Based in the Paediatric Ophthalmology Department at Sheffield Children’s Hospital, you will work closely with Ophthalmologists and clinical staff as a vital part of the team. This role will be supported by an Honorary Contract, requiring you to adhere to the values, policies, and procedures of both Sheffield Children’s NHS Foundation Trust and Guide Dogs. You’ll work 4 days per week in the hospital, supporting the Paediatric Ophthalmology Clinics from 9am to 5pm, with the flexibility to work from home for 1 day per week.
Within this role you will:
·Provide Support in Eye Clinics: Assist parents of children and young people in an eye clinic setting, offering both emotional support and guidance.
·Offer Information & Guidance: Deliver expert advice on health, education, welfare, and social care, ensuring families are well-informed and empowered to make decisions.
·Collaborate with Professionals: Liaise with internal and external professionals to ensure coordinated care and support, facilitating smooth communication across services.
·Handle Registration & Referrals: Complete necessary paperwork for registration and refer families to relevant Guide Dogs services, as well as statutory and voluntary agencies for further support.
·Support Funding Applications & Clinical Staff: Assist families with external funding applications and provide support to clinical staff with any related enquiries.
·Promote Guide Dogs’ Services: Raise awareness of Guide Dogs services and activities, ensuring families know about the full range of support available.
We’re looking for someone with experience in supporting individuals with sight loss and disabilities, who brings an empathetic approach to their work. You should be skilled at identifying needs and signposting to the right services.
The role involves collaborating with health, education, welfare, and social care professionals, so a joined-up approach is essential. Knowledge of eye care health will be key to providing informed support.
We need someone with strong communication and relationship-building skills, able to work independently and as part of a team. Organisational skills and proficiency with IT systems are also essential.

What is the role of the Manager?
As manager, with the support of the deputy(s), you will organise varied and fun breaks for our guests. This includes carrying out assessments for new guests, supporting the team to deliver respite care, coaching the staff team, and embedding high standards in the service. We run 20 breaks a year and wish to grow this number, around about 10 of which are led by the Activity Team Manager on site in East Sussex. During activity breaks food and your own room is provided and an additional sleep in payment for each night supporting a break is paid.
We are a London based charity and welcome applicants for this role on the understanding they are able to support at least 10 breaks throughout a year (providing day and overnight support for 5 days/ 4 nights at a time in East Sussex), are able to travel to our North East London offices to attend meetings and training sessions, and travel to assessments and marketing events as required.

About the role:
This role is based in our offices located in Shipley and Wakefield.
As a part-time Helpline Advisor (Triage ISVA) you will provide initial advice and information to clients accessing our service. You will ensure the referral meets our criteria and where this is not the case you have the ability to build strong links with referral pathways across the region. You will be required to provide continuity, advocacy and impartial advice and information about all options, such as reporting to the police, accessing Sexual Assault Referral Centre (SARC) services, and specialist support such as pre-trial therapy and sexual violence counselling.
You will undertake risk assessments and support needs analysis with clients and address initial needs and risk.
To provide non-therapeutic emotional and practical support to victims/survivors. This will be delivered via telephone, text and/or email based on the preferences and need of the client. To build links with services across West Yorkshire to ensure wrap around support is available.
Provide information and advocacy to enable clients to navigate and understand the criminal justice process and ensure their rights are upheld in accordance with the Victims Code of Practice. Explain criminal, legal and if relevant, civil remedies to clients.

About the Role:
