Healthwatch Barnet is about local voices being able to influence the delivery and design of their services, not just for the people who use them, but anyone who might need to use them in future.
Healthwatch Barnet transferred to Inclusion Barnet on 1st April 2020. It is commissioned by the London Borough of Barnet to provide the following 6 key functions:

About the Role
This is a key role to support our Operations Co-ordinator with accounting and financial administration of the charity.
Responsibilities
- Managing and recording all financial transactions of the business, journal entries, sales ledger and purchase ledger, bank reconciliations and other account reconciliations, general ledger management, banking, making payments, staff expenses, credit control, weekly and monthly reporting to management, closing the sales ledger and purchase ledger at the end of each month, ensuring all month end journals are posted and any other duties as required by the organisation
- Process timesheets, Gift Aid claims and payroll
- Carry out Partial Exemption calculations for VAT purposes
- Reviewing draft contracts for financial implications
- Kashflow software experience preferred but not essential
- Ensuring restricted grants are analysed and allocated accordingly
- Support the organisation with projects and tasks as required
- Respond to queries over the telephone, email and face to face
- Previous experience in a similar role for a charity

The AFRUCA Child Protection Family Support Service sits within AFRUCA as one of our most impactful programmes targeting families from a range of ethnic backgrounds across England and Wales. The service works closely with local authorities children’s services in cases involving families on child protection plans or in court proceedings. We provide direct one to one training and support for parents to aid their ability to provide appropriate parenting and ensure a safer, happier home environment for their children.
The AFRUCA Child Protection Service currently has a team of five qualified social workers and supports over 50 families each year. We also provide a therapeutic service where children are being reunified with their parents. We are establishing a child protection legal drop in service for families in contact with children’s services and an advocacy service for parents in the child protection system.
Most of our families are referred by local authorities children’s services as a result of cultural and religious practices which are deemed harmful to children’s well-being. We offer qualified social workers who do not wish to work in the statutory sector with an alternative approach to practising social work where empathy, kindness and support is key to our work with families. Our ultimate aim is a reduction of children in Black and Ethnic communities going into or remaining in foster care. We offer a non oppressive and non judgemental service that helps to promote the well-being of children in safe families.

Women and Girls Network (WGN) was established in 1987 and has spent over 30 years supporting women and girls across London affected by gendered violence. This includes childhood sexual abuse, domestic violence, rape, prostitution (including trafficking and sexual exploitation), female genital mutilation (FGM), and so-called ‘honour’ based crimes such as forced marriage.
Our goal is to promote, preserve, and restore the mental health and wellbeing of women and girls, to empower them to make a total and sustainable recovery from the experiences of violence. VAWG crimes, which include domestic abuse, rape, sexual assault, stalking, and harassment, accounted for 20% of total police recorded crime in England and Wales between 2022 and 2023. About the role
We are excited to be advertising this newly created role as part of WGN’s growth. This role will be the lead on the finance function. Reporting into the Director of Finance and Resources, the role works closely with stakeholders across the organisation including executive leadership, with a specific focus on working closely with the Director and external auditors. The role will have two direct reports – Finance Business Partner and Senior Finance Officer. This is a hands-on role and will have full responsibility for the finance function on a day to day and medium-term basis. The Financial Controller is to lead on all financial systems set up and upgrades.
Although the organisation is well established, this is a growing sector, and the organisation has gone through rapid change over the past few years and is therefore offering the right candidate a great opportunity to deliver change and make a real difference to WGN’s staff and clients.
Role Responsibilities:

- Have experience in working with the charity sector in a similar role for at least two years.
- Work well with non-finance colleagues and trustees in delivering key financial reports in an easy-to-understand manner.
- Be a qualified accountant.
- Be comfortable working in a hands-on environment

Job Summary:
The Head of Finance and Property (HFP) will be responsible for overseeing and directing the financial activities of the charity and its trading subsidiary, and property. This role includes financial planning, management of financial risks, record-keeping, and financial reporting. Risk Management:

Advisory Role:

Qualifications:
Essential:
Professional accounting qualification (e.g., ACA, ACCA, CIMA, CPA) or equivalent.
Significant experience in a senior financial role, preferably within the charity, non-profit or property sectors.
Strong knowledge of charity accounting principles, SORP, and related financial regulations.

Community Coach
As a member of the Community Team, you will provide vital support to people who have completed our course in prison and are now in the community working to find the stability they need to realise their potential, achieve their goals and rebuild their lives after prison.
This is an exciting time to join our Community Team as we look to broaden and deepen the support we offer participants as they leave prison. You will help shape our offer to participants; drawing on your experiences and creativity and working with our other Community Coaches to trial new approaches.
Partnership working plays an important part of the role, and you’ll get to connect with employers, partners and statutory organisations to support participants as they build a life after prison.
This role would be ideal for someone with a good understanding of the challenges faced by those caught up in the criminal justice system, gained through personal experience, paid work or volunteering. This role does require the successful candidate to work in prison and clear prison security to hold keys.

About the role
Neglected tropical diseases (NTDs) are a significant public health issue in Mali, including Trachoma, Lymphatic Filariasis, Onchocerciasis, Schistosomiasis, and soil-transmitted helminths. These diseases, linked to poverty and poor hygiene, cause serious morbidity and social discrimination, hindering socio-economic development. The Finance Assistant will support the implementation of WHO guidelines for NTD elimination and control, contributing to strategic plans and ensuring compliance with local regulations. The role involves managing financial records, logistics, and IT equipment, as well as supporting grant management and collaboration between finance and programme teams. Additionally, the Finance Assistant will help implement HR policies and ensure statutory compliance.
Responsibilities
- Ensure good collaboration with partners (INGOs, MoH, and Regional Health Directorates).
- Ensure routine data collection into organisational templates.
- Participate in key meetings and keep technical notes of each.
- Support national programmes in the finalisation of various reports and their archiving.
- Support national NTD programmes to implement activities according to required standards.
- Plan and play an active role in the supervision and monitoring of project activities.
- Submit reports of field activities as well as success stories.
- Support the writing of first drafts of Annual Project Reports (APRs).
- Follow up on the Due Diligence process by ensuring all required documents are in place.
- Properly archive all project documents (concept notes, full proposals, log frames, APRs, etc.).
- Work with the Programme Manager to ensure requested information and documents are uploaded into the Programme Portal.
- Participate in the elaboration of annual operational plans.
- Participate in the implementation of Programme Cycle Management (PCM) and Quality Standard Assessment Tool (QSAT) recommendations.
- Support data collection for the development of concept notes for new projects.

With extensive post Qualification experience in a senior Finance / Accountancy role in a business environment you will have proven experience of leading, managing and developing diverse teams including recruitment, managing performance, training and coaching. We are looking to see a successful track record of effectively managing transactional finance and balance sheet management with substantial experience of developing and implementing financial control procedures.
You will have extensive experience of providing advice and support to managers and staff from non-financial areas and are able to interpreting complex data and presenting findings in a simple and easily understood format to a variety of audiences.
