Summary of the role:
The Global Programmes Assistant reports directly to the Global Programmes Manager and will primarily be responsible for providing support functions to the International Programmes team. The role requires excellent organisational, teamwork and numeracy skills, to work with key stakeholders to ensure an effective, efficient and quality delivery of development and emergency response programmes. The Global Programmes Assistant also supports the administrative work of the department, including the preparation and tracking of project payments, and maintaining partner due diligence records.
About the Role:
- Provide programme and administrative assistance to Country Programmes and Programmes Partnerships teams as required including support with the development and production of project proposals.
- Responsible for updating and maintaining the Project Tracker and SharePoint site.
- Maintain soft (and if required hard copies of) programme files, provide filing assistance to the team and support archiving.
- Ensure the timely submission of quarterly and completion reports, and support the review of seasonal and small-medium project reports as delegated by Country Programmes and Programmes Partnerships teams
- Maintain and review the report supporting documents including field reports, financial evidence, centrally agreed documents, media and case studies.
- Support the development of IPD wide administrative systems.
About You:
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- Previous experience of working within a Programme Support/administrative role.
- Experience of working with budgets and/or processing payments.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to liaise with a variety of stakeholders and employees at all levels.
- High degree of organisational and time management skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and the ability to learn and utilise any software adopted by Muslim Aid.
- Ability to work under pressure, be proactive and work on own initiative.

- Manage the stewardship of the trusts and foundations portfolio, crafting winnable applications, and delivering reports as part of the engagement process;
- Work closely with the institutional development managers to identify opportunities for their portfolios and on institutional proposal development when necessary;
- Develop strategies for engaging new prospective donors through research and represent the organsation through networking;
- Gather and share information on new potential funding and/or themes and contribute to the intelligence and MEL functions with donor information and competitor mapping;
- Manage and develop existing relationships in collaboration with international programmes;
- Line management of a Development Assistant and coordination of their support to other team member.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
- At least 5 years of experience working in a similar role;
- Significant and demonstrable experience of securing income from trusts and foundations;
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team;
- High quality verbal and written communication, problem-solving, critical thinking and a desire to collaborate with peers;
- Proven successful experience in identifying and securing unpublished funding opportunities;
- Ability to deliver high-level presentations to donors, clients and internal audiences.

Hospice at Home’s core service is its skilled team of Registered Nurses and Healthcare Assistants who provide exceptional care and support in people’s last year of life and at end of life, also providing additional services such as Lymphoedema, Bereavement and Family Support, Befriending, Occupational Therapy and Complementary Therapy.

Job Aim:To work with the Youth Project Coordinator to provide a fun, engaging and exciting programme of activities for young people across the economically disadvantaged but beautifully diverse E6 area within the London Borough of Newham. You will assist in delivering against the partnerships successful EMPOWER youth services commissioning bid to Newham Council. The service provides 10 weekly universal activities across East Ham over 49 weeks of the year for young people aged 9-19 including:
- Three outdoor MUGA sports sessions per week.
- Three youth hub session per week which includes branched off projects such as Junior Gym, screen acting, Muay Thai, healthy cookery sessions, calming crafts and sports.
- EKO Pathways after school delivery sessions, helping to support children with social, emotional, behavioural and mental health needs.
- Outdoor parks MUGA session
- Year-round trips and residentials
- Youth Theatre
- Delivery of three-week summer holiday scheme which involves volunteering placement with accredited Sports Leadership Award for 30 participants and employment for additional young people. This includes Stepping Up life skills training and social action campaign planning workshops.

Our Direct Marketing Team is part of this department, and recruits and develops supporters. We are seeking a Direct Marketing Officer to join this team on a fixed term basis until June 2025. They will independently manage and deliver a series of high standard direct marketing campaigns to recruit new donors, communicate with existing donors, and generate agreed income for Battersea through a variety of warm and cold marketing channels such as direct mail, print media, and digital promotion. This role will manage Battersea’s raffle product and campaigns associated with it.
