About the role

We are searching for an exceptional Learning Disability (LD) User Involvement Project Manager to work in our well-regarded learning disability user involvement services. 

The post holder will be responsible for managing the ‘Synergy’ Learning Disability User Involvement Project, supporting and supervising ‘experts by experience’ - learning disability representatives, volunteers and participants - and actively reaching out to the wider Camden learning disability community, reporting their views to Council, NHS and CCG representatives, helping to shape the services people from this community receive.

Key responsibilities

• Support the user-led ethos of the Synergy project, and provide line management, supervision, support, and annual appraisal of the Synergy Reps. This also includes managing volunteers, work experience/internship opportunities, and recruitment to the Synergy project; and processing reward & recognition, salary payments and queries.
• Manage and deliver consultations, training, groups, and workshops that align with local and national priorities, as well as the Advocacy Project’s strategic priorities, feeding this into decision-making forums. This will include involvement in the Camden Planning Together Board, including agenda setting, creating Easy read documents, and supporting the co-chair.
•  Design and conduct consultations, through a variety of methods including interviews, surveys, focus groups, meetings, and forums; with individuals or groups; in person, online, and via telephone or video calls. Collate consultation results and write up evaluation reports.
• Provide regular speaking up opportunities, which might include drop-ins, group meetings, consultations, forums and focus groups as well as one-to-one interviews - addressing any gaps in diversity to ensure a diverse representation of the community are engaging in opportunities.
• Develop effective working relationships with key staff in health and social care and voluntary sector services including carers; working in partnership with them to raise awareness of the Advocacy Project services and to amplify user voice and to shape local and national services.
• Manage the service according to the contract and allocated budgets ensuring they meet agreed standards, monitoring system requirements, service goals and outcomes; and provide accurate and timely project updates and monitoring reports.
• Develop and manage income generation opportunities such as training, awareness sessions, and easy read translation.
•  Work according to the Equality Act 2010 and other forms of legislation that combat discrimination and promote equality and diversity.
• Communicate effectively with people with a learning disability, including people with profound and multiple learning disabilities (PMLD), using a range of creative approaches – for example, Makaton, intensive interaction and objects of reference - to maximise participation opportunities in line with the Advocacy Project’s Accessible Information Standards.
• Support the Synergy team to participate in recruitment or procurement procedures within but not limited to Camden Council, NHS settings, and NCL CCG.
• Use organisational software and systems to record information that will contribute to the writing of regular reports.
• Keep up to date with developments and good practice guidelines in advocacy and user involvement and of health and social care services/legislation and local and national policy, and priorities relating to people with learning disabilities. This includes co-production, involvement, representation and consultation practices.
• Work with commissioners and key stakeholders to develop effective consultation, involvement, and co-production.
• Attend local, London-wide, and national events and meetings; and support the Synergy Reps and volunteers to attend.
• Work as an active member of the user involvement team - contributing to service planning and development. Where necessary, provide cover within the UI team.

Person specification

Essential qualities and attributes:

• Understanding of the issues faced by people with a learning disability, and recent developments in policy and practice, and health and social care legislation.
• Sound knowledge of services for people with learning disabilities
• Experience of the principles, practice and different approaches to user involvement, including co-production, consultation and speaking up forums.
• Ability to listen, communicate and build trust with people with learning disabilities, including those with high support and complex needs and/or profound and multiple learning disabilities (PMLD), to enable them to express their views and support their inclusion in the development of local, London-wide and National strategy.
• Ability to manage group dynamics, and negotiate/resolve conflicts or disagreements that may arise during group meetings.
• Ability to work with a wide variety of stakeholders including commissioners, volunteers, service users and colleagues.
• Excellent communication skills (written and verbal) and understanding and experience of using a variety of creative communication methods such as Intensive interaction, Easy read, Makaton, Talking mats, and Objects of reference etc.

• Commitment to working within the Advocacy Project code of conduct, equality and diversity, and safeguarding policies.

Location: Derbyshire (community based) with some elements of home-working.

As a Dementia Adviser, you will provide person-centred and outcomes focused information, advice and support services to people affected by dementia and memory loss symptoms in Derbyshire. You will identify their needs and the services they may wish to access, support the improvement of their sense of wellbeing, putting them in more control of their lives. 

You may need to work with a variety of other professionals, such as GP’s, memory clinic staff and other health and social care partners, and support may be provided in person, over the telephone, via virtual options or in writing. We aim to reach people affected by dementia from all communities and support their needs within their own community. 

About you

We are looking to welcome an approachable, enthusiastic, and knowledgeable individual who will focus on supporting people affected by Dementia across Derbyshire. 

You will have:

- The ability to work inclusively with people affected by dementia, along with an understanding of the need for client confidentially

The Trustees of St Neots Foodbank are looking for a new Foodbank Manager to join our amazing team of volunteers. We are a community-led operation that is based on, shaped, and guided by Christian principles. We believe no-one in our community should have to face going hungry.  

