Position: Womens Community Project Key Worker
Location: Based in central Reading. The role requires travel across Berkshire, Oxford City and South Oxfordshire, the post holder must hold a full UK drivers license with access to own transport
Contract: Permanent full time – 37 hours per week Monday to Friday. Part time hours will also be considered
Salary: Starting salary in the range of £25,734 to £31,453 per annum, depending on skills and experience (pro rata if part time)

About the role:
As a Key Worker at Alana House, you will hold a case load of women and be involved in one to one work support work and group based sessions. Your Key Worker responsibilities will include:
· regularly meet with women to provide dedicated emotional and practical support
· complete initial assessments of risk and need, and provide one-to-one support across rehabilitative pathways
· create and review support plans in collaboration with the woman, and other agencies
· facilitate and deliver group-based support
About you:
As a Key Worker, you’ll bring an in depth knowledge of issues facing women with multiple disadvantages, including those with convictions and those at risk of offending. You’ll also have significant experience of supporting women with issues such as homelessness, substance misuse, domestic abuse and mental health, preferably within a criminal justice setting.

ASH has recently agreed a new five-year strategy and effective and impactful communications is a critical part of achieving our influencing goals. The Communications Lead will be responsible for our digital and social channels, developing compelling content and copy, as well as managing our media presence and working with journalists to secure coverage of our messages, research and reports. There’s no such thing as a typical day: you could be involved in everything from creating a social post to explain the implications of a new policy, advising the team on new content ideas for the website, liaising with a national newspaper to comment on breaking news or managing the design of a key report for policymakers.
About the candidate

9. Strong organisational skills – including excellent record keeping, and an ability to independently manage workload and work to deadlines, while responding to current events.
10. Enthusiasm for, and commitment to, the aims and objectives of ASH and an interest in public health more broadly. Understanding of policy influencing and government relations would be an advantage, but not essential.

About the role
The Policy and Public Affairs team is responsible for Carers UK’s policy, media, campaigns, research, public affairs and media functions, working with our colleagues in Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland. We are a small team carrying out the full range of public affairs activity, from raising awareness of caring through public campaigns and in the media, to influencing Parliament, Government and wider stakeholders through new research, policy expertise and our campaigning work.
This role plays a vital part in delivering the charity’s core aims to make life better for carers by:
- Contributing to Carers UK's policy and campaigns function in the development and dissemination of policy and supporting key projects to maintain and improve the reputation of the organisation.

Prostate Cancer Research exists to honour the men and families who have been through things no family should have to go through, and to work for a future where no one needs to fear a prostate cancer diagnosis.
We are always working to provide resources to help, support and empower patients. Giving them the information they need to make better choices about their treatment, while working to identify and target specific unmet needs in the prostate cancer ecosystem, such as racial inequality and bone metastasis.

The Events & Community Manager role is a new position, created to give the attention and expertise needed to our large and profitable portfolio of virtual challenge events, which have collectively raised over £1m gross income per year for two years. It is a crucial role within the team, overseeing the innovation, planning and delivery of all virtual challenges. You will work with colleagues accross the organisation to seize opportunities, whilst ensuring best practice in our fundraising activity and infastructure, delivering brilliant stewardship during supporters participation in the virtual events and beyond.
The position reports to the Head of Events & Community, and will line manage one Events & Community Executive. Collaboration will be important, especially with the senior Events team managers who lead the innovation, planning and delivery of third party and PCR owned bespoke events.
Key Responsibilities
Strategy, Project Management and Income Growth
- Lead the strategy to maximise the value of PCR's virtual challenge events portfolio, working with the Head of E&C and others to take a long-term view, building on existing foundations to grow and maintain a sustainable income stream
- Oversee the project management of PCR's Facebook Challenges in the UK, leading end-to-end planning and delivery with the support of the E&C executives to hit ambition fundraising targets
- Design and deliver ambitious fundraising budgets for your projects which contribute net income towards PCR's lifesaving mission
- Create and maintain good relationships with suppliers, venues, agencies and consultants to ensure great value
- Oversee the stewardship of fundraisers taking part in virtual challenge events, gaining a solid understanding of the audience, ensuring supporter journeys are relevent and engaging and using feedback to continually develop positive experiences for supporters
- Work with other events team managers to contibute to the planning and delivery of other activity areas, including third-party challenges
Product Development and Innovation
- Continue to grow and improve PCR's Facebook Challenge portfolio, staying up to date with sector trends and opportunities for new journeys, suppliers, propositions and tools, taking a test and learn approach and always ensuring that learnings are captured. For this, there will be realistic budgets and an understanding of the investment needed for new ideas
- Develop approaches to engage supporters beyone their initial participations, working with Public Fundrasing colleagues and others to test cross-selling journeys and maximise the lifetime value of virtual event fundraisers
- Work with other team members to improve other areas of social and virtual fundraising (e.g. non-challenge fundraising on Meta), ensuring all supporters are stewarded and income generaltion opportunities are seized upon
- Maintain a strong level of understanding of PCR's existing (and target) supporters in order to create and implement products & stewardship that motivate and inspire.
- Alongside the Head of E&C and other Events team managers, embed a culture of innovation and supporter insight
- Proactively collaborate internally, working with other teams to identify opportunities which meet PCR's objectives

