Think Ahead offers a paid two-year social work training programme, partnering with NHS trusts and local authorities across England. Each year we train up to 160 social workers, bringing passionate people into the sector and strengthening mental health services.
Joining a unit of fellow trainees, you’ll learn on the job, working alongside mental health professionals and learning from senior social workers.

Who are we looking for?
We want people who can make a real difference and help people living with mental illness. You don’t need any prior experience of social work, but you will need to:
- Hold or be predicted to hold a 2:2 in a subject other than social work.
- Hold at least a grade C at GCSE level in Maths, and in English or English Language (not English Literature), or an equivalent level 2 qualification.
- Have the right to remain and work in the UK (including access to public funds) for the entire duration of the programme.

About the role
Mental health social work is a highly varied role that offers a wide range of opportunities to support the lives of people with mental health needs.
Using a social approach, you will help them address a diverse range of factors including relationships, housing, and employment, that are often overlooked in treatment of mental illness.
This might include standing up for someone’s legal rights in the workplace; reconnecting them with friends, family and their local community; or working with local authorities to make sure they are living in accommodation that is suitable for their needs.

The Role
The Supporter Journey Team is responsible for delivering world-class behavioural journeys for our charity partners.
You will ensure that we are continuously providing the best supporter journeys in the sector by designing, building, delivering and optimising omni-channel behavioural journeys at scale, in turn delivering value to our clients.

Key responsibilities
Marketing

We’re looking for an experienced Social Media Officer to support our team campaigning to stop the development of new oil and gas fields and for a rapid and fast phase out of oil & gas in the UK through a just transition.
About us
Uplift is a campaigning and research organisation which supports efforts to create a rapid and fair transition away from oil and gas production in the UK. We have coordinated and implemented major successful campaigns and developed cutting-edge campaign, communications and research tactics. We have grown rapidly as an organisation over the last three years and are now looking for a Social Media Officer.
The Role
Core responsibilities will include:
- Maintaining and implementing content plan for social media channels (primarily Instagram, X, Tiktok and Facebook) including drafting copy, creating content and ensure consistent posting for all channels with the guidance of Digital campaigner/Digital Campaign Lead and campaign team
- Producing a range of daily digital content for Uplift’s social media channels - from simple social-first graphic design, to lo-fi effective social video content
- Working in collaboration with other creatives - ie graphic designers, video producers, creators and influencers - for additional campaign assets
- Creating reactive content and messaging to respond to current events, helping Uplift maximise opportunities for engagement and growth using the news cycle
- Community management across the various campaign channels
- Developing social media toolkits and coordinating with partners around big mobilisations
- Analysing the performance of social media outputs and their contribution towards the wider campaign, and making recommendations on how to improve

How you will make a difference:
Amna is seeking a Social Media and Design Consultant on a monthly retainer contract to support our digital content strategy and enhance our online presence. Both individuals and agencies with the relevant skills and experience are welcome to apply. This role is pivotal in amplifying our mission through creative and impactful content that engages our audience and reflects our core values. The consultant will bring expertise in social media management, graphic design, and video editing to help us effectively communicate our story.
Deliverables include:
- Designing up to 20 high-quality graphical posts per month for social media, ensuring alignment with Amna’s visual identity and core values.
- Editing videos and reels for social media channels, up to 5 per month, using software such as Adobe Premiere Pro or Final Cut Pro.
- Scheduling posts across social media platforms using Hootsuite, ensuring consistent and strategic content delivery.
- Uploading and managing content on Amna’s website using a web Content Management System (CMS), such as WordPress.
- Providing ad-hoc design support as needed, including infographics, reports, and digital marketing materials (2-3 per month).
- Collaborating closely with the communications team to develop and execute content strategies that raise awareness and foster engagement.
- Keeping up to date with social media trends, tools, and best practices to enhance Amna’s digital presence, engaging with comments and messages.
- Amna team will share briefs and provide text, creative direction and copy for each deliverable.
- The consultant will be also expected to be available for 1-2 check in meetings per week.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Proven experience managing social media platforms and developing visual content for social media, preferably in the non-profit or social impact sector.

Between years one and two you will receive a two-week paid break and a budget of up to £1500 to complete a research project on ‘Impact and Sustainability’ and report your findings back to representatives of our Group Board. Marketing Strategy
- Campaign Development: Oversee the development of multichannel paid social media marketing campaigns with the objective of providing our clients the best possible return on ad spend.
- Strategy refinement and innovation: Responsible for the refinement of the paid marketing strategies offered to our charity partners. Leading on testing new platform, audience and creative approaches which significantly improve outcomes.

Campaign Delivery
- Production: Oversee and support the production of marketing campaign resources such as copy and media ensuring the final execution meets our charity partners brand requirements and delivers the best possible results.
- Media Buying and Search Engine Optimisation: Oversee and support the delivery of paid social media campaigns with significant budgets working across a variety of channels including Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, TikTok, X (Twitter), and more. Develop and execute SEO strategies.

Team Leadership and Development

Line Manager: Digital Communications Lead
Your responsibilities will include:
Social media delivery and community management
- Plan and deliver inspiring and effective social media content, including as part of engagement campaigns, fundraising appeals and initiative launches, and in support of our partners and members.
- Produce text- and video-/graphic-based social media posts and campaigns that are both suited to our target audiences and adapted for the most appropriate social channels.
- Carry out community management across the charity's digital channels, triaging queries and drafting responses.
- Assist with the optimisation of Rewilding Britain's current social media channels and the identification of new opportunities/platforms/trends that would help further our mission.
Email communications
- Support the Communications and Engagement team with the planning, building and scheduling of email communications (campaigns, supporters, fundraising, corporate partners etc) within Mailchimp.
- Assist with the AB testing of our email marketing and executing a plan of continuous improvement for our emails.
- Support with managing our enquiry inboxes as and when required.
Reporting and optimising
- Collate statistics on the performance of our social and email channels, in line with our KPIs, and work closely with the Digital Communications Lead to make ongoing recommendations for our output.
- Implement feedback and lessons learned to refine and improve our social media approach.
- Stay current with sector and specialist trends, best practices, and emerging technologies to continuously grow the effectiveness of our channels, particularly social media.
Communications support
- Take responsibility for triaging internal requests for content output across our channels and coordinate this across the Communications and Engagement team.

Terms and conditions and staff benefits
The role is a full-time, 5-day-week (35 hours) position.
The salary is £23,000 - £27,000 per annum depending upon experience.
There will be some freedom for the person to determine their own working arrangements each week, within limitations, providing the work is delivered.
Rewilding Britain employees benefit from 25 days annual leave per year (pro rata for part time roles), rising to 30 days over 5 years. A generous employer-matched pension scheme is also available.
We are a virtual team who work from home and/or co-working spaces. We will support you to achieve a suitable virtual working environment. Some meetings are held face to face across Britain, so a willingness to travel with occasional overnight stays is desirable.
