Phyllis Tuckwell provides supportive and end of life care for people living with an advanced or terminal illness. Based in Farnham and Guildford, we serve a population of 550,000 across West Surrey and part of North East Hampshire.

We are about to embark on a very exciting time as we build a new hospice. This Community Fundraising Manager role will play an important part in leading a team to deliver the best supporter care to our community as they fundraise for us not only in support of the upcoming Capital Appeal but also to continue to provide the current and ongoing care to our patients.

Community Fundraising Manager FTC (Maternity Cover)

37 hours per week (Part time/flexible hours considered)

Salary: £32,760 - £34,672 per annum WTE based on 37 hours (dependant on experience)

Hybrid working – with a minimum of 2 days a week based in Farnham.

We have been awarded a significant grant from the Defra Trees Call to Action Fund for #Defra Heart of England: growing momentum, capacity, skills and trees. In partnership with Stratford-on-Avon, Warwick, and Wychavon District Councils, the Heart of England Forest is leading this three year project to engage with landowners and local communities to increase tree cover across the landscape. Working together to identify suitable areas for trees to be planted, facilitate tree planting, and support woodland maintenance, new woodlands will be created that benefit the environment, boost biodiversity, and provide havens for communities to enjoy.

We are looking for two candidates with widespread experience of project delivery and good team working skills. The successful candidates will work closely with project partners to engage with local communities and larger scale landowners to identify suitable areas for tree planting.  Working with them to understand their needs, you will provide information on different types of planting and support them through the regulatory and funding process.

You will be passionate about landscape-scale conservation and the benefits this brings to both people and wildlife and have a demonstrable track record in successful team working.

The post will be based in the Heart of England Forest head office in Dorsington, but due to the nature of the project  hybrid working will form part of the role.  Each project delivery post has been assigned a particular geographic area – Warwick, Stratford-on-Avon or Wychavon district – and will be expected to travel extensively across their project area. However, both posts will contribute to delivery across the wider project area as applicable, working on a collaborative manner with the existing project team.

Join our Delivered Services team as an Admiral Nurse and bring your specialist dementia nursing expertise to support family carers, people affected by dementia, and professionals who require specialist advice. You’ll be a key member of our team, providing biopsychosocial support through our National Dementia Helpline and Virtual Clinic appointments.

In addition to your core responsibilities, you’ll have the opportunity to lead and support other clinical projects across the charity, benefit from monthly clinical supervision, and participate in a range of learning opportunities to support your ongoing professional development.

As an Admiral Nurse, you’ll be responsible for providing nursing support and expertise, offering practical guidance to colleagues, the general public, those with dementia, and others in supporting family and relationship-centered approaches to dementia care. You’ll also lead and coordinate shifts as required, providing clinical supervision to others and assist with the development, evaluation, audit of the service.

To be successful in this position, you’ll need to be an active Registered Nurse on the NMC register with a post-registration qualification or training in dementia care or a relevant subject. You will have significant experience of practicing as an Admiral Nurse or dementia specialist nurse and previously worked with people who have dementia and their family, carer and supporters in different settings.

Strong communication skills are essential, as is a proven track record of providing high standards of clinical leadership and specialist nursing support. You should be adept at providing clinical advice, clinical supervision, and advocating for family carers.

The Job

A fantastic Foundation working to tackle child poverty, deforestation and domestic abuse are looking to recruit a highly skilled and experienced Chief Operations Officer.

The Chief Operations Officer (COO) will play a critical role in the overall strategic and operational leadership of the Foundation. You will oversee daily operations, ensuring efficiency, effectiveness, and alignment with the organisation’s mission and goals. The COO will work closely with the Founder and the senior team to drive organisational success and implement strategies that enhance the foundation's impact.

Key Responsibilities include:

• Strategic Development: Collaborating with the founder to develop long-term strategies that advance the foundation’s mission and goals. Ensuring that all operations are aligned with strategic objectives, making adjustments as necessary to respond to changing circumstances.
• Program Execution: Overseeing the execution of all child poverty, domestic abuse and restoration programmes.
• Operational Policies: Developing and implementing operational policies and procedures to enhance productivity and compliance.
• Audit and Budget Management: Working with finance to develop and manage the annual budget, ensuring all expenditures are aligned with organizational goals.
• Fund Development: Overseeing income generation and fundraising strategies
• Program Innovation: Leading the development of new programs and the enhancement of existing programs to better serve the community.
• Team Management: Leading, mentoring, and developing a high-performing team, fostering a positive and inclusive work environment.

The successful candidate will have experience in operations management, ideally within a small foundation and a proven track record in strategic planning and execution, with a focus on operational efficiency and effectiveness. Strong financial acumen, with experience in budgeting, financial analysis, and resource management is a must, alongside excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills. At least 5 years in a senior leadership role is key and a real and committed passion for social justice and equity is essential.

What the role involves

- Work effectively with Safer London’s practice teams to identify opportunities and prepare successful funding bids in a competitive environment.
- Develop and maintain a pipeline of prospective funders and scan the external environment to identify new funding opportunities that are aligned to Safer London’s aims and strategic priorities.
- Develop and write inspirational, accurate, and compelling funding bids with the view of achieving sustainable long-term support for Safer London’s work.
- Build and maintain relationships with current and prospective funders, including through maximising any relationships held by senior colleagues and trustees.
- Maintain and develop internal income generation systems and processes, including donor records, financial information, funder reports, and internal monitoring to ensure effective stewardship and internal visibility of progress against plans.

Role purpose  

Chance UK are looking for a go getter and experienced administrator to join the team. The role will manage the services administration from imputing data on our system and supporting referrals to ensure that all relevant information is captured to planning celebration graduations.

Key to this role is supporting and developing qualitative and quantitative data, establishing high quality practices; a focus on outcomes for children and young people and fostering a positive team culture. The successful post holder will ensure best practice in all service delivery whilst ensuring that outcomes are captured in line with KPIs. Good knowledge of Salesforce would be desirable.

About us

Crisis is the national charity for homeless people. We know that homelessness is not inevitable. We know that together we can end it.  

Crisis Skylight Oxford is in the Old Fire Station in the centre of the city. It offers one to one coaching support from a team of coaches who can work with people around their housing needs and anything else that will support them to end their homelessness such as mental health and well-being, finances or finding employment. Alongside the coaching we offer practical, creative, and vocational workshops and accredited learning opportunities. The Old Fire Station building also accommodates a range of flexible arts spaces which are run by an independent arts company.   

Salary: £29,505 per annum  

Contract:         5-month fixed term contract – September 2024 to January 2025 

Hours: 21 hours per week, required to be worked over three or four days. To include mornings. Service opening hours are 9am-5pm Monday to Friday.

As our Events Coordinator you will coordinate our Christmas service in Oxford, which includes running a delivery service, holding a breakfast, and holding Health and well-being days pre and post the Christmas period.
