We have an exciting opportunity for a Team Leader to join our Southwest prison service based in HMP Portland. Our Team Leaders at Change Grow Live play a pivotal part in supporting the wider teams, working with people to help them change the direction of their life, grow as an individual, and live life to its full potential.
Working under the direction of the Service Manager, the post-holder will support and lead a team of staff within the prison estate and be able to respond to a changing and challenging work environment. This is an excellent opportunity for someone already working within the prison/criminal justice field looking to take the next step in their career with a charity dedicated to supporting your personal and professional development.

About the role:
- Operational line management of a team of staff which includes supervision (with reflective practice), appraisal, performance and sickness management as well as ensuring staff follow CGL and external policies applicable to their roles
- Manage the rota of staff, working with other managers to ensure all elements of the service are covered appropriately. Participate in management on-call duty/rota
- Ensure quality of service delivery through data analysis and engaging staff in service quality improvement planning
- Plan, chair and contribute to team meetings that promote learning cultures, cascade information, and provide feedback mechanisms for staff on service delivery/developments
- Support staff to improve service user outcomes through observed practice, providing timely values-based feedback
- Develop and sustain key relationships within the HMP environment particularly those relating to the Health and Well-being model

About you:
- Educated to degree level or equivalent experience
- Excellent interpersonal skills at all levels to engage, build relationships and influence

- Adaptable and able to work in a challenging and changeable environment
- Working knowledge and understanding of substance misuse issues and the ability to recognise the indicators of increasingly chaotic and risky misuse of substances amongst Service Users
- Experience in managing a caseload of Service Users with complex needs
- Proven track record in managing incidents of challenging behaviour

My Life My Choice (MLMC) is a multi-award-winning self-advocacy charity uniquely run by and for people with learning disabilities, founded in 1998. The charity delivers a diverse range of innovative user led projects that enhance and empower the lives of adults with learning disabilities in Oxfordshire. These established projects include a fee earning training and consultancy Professional Services team, the gig buddy and travel buddy schemes, a nightclub, campaigns and self-advocacy groups.
About the role
We are now looking for a committed individual who will enjoy a diverse and challenging role. The role holder will work across a variety of our projects. This includes working with the Travel Buddy Coordinator to ensure the delivery and growth of a high-quality programme of travel support for our membership. About the team and role as the Senior Cook:

You'll also be involved in other essential duties that contribute to the smooth running of the kitchen, ensuring a great dining experience for all visitors.

Our ideal candidate is inclusive and uses the child as the starting point to plan an engaging and suitable curriculum which helps each child to meet their EHCP outcomes and grow academically too.
We work hard to match the right student with the right teacher and Teaching Assistant; you may be an expert with students in a particular age group (our students range from 6 to 16), subject, or enjoy working with students who have particular needs such as SEMH, hearing impairments or Autism Spectrum Condition. Almost all of our students have EHCPs, though their needs are quite varied. Our students benefit from creative approaches to learning so you can have fun with how to you teach!
Because of their vulnerabilities and often disrupted learning experiences, our students need a caring approach and our work is underpinned by the principles of Attachment Theory. To flourish in this role you must care about children and believe that every child deserves the best opportunity to achieve their potential, whatever that looks like.
The ideal candidate will also be able to develop positive relationships with parents and carers. Experience working with students with SEND or in a Special School is advantageous but not essential. This post is suitable for someone who has previously worked with children possibly as a teacher, TA or as a children’s worker within the church. You may have previously worked in the third sector or for the local authority with families?
Main Tasks:
- Pioneer new initiatives to develop children and families’ ministry and expand our outreach in the local area; including appropriate use of the liturgical calendar and community initiatives such as holiday clubs, and toddler groups.
- Recruit and coach voluntary teams, pastoring all members on the Children and Youth teams.
- Build relationships and partnerships with schools, colleges and community groups, and where applicable, be the first point of contact for them.
- To ensure the Church in Wales constitution, policies, and practises are followed and strong safeguarding practises are embedded into their ethos so that all pipeline activities are a safe space.
- Oversee all child protection, organising training and DBS checks.

The Role
As Programme Manager you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth delivery of the Tree Aid portfolio – including in francophone West Africa, so being able to speak French is a strong advantage.
Supported by two Programme Officers (to be line managed by you), and overseeing the delivery of some projects yourself, you will work with UK and Regional and country office Programme and Monitoring, Evaluation and Learning staff to track delivery and reporting on Tree Aid projects, reporting any major issues and successes to the Head of Programme Management.
As Programme Manager, you will be expected to:
•Line manage programme officers, to monitor – and directly support where necessary – projects, in being on-track with their delivery in terms of donor compliance, timeframe, budget and objectives
•Provide backstopping to specific projects within the Tree Aid portfolio, ensuring that they too are on-track
•Act as a focal point for donors where it is necessary in managing project contracts
•Support the Head of Programme Management in improving Programme Management systems and processes and raising any major project issues
About You
As Programme Manager, you will have a wealth of experience in project/contract management ideally in an international development organisation.
You will also have the following knowledge, experience, and skills:
•A commitment to TREE AID's values
•Ability to communicate in French
•Able to work as part of a cross-cultural team particularly with staff for whom English is not their first language
•Able to work flexibly and be adaptable
•Shows Initiative, and can work with minimum supervision
•5 years’ experience of project / contract management ideally in an international development organisation
•Demonstrable experience of managing complex projects and collaborating with several colleagues across countries
•Experience of managing teams, including remotely
•Excellent IT skills specifically Excel