Team leadership
- Line manage one Events & Community Executive, overseeing their work, guiding them to improve & innovate in their role, and supporting their professional development
- Work with the other Events team managers to support (and where appropriate take a lead on) the development of processes and infrastructure in order to improve efficiency, compliance and best practice across the team
- Work closely with the Head of E&C and the other Events team managers on team strategy and capacity planning

- Attend and contribute to meetings, sharing new ideas and learnings that might be useful for the wider team

As with everyone in the the Public Fundraising department, you may also get involved with other projects and tasks as appropriate to support all our activities.

Skills and Competencies
Some of the key attributes of the Events & Community Manager will be:
- A willingness to get stuck in, proactive attitude and eagerness to learn
- Confident event and project management skills, including end-to-end planning, budgeting & results tracking
- An understanding and (ideally) experience of large-scale virtual challenge events or similar peer-to-peer fundraising activity

What the job involves
As part of the Strategic Communications, Campaigns and Brand team, you’ll support the Head of Strategic Communications, Campaigns and Branding by directing the Business Partnering team, and developing and embedding our Business Partnering model.
You’ll partner with senior leaders and product owners to act as a supportive enabler of their communications objectives, and ensuring they’re actively engaged in the development of communications strategies, objectives and plans. A major part of the role will be enabling the integration of activity into the wider communications plan to enhance results from our communications.
You’ll guide the planning process for projects and campaigns to build awareness of risk, tackle health inequalities and improve outcomes for all men affected by and at risk of prostate cancer. As part of this role, you’ll also be managing a team of two.
Please note this role is known internally as Senior Communications Business Partner (HSEI & Research).
What we want from you
In this role you’ll be leading a new team of Business Partners and a Communications Planning Manager to ensure Prostate Cancer UK’s communications are well-planned, integrated (where appropriate), and effective. That means you’ll need a strong understanding of high-impact communications business partnering and planning, using an agile, flexible, and fast-paced approach.
You’ll also excel at building trust and connections with community groups, ideally with experience in reaching, engaging, and activating high-risk communities.
Prior experience and knowledge of devising and delivering big multi-channel campaigns – including PR, social media, communications and marketing would be an asset. You’ll be a strategic influencer who understands how positive, coordinated relationship management drives performance alongside an outstanding communicator – who’s confident and good at communicating complex technical information to general audiences.

The Role
This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced grants fundraiser to join CSW to use their skills to help people who are harassed and persecuted for their beliefs. You will play a key role in generating sustainable income for our work through securing grants from charitable trusts, foundations and institutions.

