keen to be at the cutting edge of international development programmes and funding – key duties include:
- New Business Development: Developing high value, multi-year growth pipelines for new partnerships with institutional donors, leading on the bid development cycle and working with internal and external stakeholders to scope out new partnerships.
- Grant & Relationship Management: Maintaining and developing a portfolio of institutional grants and relationships to grow BAT’s programmes in South Asia, developing partnership models & engagement strategies to meet specific interests & priorities of different institutional donors.
- Strategy Development: Support the development of BAT’s institutional funding strategy, including refining business development processes, keeping up to date with market insights and trends within institutional funding and effectively tracking the performance of all resource mobilisation efforts.
We’re looking for the following skills and experience for this role:
- Business Development Pipelines: Significant experience of managing an institutional (government/multi-lateral/bilateral) funding opportunity pipeline, generation of new leads, and conversion of leads to funding.
- Knowledge of Institutional Donors: Significant knowledge of Overseas Development Aid (ODA) and relevant donors (e.g. FCDO, USAID, World Bank), their priorities and giving mechanisms.
- Strategy Development Experience: Proven track record of contributing to the development of organisational fundraising strategies, with creative approach to applying fundraising objectives to the Overseas Development Aid sector.

Sitting within the Supporter Led Fundraising (SLF) department, the Regional Fundraising Team at Alzheimer’s Research UK (ARUK) is responsible for recruiting, stewarding and motivating individuals, companies and community groups to raise £3m per year.
The team consists of 12 home based Regional Fundraising Officers (RFO’s). As one of three Community Fundraising Managers (CFM) you will be responsible for the line management of approx. 4-5 members of the team alongside the management of one of our income streams – either Regional Corporate, Community Groups or DIY.
Reporting into the Head of Regional Fundraising, you will work closely with senior stakeholders within ARUK and be required to play a key role in the implementation of the ARUK 10-year strategy and supporting on the development of the fundraising strategy.
You will work closely with the other CFMs and the SLF Managers Group to ensure consistency with supporter stewardship, manage budgets and support in financial planning, review team capacity and identify and manage priorities throughout the year, ensuring efficiency and a first-class supporter experience. Your overall goal will be helping drive our ambitious organisation growth and ultimately helping us find a cure.
Due to the nature of this role, we will require you to attend our Granta Park office, near Cambridge, one day per week, plus travel to meet the team and attend external meetings/events.
This is a 12-month fixed term contract to cover a period of maternity leave.
Main duties and responsibilities of the role:
Line Management
· Line management of the high performing remote Regional Fundraising Officers; inspiring and driving their success to ensure they remain highly motivated in their roles, achieve their targets and play a key part in the performance of the wider team. As well as 1-1’s and personal growth reviews.
· You will monitor, review, and empower direct reports to ensure effective communication across the wider team and with key stakeholders e.g. Volunteering, Corporate Team, Sporting Events Team, Gifts in Wills Team, Supporter Care Team, Supporter Engagement Team and others.
· Alongside the other CFMs you will be responsible for planning and delivering in person team meetings approx. 5 times per year – these are key meetings to bring the team together and share plans and ideas in addition to ensuring that the remote based team are meeting with and hearing from key internal teams.
Income streams
You will be responsible for one of the following:
· DIY Income Stream Ownership - Writing and delivering the strategy for the current income stream and bringing in ambitious growth to £2.5m over the next year.
· Community Groups Income Stream - Writing and delivering the strategy for the income stream and identifying areas of growth
· Regional Corporate Income Stream - Writing and delivering the strategy for the Regional Corporate income stream and identifying areas of growth
Monitoring and Reporting
· An immediate responsibility for this role is the implementation of the new CRM database (Salesforce). You will need to dedicate time to understating and supporting the implementation, ensuring that it works for the team and that the team are utilising it according to business process and its implementation allows for maximum benefit to the team and all areas of fundraising
· Manage the team’s income and expenditure budget, including monthly reporting, and supporting with monthly reforecasts, and annual budget and operational plan setting.
· Review supporter numbers and income against DIY targets to track impact, ROI and cost income ratio and report back regularly.
· Ensure the fundraising CRM is being used effectively to facilitate accurate supporter stewardship and financial reporting, data segmentation and analysis.
· Use data insights and trends to support the team in budgeting, forecasting and mitigation plans.
· Lead on the build, development and use of Power BI Reporting across DIY and other income streams.
· Continue to review and be willing to change team processes and contribute to wider organisational process changes where necessary.
Relationship Management
· Build and maintain excellent working relationships with agencies, platform providers and event delivery companies to identify new opportunities and ensure all avenues are being optimised for ARUK.
· Work with the Sporting Events Managers to create a process to identify and steward high-value event participants to add value to their fundraising and ensure we are spotting opportunities beyond their current event.
· Work closely with the Marketing & Engagement Team to brief in marketing requirements, share trends, learnings, and results to optimise future activities.
· Work closely with managers from SLF Departments to support on the strategic direction of ARUK, prioritise work and any conflicts across teams, as well as deliver any tactical projects, new processes and ways of working.
Strategy & Operational Planning
· Work in consultation with the Head of Regional Fundraising to develop the regional fundraising strategy and annual tactical plan for ARUK to continue to build income growth in line with organisational objectives.
· Stay abreast of sector activity and actively participate in sector wide forums.
Stewardship and Supporter experience
· Plan and deliver an excellent communications journey for DIY participants and regional supporters including exploring new technologies and how we can talk to our supporters in the way most effective and relevant to them - whether that be email, phone, face to face, through social channels. Whilst also ensuring it aligns with wider stewardship goals and future cross-sell asks.
· Work with the wider SLF team to share best practice, ‘surprise and delight’ success and re-engagement activity to help drive long-term loyalty.
· Work with Philanthropy and Direct Marketing Teams to build on the Mid Value Donor programme.
· Work alongside Data and Insights Teams to understand the potential lifetime value of our supporters and ensure opportunities are developed for supporters to hold a long-term fundraising relationship with ARUK.
What we are looking for:
· Line Management experience.
· Great knowledge and passion for building excellent supporter relationships and ensuring supporters feel valued and thanked appropriately.
· Good experience and knowledge of digital marketing strategies with a focus on supporter acquisition.

