You will provide an expert and professional service on behalf of thirtyone:eight; including the provision of consultancy and engagement services, maintenance of policy, procedure and best practice guidance and contribute to the operation of our safeguarding helpline. 

We are looking for a person with strong communication skills and experience of providing safeguarding support and advice as part of a multi-disciplinary or faith-based context to join our established team for maternity cover. 

With a demonstrated commitment to the safeguarding and wellbeing of children and adults, you will need a good working knowledge of safeguarding policy, practice and legislation across diverse contexts (including the UK four nations), as well as a solid understanding of implementing safeguarding at a grass-roots level with faith organisations. The role

In this role, you’ll be responsible for:

• Strategic development and oversight of community programmes for children, adults and across multiple generations

• Leadership and line management of team; oversight of sessional facilitators and contractors used by team

• Setting programme budget and service targets; monitoring and evaluation to ensure delivery against these

• Playing a key part in building, broadening and developing new funding for these programmes and maintaining relationships with current funders

• Lead role in planning and execution of community events

• Development of corporate partnerships and CSR relationships

• Responsibility for general outward communications, including social media

• Contributing to the wider organisation as a member of the Senior Management Team

Main Responsibilities: 

– Provide professional and operational HR leadership to the HR team, ensuring that the HR team has clear objectives and associated work plans, perform to the highest standards and continues to be seen as a proactive, customer focussed and trusted partner to colleagues across YMCA ES at all levels.

About the Role 

We are now recruiting for an experienced Policy and Public Affairs Specialist to lead on planning and delivering Hibiscus’ work on racial and intersectional inequalities in the Criminal Justice and Immigration systems. 

Development, research and report writing will be a key aspect of this role; the successful candidate will be responsible for drafting policy recommendations, reports, and consultation responses on issues related to Black and minoritised migrant women in contact with the Criminal Justice and Immigration systems. Supporting the Head of Policy and Public Affairs, they will engage and develop relationships with key political and parliamentary stakeholders, developing and delivering a variety of public affairs initiatives to inform decision-makers and influence policy in Criminal Justice, Immigration and Violence Against Women and Girls (VAWG) sectors. The post holder will prepare press releases and statements to address prison and immigration reforms, identifying the gaps of adequate support for women, and will analyse external and internal quantitative and qualitative data relevant to our work.

As part of the role, the Policy and Public Affairs Specialist will be responsible for raising awareness and creating content on the treatment of Black and minoritised migrant women within the Criminal Justice System. The post holder will identify opportunities for influence, monitor trends and developments, and prepare communications, reports and policy briefings to help ensure our work has an impact.

The post holder will also be responsible for leading Hibiscus’ partnership work on the Women’s Justice Reimagined project, advocating for the reimagination of the Criminal Justic System. They will build on Hibiscus’ policy work to raise our profile within advisory and working groups, creating alliances with other organisations in the sector and collaborating with other specialist and third-sector organisations to campaign for policy change and increase policy and decision-makers awareness of the issues Hibiscus works on.

About You

The successful candidate will have experience working in the UK political context to influence change, with demonstrable experience in developing and implementing public affairs strategies and building relationships with policy makers to inform decision making in government and across the Criminal Justice and Immigration sectors. 

The candidate will have knowledge and experience in collecting quantitative and qualitative research methods to produce evidence-based reports, press statements, and legislative policy briefings. They will have in-depth knowledge of UK legislation and government institutions related to Criminal Justice, VAWG and Immigration sectors and an ability to analyse government and public policy reports to provide accurate and accessible briefings.

The successful candidate will demonstrate excellent verbal and written communication skills, with a strong self-awareness and ability to prioritise workloads whilst working collaboratively with colleagues.

Aquarius is a charity that helps people and communities overcome the harm caused by alcohol, drugs and gambling. Right now, we’re looking for someone like you to join our NGAGE Young People’s Service in Northampton. NGAGE is an early intervention drug and alcohol service for young people aged 10-18 and we provide information, education, advice, and support to young people concerning drug and alcohol use.

As Team Leader you will ensure good clinical practice and ensure the service operates within policy and statutory requirements. You will also provide induction, supervision, coaching and work and development reviews. In addition, you will:

• Deal with performance management issues
• Assist in the recruitment of team members and volunteers
• Develop and maintain effective liaison with commissioners and service providers

Ideally you have:

Overall purpose

Your primary responsibility will be to lead Breaking Barriers’ employment programme in Birmingham and the West Midlands, and support the Senior Employment Services Manager and Director of Services in ensuring high standards of quality and efficiency in the support we provide to clients.  

Working closely with the Senior Employment Services Manager, you will take ownership of delivery within this region and lead on the delivery of the contract, including maintaining effective external stakeholder relationships and providing accurate and timely reporting. You will line manage and support a team of Employment Advisers (“Advisers”), enabling them to provide high-quality support to clients and coordinate the day-to-day operational activity which keeps our programmes running.

You are a highly organised and effective worker who knows when to adopt a creative approach and when to follow the established process. You will have an empathetic manner, be willing to go the extra mile to support clients and be proactive in looking for ways to improve our service. Lived experience would be helpful but is not essential.  

In addition to exceptional people skills, you will be a strong communicator and possess meticulous attention to detail. You will be confident working autonomously, helped by excellent time management skills and the ability to prioritise and cope with interruptions.

You should have at a demonstrable track record of transferrable work experience in coordinating service delivery, projects or programmes, or another relevant field. Equally important is a demonstrable commitment to working with marginalised populations who face barriers to employment, particularly refugees. A strong interest in employability support and experience delivering employment programmes or careers advice would be a strong advantage.

The role

What you'll do:

Assist with the management of the Look Ahead Health & Safety risk register and annual action plan.
Assist with occasional health and safety and quality audits to gain experience of operations in the field.
Champion the Health & Safety and Safeguarding departments intranet page and document control
Champion the RIVO system, ensuring incidents are reported correctly and manage the follow up actions.
Identify internal themes, trends and good practice emerging from incidents, quality reports and health and safety alerts
Manage the mailboxes across the teams, including H&S, Safeguarding and Quality, responding to any email queries and register this information for further investigation.
Support the processes Look Ahead needs to meet its statutory obligations in all areas pertaining to health, safety, and welfare at work, including statutory training and reporting.
Assist the Senior Health & Safety Manager in co-ordinating the administration and development of health & safety policies, systems of work and procedures.
Analyse and collate the results of Quality visits across the organisation, monitoring the return of improvement plans and self audits.

We are looking to appoint a Programme Project Lead who will be responsible for the day to day development and management of the Kentown Children’s Palliative Care Programme.

Reporting to the Director of Care and based at our Kentown Care Team office in Lancaster, you will work in partnership with health, education and social care professionals, specifically Together for Short Lives to lead the project and to raise awareness of the programme and of children’s palliative care.

You will take responsibility for delivering a high-quality family support service, managing the Kentown Family Support Team and will be a member of the Rainbow Trust Care Managers group, contributing to service development across the wider organisation and providing management and leadership to the team in relation to all safeguarding issues.

Having worked within the community, you have a commitment to working in partnership with children, young people and their families, developing, monitoring and delivering service outcomes and building and maintaining successful professional partnerships to ensure the service is accessible to relevant families.

What we’re looking for:

· An experienced child health, education or social care professional - applications will be particularly welcome from those who understand the impact on family dynamics of having a child/young person with a life threatening or terminal illness and those who have worked in bereavement support.