St Neots Foodbank was founded ten years ago by the town’s churches; and is part of the Trussell Trust network and is still managed by trustees from those churches. At St Neots Foodbank we have our own warehouse and run four distribution centres across St Neots each week; all currently staffed by over 70 volunteers.

We are looking for

As Operations Manager, you will oversee the operations at St Neots Foodbank, giving particular attention to operational efficiency and standards in line with the terms of the franchise, including the implementation of existing policies and standard operating processes. You will be instrumental in enabling our Foodbank to continue to support our community and support and guide its future development.

Our ideal candidate will have relevant experience and be able to demonstrate great leadership qualities to build strong teams based on trust and understanding. Self-motivation, organisation and excellent interpersonal skills will be essential for this role. Healthwatch Milton Keynes' vision is that people's lived experiences are used to design and improve health and social care services and our mission is to champion people's rights and access to high-quality health and social care. We're seeking a project officer to deliver an exciting new project.

ROLE PURPOSE

This is an amazing opportunity for someone who thrives on operational excellence and loves managing a project to completion to have a hugely impactful and pivotal role in a church entering a new phase of its life. KEY TASKS AND DELIVERABLES

Oversee Operational Excellence - Oversee the important day-to-day operations of the church and its buildings and hold oversight responsibility for: Project roll-out; Health and Safety; Food Hygiene, Fire Assessment; Risk Management; Infrastructure; GDPR and Accessibility issues.

• Develop and lead the ongoing strategic plan for the church’s activity in consultation with the wider team.
• Collect and collate data and process information to provide reports as required about church activity.
• Lead the process of planning, designing, developing and implementing church operating and governance procedures, processes and systems.
• Work as part of the leadership team to develop the church’s calendar of events and activities.
• Collect data regarding progress concerning the church’s key objectives and report regularly to relevant stakeholders.

• Oversee the smooth operational running, development and communications of Sunday services & events.

• Management of bank accounts, utilities, insurance, and various contracts as needed.

• Work with Rector, and churchwardens to ensure monthly and annual accounts and budgets are prepared for submission to the Charities Commission on time.

Ensure our facilities are the best they can be.

• Work with the church warden who oversees facilities to manage the premises and facilities ensuring the site is maintained to a high standard and used in line with the vision.
• Oversee facilities, insurance, health and safety and risk management.
• Project manage key organisational development projects within the church and where necessary liaise with external contractors and suppliers.
• Create systems that enable ministry and mission.

Be the Team – as All Saints has never had a contemporary worship service before, this is really a church-planting opportunity. We’re therefore looking to build a team of people who are energised by helping one another and who want to serve the wider vision of the church rather than work in team- specific silos. While most of your work will be focused on operational excellence, we’re aiming to be a close-knit team who all help each other and where no one is left with too much on their plate or a task they can’t manage. SPECIAL CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT

Being part an active part of the worship of the Christian Church is a genuine occupational requirement for this role. The Operations Lead will be expected to be part of the worshipping community at All Saints while holding this role. The role holder must be available to work a selection of Key Annual events which will include various Holiday services, Church Meetings, Focus (our church summer holiday festival), and other key ministry events (for which advanced notice of dates will be given and time in lieu will be given if outside of normal working hours). All staff must attend weekly staff meetings in person.

About CAT

The Centre for Alternative Technology (CAT) is an internationally renowned environmental charity, a world-leading eco centre, and one of the foremost providers of postgraduate environmental education in the UK, based near Machynlleth in Powys, Mid Wales.

CAT provides inspiration, education and training in solutions to the climate and biodiversity emergency.

Key activities include residential short courses, vocational training and postgraduate degrees in a wide range of sustainability-related topics, with online courses and events offered alongside in-person learning.

CAT launched the Zero Carbon Britain Hub and Innovation Lab in 2020 with support from the Moondance Foundation. This was initially a three year project and received further funding from the Moondance Foundation to run the Innovation Lab for a further three years. The aim of the project is to improve the capacity of councils and communities to turn climate emergency declarations into action and create systemic change in order to increase resilience to climate change.

This will be achieved by offering a programme of support aimed at increasing the competence, confidence and effectiveness of policy makers, communities and organisations in developing zero carbon policies and action plans. This support will include: using the Zero Carbon Britain model to provide people with the knowledge to create Zero Carbon Action Plans; delivering Zero Carbon Britain training using a ‘train the trainer’ model to increase the skills and capacity of communities to take action on climate change; supplying the tools to enable people to turn climate emergency declarations into action; setting up a digital resource hub and online network to provide peer support and increase confidence of individuals and communities to take action on climate change. The postholder will manage the Zero Carbon Britain Innovation Lab, to improve the capacity of councils and communities to turn climate emergency declarations into action, identifying key issues, priorities and tasks, developing ideas that impact on these areas and creating routes into larger scale impact or systems change, in order to increase resilience to climate change.

The Opportunity:

This is a standalone role and is the first port of call for all HR and payroll queries at the Charity. You will be responsible for providing a robust, comprehensive and proactive HR service across the whole organisation.

The focus will be on developing and strengthening the Charity’s people processes.