Stewardship

- Keep all relevant donor contact history and financial information up-to-date on Salesforce, ensuring adherence to GDPR and other relevant good practice.

Our mission is to support schools in becoming community anchor organisations— place-based hubs that bring people together and drive positive change on a neighbourhood level. Over the past three years, we’ve been developing and growing this impactful work, creating 26 community hubs that are already transforming neighbourhoods and building stronger connections between schools and their wider communities.

The Role:
As the Fundraising Lead, you will:
· Implement and develop our national fundraising strategy to support community hubs and broader organisational goals.
· Support local fundraising efforts by providing expert advice, developing pipelines, and aiding in bid writing.
· Prepare compelling funding proposals to secure grants and donations aligned with our mission and objectives.
· Build and manage donor relationships, ensuring excellent stewardship and impactful communication.
· Monitor and report on fundraising activities, aligning progress with financial goals.
· Stay informed on philanthropic trends and incorporate innovative approaches into our fundraising strategies.
About You:
We’re seeking a dynamic individual with:
· Proven experience in philanthropy and fundraising, particularly with trusts and foundations.
· Success in developing and implementing fundraising strategies, especially for core costs.
· Strong bid writing and proposal development skills.
· A strategic mindset with the ability to establish funding pipelines and partnerships.
· Excellent communication, negotiation, and relationship management skills.
· Knowledge of the UK’s fundraising landscape and philanthropic trends.
· An entrepreneurial spirit, with innovative ideas to enhance our approach.

Central Office staff work closely with schools, offering a wealth of expertise to underpin schools' own knowledge. Our specialist departments, including HR, finance, technology, strategy and performance, estates, and marketing, work alongside dedicated school improvement teams.
