Job purpose
As a Senior Policy Officer, you will play a pivotal role in supporting the policy influencing work of Runnymede across a wide range of areas. Your responsibilities will involve researching and developing evidence-based policy positions, drafting briefings in priority areas and supporting with policy reports, while working closely with other members of the team to contribute to organisational initiatives. A key part of this role will involve supporting the Policy Manager and Head of Policy in managing the Runnymede’s Parliamentary engagement, which includes monitoring ongoing legislation, organising Parliamentary events and managing the Secretariat for the All Party Parliamentary Group on Race and Community.
This is a challenging position that requires strong organisational skills, an ability to navigate high-stakes environments, and a keen understanding of policy nuance within the shifting landscape of race and social justice. You will be integral to shaping and advancing Runnymede’s anti-racist agenda and will thrive on collaboration and learning in a responsive and dynamic environment.

Using a gender and trauma-informed approach, the Salford Outreach Worker will support women sex working on the street and in saunas in Salford. They will deliver outreach one night per week to reach Salford residents street sex working. They will also undertake regular outreach sessions to indoor sex work premises during the day. They will develop professional networks in Salford to share intelligence, cascade information about the support MASH can offer and provide joint support to women.

We are looking to recruit HOPELINE247 Advisors to provide individually tailored suicide prevention advice and guidance to young people and those who are concerned for them via our national multi-channel helpline HOPELINE247 and deliver suicide prevention training online and in community settings across the UK.
What you will do:
• Work as part of a team providing suicide prevention support to a range of clients via multichannel communication platforms.

You will use the knowledge and skills you’ve developed through our training to explore issues relating to childhood abuse and it how it effects adulthood and signpost callers to relevant resources and services that can provide more in-depth support. Calls are caller-led, and you will be there to empower each caller to take back control in their lives.

About the role
The primary purpose of the 1st Mate / 1st Lieutenant on board the Marine Society’s Power Vessels is to act as the Second in Command of the TS Jack Petchey. You will be supporting the Commanding Officer to deliver high quality sail training experiences to cadets aged between 12-18. The vessels travel throughout the UK and near continent between March and November each year. You will be responsible for ensuring the safety, discipline, morale, welfare and day-to-day employment of permanent crew members, embarked personnel and cadets is appropriately managed. You will also act as the vessel’s Training Officer and Safety Officer.
Responsibilities
- To stand deck watches in a 1-in-2 with the Commanding Officer when at sea (usually only sailing during daylight hours).
- Ensure compliance with the MSSC Offshore Safety Management System.
- To initiate and deliver the adult and cadet training programmes.
- To organise and run the ship's routine giving due regard to hours of work, rest and mealtimes.
- To act as part of the vessel’s emergency response team, managing the delivery of first aid or firefighting.
- To be responsible for the routine maintenance and serviceability of the ship's tender; lifejackets, harnesses and other life-saving appliances in accordance with the MSSC electronic maintenance system.
- To carry out general ship husbandry tasks and support winter maintenance tasks.
- To liaise with Offshore Operations and the Personnel Officer regarding crew lists, next of kin, medical and dietary details maintaining an accurate soul’s onboard list.
Requirements
- Yachtmaster Offshore (Power) or Master 200 - for up to 24m with commercial endorsement qualification.
- Internationally recognised Certificate of Competency (CoC).
- Confidence to take Command of the vessel in the absence of the permanent Commanding Officer.

We are looking for a full-time Shelter Coordinator to join our small and friendly team to lead the successful delivery of our shelter operations for the 2024-25 winter season.
C4WS Homeless Project provides support to those experiencing homelessness throughout the year via a well-established winter night shelter in Camden, a lunchtime club, Jobs Club, hosting scheme, mentoring scheme and various other activities. We are passionate about helping people rebuild their lives after homelessness and working towards living independently.
Reporting to the Director, you will be responsible for coordinating the practical and day-to-day running of our shelters, which will involve:
- Ensuring each shelter has enough trained volunteers to safely operate
- Ensuring each shelter has all the practical equipment and resources needed
- Liaising with and supporting church volunteer teams
- Being the main staff presence at shelter shifts
- Responsible for managing our weekly Friday Club drop in
The ideal candidate will have previous experience working with people who are experiencing homelessness or other similarly disadvantaged groups, an efficient and practical approach, warm and friendly nature, and a can-do attitude.
The successful applicant will be required to work flexibly whilst the shelter is operating. This includes some evenings (9:30pm finish), and some weekend shifts and bank holidays, as per a weekly-changing rota, and therefore is required to display considerable flexibility. We are looking to recruit a Support and Advocacy Practitioner to work collaboratively as part of a committed team to deliver an outstanding service and a range of personalised support that puts residents first and empowers them to achieve their goals and thrive in adult life. This is an exciting role in our Supported Accommodation team that will lead on co-producing bespoke support and move-on plans, involving key stakeholders such as Social Workers, Personal Advisors and other support providers where appropriate. You will engage residents to meet agreed outcomes and develop life skills, assisting with day-to-day support and tenancy-related matters. You will also identify and promote opportunities for employment, education and training and support residents to remove barriers to accessing these opportunities.

