We are working in partnership with the Maritime Volunteer Service (MVS) who are seeking a Fundraising Manager to manage their income generation via fundraising. The role will focus on enabling the growth and advancement of their mission in line with their strategic plan, whilst increasing opportunities for the development of new and existing projects.

MVS is a recognised national maritime training organisation, and a UK registered charity with more than 20 units around the country providing training to nationally and internationally recognised standards, serving local communities especially in times of need or emergency and taking part in resilience exercises ashore and afloat.

In this newly created post, the Fundraising Manager will lead on fundraising strategy and activity and will identify and develop a range of relevant income streams and opportunities to meet income targets, including trust and grants, corporate partnerships and legacy fundraising. Building on existing networks to develop strong relationships with members, key donors and sponsors, you will be able to analyse activity, providing accurate reporting on fundraising targets and income, whilst ensuring compliance and implementing best practice with respect to fundraising.

You will:

• Have fundraising experience with demonstrable management of a diverse range of income streams such as corporate fundraising, trusts and foundations, legacies, major donors and individual giving.
• Be results-driven with proven success of writing and delivering fundraising proposals, and meeting income targets.
• Be highly numerate and confident in handling financial data, and the ability to assimilate complex information.
• Demonstrate a good working knowledge of legal, regulatory and best practice guidelines around fundraising including Gift Aid, GDPR and the Fundraising Regulator’s Code of Practice.
• Have effective marketing capability including website, content, press and social media, with knowledge of digital marketing tools e.g. CANVA / Mailchimp.

We are seeking a strong generalist fundraiser, with exceptional interpersonal and communications skills (both written and oral). You will be able to develop, manage and maintain relationships with a range of stakeholders and be self-motivated. 4. Donor Journey Optimisation

• Review and refresh the existing donor journey for major donors
• Enhance the regular giver donor journey with strategies to encourage increased giving

5. Trustee Network Engagement

• Create a plan for trustees to actively support cultivation efforts for major donors, volunteer donors, and new donor groups

6. Team Management and Leadership

• Lead and support the Corporate Fundraising Manager and Finance Assistant, setting clear objectives and providing professional development opportunities.
• Foster a collaborative and results-driven team culture.
• Oversee income targets and monitor fundraising progress across key areas.

7. Reporting and Evaluation

• Regularly evaluate and report on the effectiveness of fundraising strategies.

About this role

We are looking for an engaging and dynamic fundraising specialist and team player with a proven track record of income generation, to take on this exciting new role at this exciting point of our organisational growth. 

Across the last two years, EduSpots has significantly grown its income, and significantly advanced the quality, scope and reach of its operations in Ghana, with further plans for expansion in the years ahead. We are looking for an individual that understands the value of community-led change, with all our work centred on, and resulting from the actions of 400 locally-based educational Catalysts. 

Reporting directly to the CEO, you will take on the responsibility for growing our income generation from trusts and foundations, as well as building a strong network of partnerships with schools, corporates and individuals who will contribute effectively to our overall annual income targets. We are looking for an experienced individual, who is able to work with the CEO to develop larger fundraising partnerships at this point in our development. 

You will oversee a small part-time fundraising team, comprising a Fundraising Manager, Trusts and Foundations Manager, and Communications Manager, alongside interns and other income-generation roles that may emerge.

Main Duties and Responsibilities 

The key responsibilities of this role are to:

Team management 

• Manage the Trusts and Foundations Manager (part-time, 1 day a week), the Fundraising Manager (2 days/week), and the Communications Manager (full-time), alongside other income-generation roles that emerge, ensuring strategic input into their work, and support of their professional development and well-being. 

• Oversee the effective use of interns to support our fundraising and wider communications work. 

Trusts and Foundations

• Support the Trusts and Foundations Manager to continue to build relationships with small and medium trusts and foundations. 

• Oversee our grants database to track and monitor applications, outcomes, reporting requirements etc.

• Develop relationships with new larger grant-makers and prepare information including requirements for application and deadlines. 

• Work with the UK and Ghana team to identify projects, programmes and areas of work suitable for grant funding.

• Develop funding proposals and applications, working with the CEO and liaising with the delivery team to ensure accurate information. 