- Research and identify new sources of funding to grow pipeline of prospective trusts, foundations and institutions

The Health Collective is one of our central campaigns. It has emerged out of the urgent need to close the health gap for women from marginalised communities and is made up of and led by grassroots organisations, representing women’s voices from every marginalised community in our society.
The Health Collective Community Manager will be responsible for managing the development, expansion, and sustainability of the Health Collective.
This role will focus on managing and growing the existing community of members, organising and facilitating regular meetings, content creation for the Health Collective, coordinating the development of a unique identity for the group, and establishing an online community forum.
The role will also involve coordinating training sessions, events, and communication between the Collective and external stakeholders. This is an exciting opportunity to be at the forefront of a growing community that empowers women and promotes health equality.

Main Duties
Community Engagement & Growth
- Actively manage and grow the online and offline community, recruiting new members from all marginalised communities and fostering a sense of trust and connection.
- Design and manage regular communications with members, updating them about upcoming HC events/meetings, news/policy relevant to the inequalities agenda and funding/research opportunities.
- Set up and run a virtual community for members and monitor and moderate community interactions to ensure a positive and respectful environment.

Content Creation & Communication
- Create and share high-quality, educational, and influencing content across social media platforms and the website.
- Collaborate with experts, healthcare providers, and advocates to produce webinars, workshops, and other community-centred initiatives.
- Work with a designer and members to create the Health Collective's logo and identity.
Event Coordination
- Plan, organize, and manage virtual and in-person health collective meetings, liaising with members to determine the agenda and experts to find a diverse range of speakers.
- Collaborate with external partners to enhance event quality and reach.
Monitoring, evaluation & reporting
- Record and monitor the Collective’s activities (output) and their effectiveness (impact) through data collection, surveys, interviews and case studies.
- Report on project progress and update the Wellbeing of Women team regularly.
- Report on project progress to National Lottery at least twice a year with information about the Collective’s outputs and impact along with an expenditure budget for the period
- Work with an external consultant to assess the Collective’s impact annually.
Advocacy
- Work with the Head of Comms and Campaigns to build relationships with key stakeholders, influencers, and organisations aligned with the collective’s mission.
- Monitor news and political developments relevant to the Health Collective’s work.

Following a 3-month probation period, you will transition to a fixed-term contract. Upon successful completion of this term, you will be offered a permanent employment contract. A minimum salary of £39,695.24 gross (our salary base for people resident in the UK) will apply from the beginning of the probationary period. The salary base may change due to your previous experience related to the position, or your experience in animal advocacy (+3% for each year). In addition, the salary increases with your seniority in Open Cages according to the following model:

About your role
We are a small and ambitious early-stage organisation with two full-time team members. Our current objective: to help the 1 billion chickens raised annually in the UK. By joining us as a campaigner you will be both strategising and spending time on the frontlines, by talking to the biggest companies, producing investigative reports and giving media interviews. Your first task will be to help us convince the UK’s largest food businesses to improve their chicken welfare policies through public and behind-the-scenes advocacy. While this may sound challenging, it’s a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to make a historic change for those who cannot stand up for themselves. Someone has to pick up the fight, and we hope it will be You.

Due to the broad scope of our work, there is no simple description of the perfect campaigner. There may also be certain areas where you are stronger than others, and we are open to fitting the role around you. We are looking for a generalist rather than a specialist. However, you do need to have some particular strengths such as resilience, persistence, creativity, and critical thinking. Ideally, some day, you will be able to lead a big team and transfer your knowledge to them.

- Strategise – it is not easy to change the world. As a campaigner you will ask yourself endless questions. You will be responsible for campaign strategy which requires careful planning and the ability to think ahead.
- Take risks – negotiating in a high stakes meeting, attending a farming conference, organising a protest, taking 500 videos of a retailer’s chicken products for a BBC story (yes, we did this!) – in this role you will need to be comfortable with stepping out of your comfort zone.
- Conduct research – you will spend many hours online gathering information, working with investigators and lawyers, or delivering 50 chicken products to a lab in Germany (we did this too).
- Create engaging content – you will produce emotive graphics and videos for social media, factual reports and data-driven briefings for journalists and politicians.
- Work with the media – you will engage with journalists, write press releases, and give the odd interview.
- Mobilise advocates – you will write emails to our supporters and motivate them to take action with us. You will also organise and run street actions like protests and stunts.