This is a full-time role. You will work an average of 35 hours in a 40-hour week worked on a rolling rota (including weekends and Bank Holidays). Shifts are 8 hours (inclusive of a 1-hour unpaid lunch break) and include early, late and flexi/cover shifts.

About the role:
Working within a passionate team providing an effective, high quality support service to address the presenting needs of clients with complex needs in relation to poly substance misuse, mental health, and a wide variety of associated issues (including: street activity, offending, physical health, background of complex trauma.)
The primary role of the project is to enable clients to understand their emotional and mental health needs and manage these effectively. Project workers will also support clients to develop their living skills, develop & manage relationships, build social networks and access education, training or employment, by completing comprehensive needs and risk assessments with clients and identifying short-term objectives.
Project workers will need to be resilient, innovative, flexible and creative. A commitment to working collaboratively and within a recovery framework. There will be an element of housing management work with the expectation that clients manage a successful tenancy before moving on to more independent housing.
The Project Worker role be required to work a rota inclusive of early, lates weekends, on average one weekend in four.

- A level of numeracy sufficient to carry out tasks such as budgeting with clients, calculating benefit entitlements and monitoring rent payments.

We are pleased to announce an exciting new Debt Advice Traineeship programme.
We are looking to train 5 individuals to become qualified Debt Advisors through a comprehensive training programme that includes classroom-based learning, practical experience, e-learning, and mentorship all ensuring trainees get a well-rounded experience.
Trainees will be offered a full time, fixed term employment contract until 31 March 2025 while they complete their training and qualification (Level 3 and 4 Community Money Advice, Debt Advice Training). At the end of the traineeship we hope to support graduates into longer term employment.
This programme provides trainees with both theoretical knowledge and practical skills, helping them understand the complexities of debt advice and the necessary regulations.
Applicants do not need any previous debt advice experience, we are looking for individuals who have good written and verbal communication skills as well as some IT and phone skills that will be developed throughout the programme. Crucially we are looking for individuals who have an interest in a longer term career in debt advice and who want to provide crucial support to individuals and families struggling with financial burdens.

About Mental Health Innovations (MHI)

Shout is a free, confidential, 24/7 text message service for anybody to text when they may be struggling with anxiety, loneliness or depression through to self harm or suicidal thoughts.
Job Purpose:
To support the recruitment and admission of new volunteers, promoting volunteering opportunities and completing background checks.
Key Responsibilities
- Ask for and check references for new volunteers
- Coordinate and attend volunteer recruitment events, such as Universities; organise volunteers and staff to support
- Follow up with prospective volunteers to encourage them to apply
- Work with the Communications team to promote volunteering opportunities online
- Coordinate and run regular information sessions for prospective volunteers to explain the volunteering opportunities
- Initiate contact with volunteers and trainees to process DBS/PVG/police vetting checks as required
- Check the status of volunteers who are part of the relevant Update Service
- Proactively monitor and follow up on the progress of checks to keep on top of weekly targets
- Coordinate video calls to verify ID documents, checking documents with utmost attention to detail
- Handle queries on checks, and troubleshoot cases such as missing documentation or anything outside the accepted DBS/PVG/police vetting procedure
- Liaise with our selected external provider for any queries
- Escalate disclosures to a panel for review, if required
- Accurately update outcome information for each volunteer
- Ensure the confidentiality of volunteer information is maintained and securely discard volunteer documentation once checks are complete
- Utilise tools such as Jira, Salesforce and effectively
- Provide regular progress reports to the Volunteer Admissions Lead and Head of Volunteers
- Undertake other ad-hoc tasks commensurate with the role as necessary
Essential Criteria