• Support the Trusts and Foundations Manager to compile reporting data that meets the requirements and deadlines of the funder.

Community fundraising, events and individual giving 

• Work with the Fundraising Manager to build further relationships in support of our work through strategic input into campaigns, events, school partnerships, the Elmina-based EduSpots Experience and the redevelopment of our online courses. 

• Work with the CEO to oversee the fundraising strategy related to our 10th anniversary year in 2025. 

• To oversee the creation and strategic direction of the EduChamps Community, and the effective use of our newsletter. 

• To build on our individual giving strategy (“EduChamps Club”), through our 10th anniversary activities. 

• Work with the Fundraising Manager and Interns to research further groups, individuals and organisations who may have an interest in our work. 

• Work with the Fundraising Manager to further develop our relationships database of donors and sponsors, ensuring information is accurately recorded and tracked.

Corporate partnerships 

• Identify, develop and promote sponsorship opportunities that are attractive to corporate partners and that achieve income generation for specific projects and programmes.

Other:

• To contribute to the Charity’s fundraising and other strategies, as well as supporting the development of the annual business plan and budget, and assisting with the preparation of Annual Report.

Skills, Experience and Attributes

Essential

• Proven track record of income generation - ideally in a similar education / international development organisation.

• Experience with fundraising bids, grants and/or corporate partnerships ranging from at least 5 to 6 figures (GBP) in size. 

• Experience of establishing and managing effective relationships with trusts, foundations and grant-makers 

• Strong knowledge of a wide range of UK-based funders, as well as of some international (European / US based) funders.

• Some experience of communications and marketing in an NGO context.

• Experience of developing and maintaining successful income generating partnerships ideally with corporates and / or schools.

• Experience of overseeing individual giving campaigns and digital marketing for fundraising.

The British Asian Trust (BAT) is one of the most exciting and innovative charities in the country, maximising the support of the South Asian diaspora to drive positive change across India, Pakistan, Bangladesh and Sri Lanka. The Senior Programme Fundraising Manager will play a central role in helping lead the charity’s work with their Institutional donors, such as the FCDO, USAID, Asian Development Bank and World Bank. The successful candidate will lead on strategy development, scoping and co-creation of new innovative and strategic partnerships, bid development and grant and relationship management. This role would suit a new-business focused fundraiser keen to be at the cutting edge of international development programmes and funding – key duties include:

• New Business Development: Developing high value, multi-year growth pipelines for new partnerships with institutional donors, leading on the bid development cycle and working with internal and external stakeholders to scope out new partnerships.
• Grant & Relationship Management: Maintaining and developing a portfolio of institutional grants and relationships to grow BAT’s programmes in South Asia, developing partnership models & engagement strategies to meet specific interests & priorities of different institutional donors.
• Strategy Development: Support the development of BAT’s institutional funding strategy, including refining business development processes, keeping up to date with market insights and trends within institutional funding and effectively tracking the performance of all resource mobilisation efforts.

We’re looking for the following skills and experience for this role:

• Business Development Pipelines: Significant experience of managing an institutional (government/multi-lateral/bilateral) funding opportunity pipeline, generation of new leads, and conversion of leads to funding.
• Knowledge of Institutional Donors: Significant knowledge of Overseas Development Aid (ODA) and relevant donors (e.g. FCDO, USAID, World Bank), their priorities and giving mechanisms.
• Strategy Development Experience: Proven track record of contributing to the development of organisational fundraising strategies, with creative approach to applying fundraising objectives to the Overseas Development Aid sector.
• Securing High-Value Bids: Proven track record of writing and project managing successful high value and complex bids and proposals of 6 and 7+ figures, working with multiple stakeholders across diverse locations.

Sitting within the Supporter Led Fundraising (SLF) department, the Regional Fundraising Team at Alzheimer’s Research UK (ARUK) is responsible for recruiting, stewarding and motivating individuals, companies and community groups to raise £3m per year. 

The team consists of 12 home based Regional Fundraising Officers (RFO’s). As one of three Community Fundraising Managers (CFM) you will be responsible for the line management of approx. 4-5 members of the team alongside the management of one of our income streams – either Regional Corporate, Community Groups or DIY.

Reporting into the Head of Regional Fundraising, you will work closely with senior stakeholders within ARUK and be required to play a key role in the implementation of the ARUK 10-year strategy and supporting on the development of the fundraising strategy.

You will work closely with the other CFMs and the SLF Managers Group to ensure consistency with supporter stewardship, manage budgets and support in financial planning, review team capacity and identify and manage priorities throughout the year, ensuring efficiency and a first-class supporter experience. Your overall goal will be helping drive our ambitious organisation growth and ultimately helping us find a cure.

Due to the nature of this role, we will require you to attend our Granta Park office, near Cambridge, one day per week, plus travel to meet the team and attend external meetings/events.

This is a 12-month fixed term contract to cover a period of maternity leave.

Main duties and responsibilities of the role:

Line Management

· Line management of the high performing remote Regional Fundraising Officers; inspiring and driving their success to ensure they remain highly motivated in their roles, achieve their targets and play a key part in the performance of the wider team. As well as 1-1’s and personal growth reviews.

· You will monitor, review, and empower direct reports to ensure effective communication across the wider team and with key stakeholders e.g. Volunteering, Corporate Team, Sporting Events Team, Gifts in Wills Team, Supporter Care Team, Supporter Engagement Team and others.

· Alongside the other CFMs you will be responsible for planning and delivering in person team meetings approx. 5 times per year – these are key meetings to bring the team together and share plans and ideas in addition to ensuring that the remote based team are meeting with and hearing from key internal teams.

Income streams

You will be responsible for one of the following:

· DIY Income Stream Ownership - Writing and delivering the strategy for the current income stream and bringing in ambitious growth to £2.5m over the next year.

· Community Groups Income Stream - Writing and delivering the strategy for the income stream and identifying areas of growth

· Regional Corporate Income Stream - Writing and delivering the strategy for the Regional Corporate income stream and identifying areas of growth

· An immediate responsibility for this role is the implementation of the new CRM database (Salesforce). You will need to dedicate time to understating and supporting the implementation, ensuring that it works for the team and that the team are utilising it according to business process and its implementation allows for maximum benefit to the team and all areas of fundraising

Stewardship and Supporter experience

· Plan and deliver an excellent communications journey for DIY participants and regional supporters including exploring new technologies and how we can talk to our supporters in the way most effective and relevant to them - whether that be email, phone, face to face, through social channels. Whilst also ensuring it aligns with wider stewardship goals and future cross-sell asks.

· Work with the wider SLF team to share best practice, ‘surprise and delight’ success and re-engagement activity to help drive long-term loyalty.

· Work with Philanthropy and Direct Marketing Teams to build on the Mid Value Donor programme. 

· Work alongside Data and Insights Teams to understand the potential lifetime value of our supporters and ensure opportunities are developed for supporters to hold a long-term fundraising relationship with ARUK.

We are looking for an outstanding Fundraising Lead to play a key role in developing and implementing our first formal fundraising strategy. About the role

We are looking for a passionate and skilled Trusts & Foundations specialist to expand EngineeringUK’s relationships in this field and develop grant-funding as a core income stream for our work. We receive significant funding from grant funders already but are looking to scale this income stream. This gives the successful candidate the opportunity to have an early impact and have influence over the direction of our strategy for grant-funding.

Whilst this is currently the sole role focusing on this area, you would be supported by the Director of Business Development & Partnerships and the Chief Executive, both of whom have experience in this type of fundraising. Senior level engagement and support means we can be flexible to the level of experience of the successful candidate, making this role a great opportunity for an experienced Manager wanting to take ownership of a strategy, or for a Specialist looking to take their next step and develop their strategic skills.

The Trusts & Foundations Manager role will be part of the Business & Industry team (11 people), who have responsibility for all funding and industry relationships across EngineeringUK. The team works strategically with stakeholders across the engineering, technology and education sectors, to support our mission to increase the number and diversity of young people choosing engineering and technology careers. Opportunities for funding include our bursary programme, in-school programmes such as EnergyQuest and Climate Schools, Big Bang Programme, supporting our community of Code signatories, and developing new programmes.

Once funding is secured, the postholder will account manage the relationship and see the project through to contract-end. Therefore, in addition to being able to secure new funding, interest in and experience of delivering excellent account management is essential.

THE ROLE
